Only $9 more for local warranty and shipping FYI

    • Yeah low AUD sucks for Amazon purchases :(

      • +5

hardly worth the difference imo especially considering warranty, even though you might not be in a hurry to receive it

    • Link?

  • anyone know if these fit in an XPS13?

    • +2

Pretty sure you would need mSata or M2!

    • As per this video; the RAM is soldered, the SSD is removable (M.2 form factor). This is referring to the latest Dell XPS 13-9343 (2015 model).

  • +1

    I'm getting $136 delivered.

    • -5

$130 is when you pay with USD using Citibank or 2 degrees.

  • How much is the 15TB ssd that they have just released?

    • +2

No pricing has been announced for the new SSD, but estimates in the $5,000 and up range would be appropriate. Samsung just began to sell 2.5-inch 2TB SSDs for $800 (consumer) to $1000 (professional) last month.

      • This is the same methodology of sales as HDD's, increment the size and charge proportionally. What I dont get is, especially for desktops is there are 3.5" mounts and therefore more space for chips (ipso facto a drastic increase in capacity).

        • +1

yeah, but it's the chips that cost all the $, not the case. You are basically paying $/GB.
This is why some brands have tried to use cheaper chips, that have resulted in crappy performance.

        • You can shove more chips into the space, but it doesn't help much with heat dissipation. And an SSD at full speed can put out quite a lot of heat. Heat is bad for the NAND, and potentially for the controller as well.

  • bloody hell. paid $209 for this last weekend at PC Case Gear in Mulgrave

    • +1

Why would you do that? I got the 500gb SSD for $239 only a couple of weeks ago from a tightarse shopping express deal…

      • actually i bought the Samsung 850 PRO Series 256GB 2.5in SSD for $209

        • -2

You sure? You seem confused seeing as your first post said "paid $209 for this last weekend" not sure why you would get the pro. Still got stung on the price mate.

        • @geo365: I bought the Samsung 850 Pro Series 256GB. It has a red box on it.

          http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&c…

How was I stung? I don't see it cheaper anywhere else.

          @pvo10:

Lol. So you got the SSD to benchmark and push your computer to the limit to compete with the top benchmarks in the world? So you've got a bunch of Titans yeh? Seeing as you're blowing money on an SSD that's barely better than the EVO I seriously hope that's what you're doing. Or do you just use it for general gaming and flicking through Facebook? Benchmarks don't mean shit unless you actually use it for what it is. Do YOUR research please. You spent too much money. Could have got a 500gb SSD with barely noticeable performance reduction for a few dollars more. Good job.

          Also just for lols
          http://www.megabuy.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=48223…

        • @geo365:

          LOL @ "barely noticeable performance"
If I can afford it, why not get the best? I'm not struggling to make ends meet.

BTW, it would cost $214.57 from Megabuy including delivery. PC Case Gear is 5 mins from my house. LOLS

          @pvo10:

Then why didn't you get the 1tb? If you're so rich. Gimping yourself just for a marginable performance boost is idiotic.

I spent $3500 building my desktop 3 months ago. Researched the hell out of this and it is seriously not worth the extra money. It is the best at a stupid premium. It is not HDD to SSD sort of premium, marginable. I can guarantee the difference between yours and mine is completely negligible you wouldn't even notice it unless you're benchmarking them side by side. I didn't cheap out on other components because they were the important thing for my gaming performance.

        • @geo365: cool story bro

        • -1

          @pvo10:

Thanks! Nice to see someone take it on the chin.

        • -1

@geo365: you sacrificed performance to save a couple of dollars. good for you. do you steal toilet paper from public toilets too?

        • @pvo10: so you've got all the bells and whistles then yeh? Didn't sacrifice anything on any of your computer components? Only the best for you, right? Aside from space ofcourse. Sure what use is space anyway?

    • PC Case Gear is overpriced in some areas and for delivery. Mwave is not any better either they charge me an additional $22 for a Processing Fee after I already paid for shipping and transit cover. I would probably go with ebay, amazon or kogan but even then they are not always that great.

$15 more and you could buy it locally with warranty.

    • +2

      support the local guys!

    • +2

warranty still requires to send back to manufacturer anyway

    • +1

Australian prices for some IT items are actually quite competitive, especially considering there is a 105 GST and 5.5% Import duty on these items. How strange to not be ripped off in the 'lucky' country.

      • Yeah that's cause they didn't whinge like Gerry Harvey. They got good at what they did, it's not Online Retailers that are destroying HN, they're just.. bad at what they do.

    • As much as I love Amazon, I decided to pick up one from Austin Computers for $145. Maybe it will work out cheaper in the long with my Coles MC and a drop in price in the next two years.

  • +1

This ssd is pretty good IMO, it decreased my boot time from 3-4 minutes (HDD) to 10-15 seconds

    • +3

pretty much any SSD is going to do that if you came from a HDD

  • -2

It's 89.9 NOW!! , lowest price ever since it published.
I want to re-post the deal but it just wasting time & effort + totally disrespectful to OP (I found out this deal after I almost post this SSD for 89.99)

    • Why repost, just ask OP or admin to update this deal.

OP/admin, please update with new price.

      FYI, that is 89.99 USD.

89.99 US Dollar equals 121.98 Australian Dollar

      Boom!

      • done, already PM him
as for your question, I already answered "but it just wasting time & effort + totally disrespectful to OP" and also because I want to get recogniztion or achievement. It have no money value but I want to get it, idk why.

      • +3

        89.99 + shipping = 96.03 USD which is what i posted.

    • +1

Uhmmm.. It's 89.99 USD, but 96.03 USD delivered, which is what I posted.

      It's the exact same price.
