    Thanks TA (and imissbeans).

  • Vida pack $5 is great especially with free data for a month on weekends

Now if these are like the Telstra $1 starter kit, you have to ask for it at the counter and then take it through a normal register with the rest of your $30+ purchases.

I had major problems with the Telstra $1 starter kit. It wasn't pretty.

hehe .. I was told if there was such a promotion "there'd be queues walking them out the door!" .. other staff nearby knew nothing .. after I insisted she was dumbfounded when the manager advised her the simple procedure ;-)

        • +1

Yes, the whole thing was a mess.

    •SFC Boneless Bucket 650g $7.50

    takes glasses off

    YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

The only reason it is boneless is because it is questionable if it is even chicken. I tried the SFC tenders out one other time they were one sale. To say they were terrible is an understatement.

      • But the "Chicken" is sold in a bucket.
(Isn't that a big clue right there?) lol

      • The ones that have bones are at least recognisably chicken - in a KFC type of way.

      • Agreed.

The only one that's OK is called SFC Bargain Bucket or something I think. And yeah, it's chicken on the bone not … whatever that is in the others lel.

      • I dunno man, I've had the SFC tenders myself (along with all the things in the bucket), and while they're not 'great', they're definitely passable. It's formed chicken. If you were expecting Ingham/Steggles quality, you probably went in with too high of an expectation.

      • You needed to try it to determine that.

It is a poor frozen rip off of something that smells far better than it tastes. Of course it is going to be horrible.

Mmm kettle chips, if you guys don't see any chilli ones on Wednesday, you'll know who cleared them out lol

    • :) bought Tyrell's a few weeks ago and prefer Kettle.

Ha, ha, my favorite chippies if for no other reason you don't have to share them with the kids (unless they have been bad…) I believe these are also rebranded and sold at ALDI for $2 everyday. Problem is the chilli ones are sometimes not stocked at my local… YMMV.

      • +3

Wait what? Are you serious? They have a re-branded Aldi chilli one?!

        • Well, on the very scientific sample of one packet, they sure tasted pretty close or "just as good as" to me. Sometimes the cheapie chippies are somewhat underwhelming but I thought the ALDI ones where the real deal. Only problem I have found is they tend to be less stocked, or maybe just new. So anyway, what sort of arse joke can I come up with for chilli chips. Oh, let's not go there…

  • Great deal on the Kettle chips…Kettle Chilli all they way!

  • Can the Vodafone Starter $30 credit be used to apply to any of the prepaid plans or is it locked to stated plan?

    • It's the $30 prepaid cap plan. Same deal as the last time. Buy $30, which can include Opal topup, scan your EDR card, and it's enabled to let you buy the starter pack for $5, even at a different counter.

      • This is Coles

        • Oops, ah well, no Opal topup option then.

        • .. can you do this at Coles?

        • @Look43Bs: Do what at Coles? No Opal topups there, and the procedure is probably slightly different from Woolies if it's similar to previous Coles deals; you probably need to buy the starter pack in the same transaction as the $30 spend.

    • So, the credit can't be used to start a prepaid 365 Vodafone plan

      • +1

It's at the discretion of Voda CSRs or their supervisors. They might be more sympathetic if you want to transfer the credit to an existing account.

Wow that's expensive Palmolive Body Polish 400ml $350

    • +3

That's because it's limited edition, infused with TA's forehead sweat while compiling these lists.

    • Piqued my curiosity so I looked it up and it appears people pay that much for diluted soap with Acai berry added.

Quite what rubbing almost no berry and diluted soap onto oneself and then washing it off is meant to achieve who knows.

I guess if your the kind of rube that believed Acai Berries were the weight loss miracle you've been waiting for then you might buy it? Who knows.

  • I am going to be grabbing a carton of John West tuna. That is an awesome price.

  • I notice more and more the specials are stock they really want to get rid of and mostly not popular products. Only a few are essentials

Sorry TA, unless you dont have a target around my target Vodafone $30 for $5 deal is betterish with no spend limit
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203620

    • Why the apology? Seems like it's a better deal for sure. Well done. Nice plug by the way :)

  • Why is it, when coles have muffins on sale there are no fruit muffins, only english muffins !?

    • Mighty Soft make better fruit ones than Tip Top.

  • lindt blocks for $2 too :)
