        • i contacted them and they made manual refund

        • @davicta:

Another one of my supplementary cards was used to buy gift card on Friday. And the credit came through yesterday. This was a t the kwinana store. So I think it is just the west Perth store which is having issues.

        • So I think it is just the west Perth store which is having issues.

My guess is that the transaction description of "WEST PERTH ALH" is causing the problem. The credit is probably automated based on a description starting with "DAN MURPHYS"

        • @roughana:

Yeah its not very consistent. In the vintage cellars round of statement credits, the south perth store was listed as a liquorland for some reason, the others were listed as "VINTAGE CELLARS SUBURB". I got the credit for that transaction though. And as mentioned before, the west perth store worked for me last year.

          @roughana:

This is the reply I got from AMEX today:

          Thank you for your enquiry.

The merchant team has found that the particular branch number was missing in the system. They have already added the number into the system so, you will receive a credit for both your AMEX cards in the next 10 days.

Please do let us know if the credit does not appear on your statement in the next 14days, we will manually apply the credit to your account.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused on this matter.

Many thanks for your time and patience.

        • @davicta: HI. How did you contact them? I purchased on Wednesday, at DM Melbourne QV. Highly unlikely that they are missed out… think I've got credit from them in a similar promo, last year… Thanks.

        • @bluedufflecoat: Sign up to AMEX connect (https://network.americanexpress.com/connect/au/en/default.ht…) using your card details and once you are logged in you can go to the Contact Us section. They use this secure messaging system where the link to the message is in an attachment sent to your email when they reply.

        • @davicta: Thanks.

        • @koga:

who did you contact? Bought something from Dan Murphy West Perth a few weeks ago and something from the online store tonight.

        • just ring the number on the back of your credit card.
i have rung the plat edge number several times and the agents
are always well trained and very aware of the promotions.
never had a problem ..in fact they tend to over compensate if anything

got my statement credit today ^_^ DM card bought on the 11th, no confirmation email received at all

  • I purchased two gift cards with two different issuers on Sunday 16th.
I did not receive a confirmation email for either of them as I usually do.
Transactions hit the account 17th and the credit dated the 18th is visible today.
Description of all the transactions is "DAN MURPHYS 1285 WILLOUGH WILLOUGHBY"

Guys I purchased a gift card just under an hour ago and still haven't received any email confirmation, text message, letter, correspondence or follow-up call from AMEX whatsoever. I find it absolutely unacceptable from a multi-national corporation and am drafting a letter to the relevant ombudsmen and ACCC as we speak. Spewing!!

    :P

You have to wait 5 years

    • +3

Don't forget to tell the Ombudsman and ACCC that you purchased a gift card in contravention of the terms and conditions and as such should get no rebate..
I hope they do not prosecute you for wasting their time.

Thanks for letting me know about this Ian, I'll delete that clause from the T&Cs when I attach it to my case, cheers mate

        • lol..

    • I didn't receive an email either but about 5 business days later I received the $15 credit

  • Has anyone found a good deal on ecruising travel? Most Australian cruises are too expensive for $100 off $500 to be a good discount but it could be a good deal if you could find a cheap cruise in the Caribbean or Mediterranean, as you could stack the discount with cruise line on board credit offers.

Off topic but a headsup for the Amex Shop Small deal which has been a real winner in the past.
According to my source the Shop Small deal will be on again soon.
    Get the cards ready

    • Are you allowed to share your source?
      or how reliable it is??

      • "With Shop Small 2015 just around the corner, we’re getting ready to do it all over again this November, only bigger and better."

        Source - https://shopsmallaustralia.com/

      • no problem.
buy seafood twice a week at Sammies in Brisbane and know the staff well.
we talk about how good the Amex Shop Small deals are and yesterday they mentioned the deal was on again very soon.
maybe in Nov as fkwong suggests.

glad to hear it was coming again as a real winner for mutiple card holders

        • Ah right. Thanks jlqc5899 I just found that link too.
November is still some time away. I'm fine with that.
Now I'm thinking whether it's worth paying the annual fee for my ANZ Rewards cards from October last year just to keep it active for all these AMEX statement credits…

        • @illumination:
It is worthwhile asking the question as to whether they can be waived for you - seeing as there are all these other promotions with no annual fee enticing you away from ANZ.

        • @roughana: Tried with the ANZ QFF card, they said no "because first year was already waived" - but no doubt I will ask anyway.

        • @illumination: How about applying supplementary cards for your NAB or Amex cards? As long as the supplementary cards have different numbers to the primary cards, then you can register them for the promotion.
From what I heard, there's no point to apply for Westpac and CBA supp cards since they will have the same number as the primary ones.

        • @gm3stevens:

Yea I do that anyway :P
You probably got that info from an earlier comment of mine in a different deal ;) (about Westpac & CBA supp cards not having different numbers)

    • Yes, in November.
