You used to be able to. My sister purchased a $50 Coles Myer Gift Card with a $50 Myer Gift Card.
Of course, since the Coles /Myer split, you won't be able to do it that particular way.
You can buy Coles/Myer giftcards using Coles giftcards. I've done it before.

I didn't know this promotion was on right now. I went in to Doncaster Myer, to buy a $50 gift card with a $100 gift card and they said gift cards can't be used to buy others.

@SomeGuyOnOzB: Just buy relevant amount to get these cards in two transactions. When using your cards you can use two to make a purchase ie 2X$500 = 2X$50 buy item worth $750 use both $500 cards and end up with say $250 on one.

a little late on the answer but the gift cards have a 2 year expiry from the date of purchase. Deal is valid until 24th Dec.

Hi ~ contacted Myer, apparently runs until 24 December 2009. If you get a $100 gift card, they give you a separate $10 bonus gift card, $200 then they give you a separate $20 gift card and so on. Not $10 off. Excellent deal thank you.

u can try bargain at myer, call them first. thats what i did in the past when i bought my video camera, when i arrived there, i said to him again can u give me better offer then he still give me additional $20 off. amazing

Don't think so, even on their online store this deal is not up.
I just tried to order the Myer gift cards online to save a trip to the store (40 minute drive for me), but it doesn't give you the bonus cards and limits each transaction to $500. I guess I will have to go to the store this week then.

well I received an email today saying that it only applies to myer gift cards and not coles group gift cards.
1)1st attempt gardent city perth was told ONLY myer vouchers. But managed to split 2x$50+ $10 bonus.
2)2nd attempt perth city i got a (would not let me split the $100)1x$100 coles group / myer voucher + $10 myer voucher. The lady just said choose a gift card - but she had a specific myer card for the bonus

Does anybody know whether you can "consolidate" gift cards? i.e. I have 4 cards with differing values from $5 to $120, and seems a bit dumb to have so many. And if not, is there a maximum number of gift cards that can be used in a single transaction?
There is no max on the amount of gift cards you can use on one purchase. I used about ~20-30 to buy my TV from there.

i got myer gift that expired 7/7, i try my luck yesterday went to myer bought my item and try to pay using my expired gift card. the system approved my expired gift card. i notice from the receipt that i got. yeahhhh my lucky day
