  • Does anyone know if the recharge can be applied to existing prepaid accounts?

    • +1

Yes, it's a recharge voucher can apply on any prepaid service recharge

    Add Vodafail to the tag line…. :-) .. !!

  • Good deal as $10 PAYG with vodafone the calls are 10c per minutue with 10c flagfall. 15c per SMS. For a less frequent caller or if you just mainly receive calls it works out a cheap option for a month of service. I alternate the VF SIM with the Telstra $10 SIM (The ones I buy when the $30 Starter is on sale!) to get a cheap service throughout the year. Works out so much cheaper than signing up for a contract.

Do you think I could purchase 5 of these and get 5 recharge vouchers giving me 5 months of service for $10? with approx 100 mins of calls per month (less the flagfalls!).

    • why not use aldi mobile if you are mainly receiving calls ? $5 starter pack lasts for a year, 12c per minute call, 12c per Text. They had this for a dollar a few months ago, but i think the promo is over. and no cumbersome over the counter registration, so you can buy a bunch of them in a few minutes.

      • That one is Starter Kit which is always cheaper than recharge voucher.

        Starter usually under 50%…

The aldi starter kit is $1 for $5, and after you finished the $5 it will be expensive…

This one is $2 with $10 which is same percentage, but this is recharge and you can keep using the same number after u finish your $10 credit

    • Do you port your number every time, or do you have a dual sim phone?

It's annoying when someone uses cheap prepaid. You can never tell who it is when they call you.

  • Could you use 3 of these and recharge a $30 cap ect?

    • +1

I'm thinking the same question, may call the customer service and try do the recharge manually??

$6 for the free unlimited data and overseas call on weekend sounds good

      • Isn't that due to expire on 16th August?

        • Or made standard like txt/MMS. CommsDay benchmark month anyway (2015)

  • Is it Coles or Coles Mobile?

  • +1

Can I use this credit for data addons? If so, $6 will get me 4GB of data! :O

    • +1

how does this work? Intrigued to know more :)

    • I tried to recharge online and via phone and unfortunatley it did not give me a data option only the normal PAYG or 7day Cap recharge were available.

  • I got 2 x $10 vouchers, however there is no method to combine this into $20 for charging with the 365 days option.

    Any ideas anyone?

    • +1

give them a call. you will be surprised.

I got good service yesterday while calling them.

      • Thank you. all fixed.

    • How did you get the vouchers. I purchased a $2 sim from Coles and there's nothing on the receipt about a recharge.

  • anyone know when this expires?

    • The Deal? I think in the high 10s of this month, probably 18th or so

  • Seriously underrated deal. Thanks a lot OP!
2 months of 10gb and unltd data weekends for $6!

    • how do you get 10gb for $6?

      • Long while ago, using the $30 prepaid cap and data adds on using the included 'funny money'. Been grandfathered now, no new signups

        • @Food: Won't each voucher recharge as $10 cap, i.e. $100 Funny Money and 7 days expiry? 2100 MB for $2, no? i.e. 6300 MB for $6.

Unless you are recharging via operator or something?

NB, Telstra 4GX works out to half the cost of the favourites pack, and you get 1 yr expiry for $50, or two years for $140.

        • Is it possible for new vodafone users to access the data packs mentioned in that thread? They cost exactly $10 and give 1GB, this would result in $2/GB using OPs method, without any fishiness.

    • Uh-Oh, looks like that hole is plugged with the new voda plan

  • Anyone know the expiry date on this deal?

  • Any dice on the expiry? PLEASE?

    • think i heard date varies by POS terminal. My 4 today are only 23/12/15.
      Might go back for more.

      • Meant the deal :) but my other vouchers have the same exp. date

        • Would be good to know. I assume its some in store deal, quite a few left as well.

        • @daver: I read the fineprint but I Swear it said 17/18/ Late this week but probably not

        • @Food: This is right, advert footer shows deal ends by Mon 17/08.

        • @daver: You beauty, thanks Daver!

      • So does the $10 recharge just show on your receipt when you purchase the sim or do you have to purchase a sim and recharge in the same transaction??

        • +1

They scan $2 sim, add a $10 recharge then the $10 adjustment will automatically apply

    • +4

Deal runs til 25/8 as per this fuzzy pic

  • Got a few funny looks from the worker while going through the self-serve with 4 Telstra sims… Gonna be weird going back for 5-10 vodafone sims now… :/

edit: just a note, yes self service works… It just requires the worker to type a pin in before you can pay.

  • +1

So do you have to do multiple transactions for multiple sim/recharges or can you have multiple on the same transaction?

  • +1

They can all go on the same receipt. Limit 1 it says. On my two visits I've bought four however (aiming 750 .00 $40recharge). needed approval at self checkout. Trick is to first select to recharge then voda then $10 then scan sim pack, -$10, approval, (repeat). Slightly quicker first time when I just took them to counter and they understood to add recharge.

  • OMG … this is a very underrated deal … 80% discount on a vodafone recharge !!!! Will go to Coles today and see if it is still available.

    • Unfortunately it does not work for mobile data add on recharges … only the 10$ PAYG and 10$ Cap.

Has anyone tried putting 2x 5$ data recharges in the self check out instead of the 10$ mobile recharge … ? Would give you 1GB for 2$ … but doubt it works.

      • You could always try buying the $10 recharge and asking a Vodafone CSR to convert it to two $5 recharges. If you fail try and try again. Sometimes they try and short change you on a conversion rather than denying it altogether.

  • Does anyone have some tips for using the self service terminals? I had my transactions cancelled and service declined after I repeatedly "jammed" the terminals because I kept neglecting to put the starter kit in the bagging area though the jam might also have been because I was going for 3 SIMs on the one docket. I was of course trying to "re-buy" the SIMs I had previously bought which the shop assistant was fully aware of and initially raised no objection too after refusing me on the counter so I either pissed her off by jamming the terminal too many times or she consulted with a higher authority. Personally, I thought I was doing Coles a favour by buying stock I'm supplying myself. It's not like they're funding the specials. Of course, their point about stock levels needing to match on the computer is not unreasonable but I'm helping to counter pilfering.

Anyway, I think you can at least turn one SIM into two before the attendant needs to enter a PIN when you try and pay. It doesn't look like the order matters and it may default to Vodafone recharges if you do a recharge immediately after the starter kit is scanned. If you have a $2 SIM pack at home its probably best to take it with you rather than relying on Coles to have stock.

In my experience I have had very little success in obtaining these deals from the supermarkets. I still haven't managed to get Woolies to completely redeem a raincheck from last year. When I last asked Coles doesn't issue rainchecks any more on mobile products,
