        Or great insurance..

        • Or even better lawyers.

        • +1

@chonkie: maybe just a faulty calculator

      • Not even James Parker's house cost that much…

        • Who is James Parker?

        • @mdippa: Lol… That was a fail on my part… Packer*

    • Who cares? Shut up and take my money!

      • I'll take it… but i aint giving you a toasted sandwich machine…

        • Ok, but I want a happy ending

    Your link doesn't mention toasted

    • +1

You can't tell what it is from the photo?

      • -1

        Read my comment again…

  • Love a good toasted cheese sammich.

    • +1

too bad you won't get one with this machine. It's a POS

  • Does it come with a free toasted sandwich?

    • +1

Lady at front is handing out some toasty made from machine

  • +1

mmmm I could go a toasted spam and sardine sandwich right about now….

  • +2

Bugger, I thought I was getting a Ready to Eat sandwich for $2 :(

Sandwich Maker would be a better description, no? [eg. Sandwich Machine could suggest a Vending Machine]

Edit: just like it says on the ticket…

  • +4

You'd pay more for the toasted sandwich in most places..

  • +1

    It's "toasted" sandwich machine…
    it won't work

  • +4

I thought it was a vending machine that spits out toasted sandwiches when you put $2 in it.

  • +8

So they think they need to pay a team member to stand there all day making toasties to convince people to spend $2.

    • +2

Thinking same.. things must be slow.

  • +5

Slightly off-topic: I got a $6 pancake maker from Kmart two Christmases ago.
It toasts sandwiches better than it cooks pancakes. :P

  • Gonna be late for uni now cause I'll have to get a toasted sandwich when I stop off to get another 4 amaysim vouchers at the woolies downstairs…

    • Priorities.

  • +22

Pfft. I got a sandwich maker for free. I just had to marry her.

    hopes wife doesn't check OzB

    • +26

Trust me … they don't work out to be free. Probably the most expensive sandwich maker you will ever buy :)

      • +14

Plus they miraculously stop making sandwiches once married… unsure about lifetime warranty lol

        • -4

LOL like I know, why won't my woman slave just conform to my chauvinistic views on the world?

EDIT: Negs? looks like I struck a nerve with the cavemen, so salty.

        • -1

@caramellokoala: I got negs, too. Pretty backward here, I guess. :/

      • Ouch!

        • I don't give negs but i get for stating the blooming obvious and facts. I may still be backward, prefer sideways because i am definitely not normal, nor do i want to be lol

        • -1

          @Scorpiogirl: So unpredictable.. not.

    • -7

I can't down vote yet, but I would if I could.

      • +1

Chill woman! The lads are having bit of fun. :)

  • +4

For a minute, I thought Adobe went into the sandwich-making business :)

    • I still think the same to this day for filling these for 5 years. Man I'm slow

  • anyone checked if this is in all stores? i need one in my office at work!

    • +1

It's happening in Big W Campsie but there's no free toasted sandwich. By time you guys read this, there'll be no more stock. Gotta go fast, man.

  • +1

The photo look like is a second hand one.

    • lol this^

I zoomed in straight away, saw the crumbs and thought it was second hand and thought no wonder it's $2. Then I saw the cheese and bread coming out and thought it was taken in OP's house.

Then zoomed out and realised they were giving out samples :)

      • Zoomed in further, got her name ,rang the store, asked her out.Free toasties.

        • +3

Abode, the sandwich maker that stays in the kitchen and doesn't talk. I think you've found the perfect wife.

        • +2

          Dare u.

        • @MemE: Pass here. You stay in the kitchen and i will hang out in the garage any time :)

        • @Scorpiogirl:
          Dare you to what?

        • @montorola: Comment was towards nocure. Dare him to do what he said.

  • So these sandwich machines came out of a toaster?

  • +3

Really nitpicky, but does this press it into triangles?

  • +1

It prints squares then you can cut it with scissors on the diagonal and get 2 triangles.

  • +3

does it seal the sandwhiches like a jaffle maker? or is it a flat surface?

    • Seals!

      • +1

for some strange reason i prefer the sandwhich press ones better. the seal/jaffles taste a bit different :(

        • I haven't seen one for ages but I prefer the one that seals the edges but doesn't cut then you can do egg jaffles and dipping them in tomato sauce once cooked is the best

  • North Lakes store has 50-100 in stock.

Also cheap tea towel 3pk sets for 50c

  • Abode Sandwichshop

  • Not worth $2. My sister bought one (from $7.50) - came home, plugged it in and made a toasted sammich straight away.

15 minutes later the bread still hadn't toasted but it had been in there so long it had steamed. Literally - The sandwich came out soggy, and barely brown.

    Mindbogglingly bad design.

    Immediately binned.

    • May be you got a faulty unit or you didn't read the manual?

If they can demo there I think should be OK.

    • Definitely just a faulty unit. I've had one of these exact units for a year and a bit now, from back when they were $10 - and it's still satisfying my hunger to this day.

  • +1

Sandwich press is best and more uses.

  • +1

Its available in Chullora Big W

    • Got the last one. No more left from what I can see.

      • There are still a lot at Warringah Mall.

Even $2 people still think … including me :p

  • Anyone checked for this in WA?

  • Still around 30 remaining at Macquarie Centre.
Didn't see any at Richmond Marketplace.

  • can i eat this as cheeeburger?
