      • Its fine for everyday light usage :) I use them all the time and much better than the old Ni-cad.

Ryobis are a notoriously heavy drill with 1.3AH, 10mm chuck and an hour plus charger(for a 1.3ah?). As someone who uses drills each and every day this deal is shit.

        • @r3volt: so keep the 1.5Ah at least?

  • This is a decent price just for the Li-Ion batteries alone. I already have a Ryobi drill-driver and it's a great drill for low-med applications. If going to be using frequently (eg, daily - 3+ times a week) the Li-Ion batteries are a must. I'm still working on my NiCad batteries and after some extended use it gets rather heavy and bulky.
I own the drill, a leaf blower, line-trimmer and multi-purpose detailer (oscillating saw-like tool) which all take the same batteries. After 4 years, batteries still going strong, but talk about heavy. The Li-Ion charger and single 1.3Ah battery are often at least $100 if not more if you intend on using multiple batteries or longer ones.

    Nice find!

awesome drill. better than the ozito.

    • Ozito drill for $99 is Nicad.

  • only 2 left at Box Hill

  • I have a Ryobi Blower and Snipper that uses a 18v 4.0ah Li-on battery.

Will these batteries that come with the drill work too on all my gear?

    • i guess it will be compatible but it just doesn't last as long as the 4.0ah as it only carries less current on battery.

  • Grabbed one from Rocklea (Brisbane). Was about 20 or so there

Parafield airport has 8 left. Modbury says they have 4 but they can't be found.

    • None left at Mile End. I got the last one.
Woman there said their regular price was $229 - but someone else in the thread said $179 was what they were told.
For a weekend warrior, it's great value for $99. If you are more than that, spend away :)

bought it this morning and just completed two jobs around the house … paid for itself already

  • I just picked one of these up from Fyshwick ACT.

They had 3 left on the shelf.

I am not a tradesman and will probably be using this thing only a handful of times a year.

Ran it past a mate who is a carpenter and he seemed to think it was a good deal.

  • I read this post and went down and grabbed one, good enough for me :)

  • Picked one up today from Woodville (Adelaide, SA) they had 6 left and are a promotional item. Other store (Prospect, SA) I went to didnt have them.

    • My friend and I picked up another 2 from wood like. One left after that.

      • Nice mate. Glad you got a couple.

Good price, but there is no way it's down from $299, more like $150-$180.

Also keep in mind that they usually have special combos for father's day with the brand name tools (Bosch, makita etc). I bought a set with drill + impact driver + batteries + charger for $199 last year I think for father in law and the same combo for same price for myself a year or two before. Both times i was told by staff it was a special pack for father's day. Just a heads up for anyone interested.

    • thanks for the heads up. (hey, i think it s you who replied to me in the hitachi deal post:P

i went to the bunning to check out this drill, but bought a $29 small/handy ozito one instead.

now i am waiting for the really good deal for a combo set (missed out the hitachi:( combo).

  • Damn Just bought the Ni-Cad pack for 99$ less than 2 weeks ago (Bunnings).

I'd make sure they have them in stock before going there. I drove all the way to the Ballarat Bunnings and found it to still be marked at $179, I asked the staff if I could have it for $99 they said no because the one in the deal has a "p" at the end of the model number and the one in the store has a "g" other than that they are identical.

  • There were 8 in Bunnings Joondalup (WA) yesterday morning, but they said they couldn't find them. Took me 20 mins of pestering for them to look properly. Eventually got an EWP & found them in storage on top of the racks.

  • Awesome deal got one was listed at Bunnings @ Nowra at $299 asked the sales rep to scan it come up as $99 he was trying to say the other Ryobi model was the only model @ $99 so make sure you check the model numbers. Just used it absolutely a great bargain and great drill for $99. Thanks op.

  • Staff at Hawthorn knew of the deal but said the last one had gone this afternoon. Staff at Northland (Preston, Victoria) knew nothing of the deal but helped me look and gave up, but I identified the item on a shelf in amongst the rest of the Ryobi stuff, ie no special promotion, marked at $179 but it scanned at $99.

  • none in West Footscray VIC

    • Ask for a raincheck at the the current price.

Bought the last one at Maribynong yesterday.

No more stock in Sunshine as well.

    Solid drill for the price!

  • 1 left Belmont WA

  • Grabbed the last one at Notting Hill, I went to the Bunnings at South Oakleigh VIC but they've sold out.

The gent at tools department didn't want to help me but the lady from info desk was extremely nice, she looked it up and secured the last one at Notting Hill store for me..

It will be extremely luck to get another one around South East suburb in VIC I would say..

  • Hey guys. Am I missing a note why this link may not be working? http://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-drill-kit_p6210552

    • The only ones I have been able to find at $99 are the NiCd version. For the Lithium version the model number is R18DD-LL13P.

  • Picked this up tonight at Bunnings Albion in Brisbane. Still had a few left.

    • before you open it, check that it is the Lithium version. For the Lithium version the model number is R18DD-LL13P.
