It means they keep your money.

    • If you paid by PayPal you will still get the gift card if you paid by credit/debit cards you will be refunded………….Joke

      • i paid by paypal got an email saying credit card. so im assuming no one gets anything

    • +1

I paid by PayPal, it will be refunded as per email

      • The email doesn't mention PayPal.

  • -8

Just Jeans public relations/marketing team obviously is as bad, if not worse, than their IT crowd >.<

    • +26

Why would they honour it? It's an isolated incident that only went on for a few hours. Most of the people who bought these are ozbargainers, and we are not loyal customers. We only go where the bargains are. And Just Jeans never have bargains, they are just overpriced cheap clothes, like Tarocash/Connor/YD etc. They would just lose a lot of money.

        • +22

Purposly taking advantage of a businesses quite unfavourable error and then expecting them to give you some kind of compensation isn't really that nice.

        • +13

You attempt to abuse it glitch and then expect a $20 gift. Get a grip

        • +4
        • sigh

        • @nismo: Unless you're Americanised. (Think "Kool-aid".) ;-)

          @DrStinge:

Seriously? The year is 2015AD. If you are unable to validate or have safeguards to prevent this behavior from occurring you are unfit to run a online business.

BTW DrStinge do you complain when something scans higher than the shelf price or not? Just curious…

        • +4

          @Mr Rort:

Of course I do - that's false advertising - but when you can buy store credit worth full value at 17% of the cost and then spew your god damn entitlement all over the internet.. It's just a joke.

I have no doubt in my mind that 99% of you wouldn't think twice in just jeans shoes to cancel the orders.

  • +3

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out everyone. I was hoping those of you who'd taken a punt and ordered somehow managed to get your orders honoured. Gotta be in it to win it.

  • +1

    Haha

  • +2

What a strange cancellation email. Why would the apology be sent as an image?

  • +55

This is the part of Ozbargain I loathe.

The part where you all cry foul when some bogus pricing error isn't honored. Suck it flogs.

  • Can't even neg the deal since it's been moved to the forums…

    • Just jeans handled this perfectly. nicely worded email.

  • -2

Look at their Facebook page too, lots of people are complaining! Are we going to take this to A Current Affair or Today Tonight?

  • +15

Obvious pricing error. You can't complain. Suck it up and move on.

  • +15

Those Facebook posters bringing shame to Ozbargain…

    • +11

I'm sure you and your lawyers are aware that under Federal Consumer Law you are not legally allowed to cancel the orders for gift cards placed and processed on the weekend.

      https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1015344997881171…

Anyone know which federal law she is on about? Is she going to call the firemen too?

      • +2

Lol, I'm pretty sure JJ and their lawyers are NOT aware of the proposition of law for which angry mum contends.

Check out (no pun intended) the Mr. Bean smile.

      • +11

        It's the vibe of thing.

      • Looks like she deleted her post?

        • +1

          Lol publicly shamed on OzBargain?

    • +14

I'm sure they'll miss all of you sooks. Get over yourself!

  • +13

Their Facebook page… so many nutters. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.

    • +3

My favourite is the "marked down" and "on special". This is so painful to read it's cringe worthy.

      What a joke.

    • +5

      So many butthurt idiots.

    • +7

I checked it out because you mentioned it and the greed of these people is disgraceful. Crying foul after trying to manipulate a bug? that's not cricket mate.

      • -3

They should have given the peeps a fair go. In truly Aussie way.

        • Ruslan Kogan woulda!

  • +6

One thing Just Jeans can learn from this is make your changes in a Non-Production environment and test it before you roll it out to Production.

    • +4

And don't test out new pricing on Sunday.

      • +6

Of all the comments you could have chosen to nitpick for grammar, you pick this one? His sentence doesn't require any other punctuation. Worst comes to worst, he has a few extra capital letters than are needed, and a comma might improve the flow slightly. How about you revisit your own sentence structure first, mate - it's not that crash hot.

  • -2

this is without a doubt the worst thing that has happened to me today. I will never EVER buy a $200 gift card from Just Jeans again and will strongly encourage my friends and family not to do so either.

