  • If I buy 6 of these, can I just keep porting my number over to a new sim card every month for a period of 6 months?

    • Yes you can

    • I would suggest collecting a few sims from other providers (vodafone sims don't have an expiration so they are good to stock) and porting between different providers each month. Vodafone don't really like you porting voda to voda each month and I assume optus are the same.

      • When do Optus prepaid sim cards expire? I am looking on their website, but can't find the critical information summary pdf.

        • It's on the packet. I bought one 2 months ago and it will expire March 2016 so they have a fairly long life.

        • @lkp:

Sorry, I wasn't clear. If I have an activated prepaid service, how many days after my credit expires will I have to recharge before my service is cancelled?

@tendollar: I think Optus expire in 30 days

        • @tendollar

It depends which plan you go with.

My Prepaid Monthly Plus: 6 months from last recharge.

My Prepaid Daily & My Prepaid Daily Plus: 30 days from last recharge.

@lkp: That's not long at all. Less than a year.

          @lostn: can't please everyone

        • -1

@lkp: Telstra sims give you two years, Voda have no expiry. It's not about pleasing, it's about being able to match competitors.

        • -1

@lostn: 2 years???? That isn't long at all compared to vodafone's no expiry.

        • -1

@lkp: It's more than twice as long as Optus' less than 1 year.

  • hey can i buy this to recharge my existing monthly prepaid optus sim card?

    • I don't think so

It's was the Coles $5 deal that expired last wed not Woolworths.

    • updated

      • The Coles deal should still be available. Last week's catalogue stated that the offer is valid 12/08-25/08.

        • @ maroon

Noticed my Coles had the sign still up saying the same (QLD)

If I use 12 starter kits, I will be saving $50 a year. Bah…not worth it. MIght try one out for fun then go back to a $20/month postpaid Sim only plan.

  • I got some Optus starter packs from the click frenzy deal and also from last week's coles deal. They all have an expiry of March 2016.

  • Do I get Optus rewards with this pack?

    • I believe you can but I haven't tried it out yet.

"Obviously not as good as the $5 coles deal that expired last week"

    • see comments above…. I too bought a coles sim on Sunday however this deal is still good if you don't want to spend $30 at coles