    • +4

hoping there is a /sarcasm tag in there somewhere

      • +22

not at all. I've been a loyal customer for over two whole days and i've never experienced this customer service (or lack thereof) of this level before. I would expect these type shenanigans from Jeans West or Industry but not from a reputable store like Just Jeans.

Next time I am in the market for a $200 gift card on a budget, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

        GOOD DAY SIR!

(In all seriousness though, mock indignation is 95% of the reason I bought the gift card in the first place, I assumed that's why everyone did…)

You know, if OP hadn't decided to post it here on OB, they probably would have honoured his…

        • Hi Peter Francis.

        • -2

          @rompastompa:
          Your point being?

        • -1

          Why is this being negged?

        • +1

I've been a loyal customer for over two whole days

lolz. You should post that as responses to the raging FB peeps.

  • +2

inb4 …omg how dare they im reporting them to the ACCC!!!! im never shopping there again

…. and im too late :<

    • /whoosh to the person that neg'd me or its one of the people that does exactly that!

  • Have the people who paid via PayPal received their refunds yet?

    • +2

      Not yet

      • Still waiting. Open a dispute?

        • No rush , order still says it's pending.

  • +5

What's with these people who keep exclaiming that they didn't try purchase it over and over again because Oo its so mean and how great of a person they are. You sounds like pompous bogan losers

    • -4

Despite your utter lack of empathy or basic human understanding, I still pray you never know the pain an grief that's been cause and i hope nothing like this ever befalls you or the ones you care about.

      • +2

Billion dollar company. Someone made a mistake, the business suffers not the individual. What's with the personification of big business nowadays. You're the type of guy who would stand up for corporate tax cuts if you could foot the bill aren't you. Need more people like you, they love it.

        • +2

yikes… maybe I SHOULD look into this /sarcasm tag thing…

        • +2

@jonathonsunshine: yes, theres no way that sounded sarcastic lol

          Sorry for the above

        • +1

          @Truthbe:
          Emoticon is required.

        • @jonathonsunshine:

Ha ha you should as you've made some cracking gags which have given me a good laugh, but which have whooshed over the heads of many others. Your first one had me fooled for a short while though!

      • Wait you even bought the giftcard! What are you on about empathy

  • +1

Is anyone still yet to receive the cancellation email? I ordered 2 x non reducted clothing items and a giftvoucher, and I'm yet to receive the cancellation notification. I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

EDIT: Found it in my spam folder. With so many emails to send out, you'd think the Just Jeans administration would at least take steps to whitelist their emails!

    • +1

Just Jeans administration would at least take steps to whitelist their emails!

How can they do that? The email has been classified as spam by your email provider. JJ have no control over it.

      • +4

There are many steps that companies can take to minimise the spam score on emails.

        • Like what?

        • @ms:
What's with these moronic neggers. Can't even let people have a conversation.

        • +1

@ms: If you are genuinely interested, mass mail companies like mail chimp and vision 6 will grade your email before it is sent and indicate the likelihood it will be marked as spam. You can also view the output of your emails as rendered by various email programs and mobiles.

        • @BartholemewH: thanks for the information.

    • -2

With so many emails to send out, you'd think the Just Jeans administration would at least take steps to whitelist their emails!

With such an important email waiting to be received, you'd think you would at least take steps to whitelist their email address/domain

  • Lucky i didnt bother.

  • +16

It's a bloody outrage it is. I'm taking this all the way to the Prime Minister…

  • +5

    well.. here's your "compensation" crybabies

    30% off full priced + 40% clearance

    • Looks like I ended up buying clothes from them anyway! Thanks bargain prices

    • +11

How the heck did the model get those pants on, and does she need help getting them off?

      • +2

You worry about the first part, leave the second part to me =p

    • -3

Considering how many Ozbargain buyers they have offended I don't think many would care if they had a 99% off sale.

      • +8

Offended? No one with some sense of common-sense has been 'offended'. It was worth trying but obvious glitch was obvious!

      • +3

If they had a 99% off sale I would be too busy to write this post, I'd be driving all around town trying to find a 24hr Just Jeans store.

I mean, OzBargainers still jump on Harvey Norman sales at the right price and apparently we hate that guy.

        • +3

          and Dick Smith…

    • +12

i do not know what to do

you could start by not complaining about it

    • +7

      This is very bad

What's so bad? You get your money refunded.
