  • I was tempted by this deal but talked myself out of it. I would be like 6 months from now regretting it when you can probably pick up skylake version at similar price.

And at that time you'll be talking yourself out because the next generation of chips just came out so in 6 months time you'll regret buying Skylake? :D

  • I was about to get one until I saw they have PWM induced screen flicker at all brightness levels below 100%. This causes headaches.
After checking two models personally, the UX303LB-C4028H with discrete graphics seemed worse with noticably strong flicker compared to a similar model UX303LA-C4167H (built in graphics) which I couldnt detect flicker.

I wish ebay had the Acer S7 in this sale, which I think is much safer.

This is the first time I've ever heard of such concept. PWM?

      • Pulse Width Modulation though the definition depends on the context.

      • PWM is pulse width modulation, where the LED is switched on and off at a high frequency to simulate dimming. e.g. it will be on for 25ms and off for 75ms for a 25% brightness setting. Some thought that this is not detectable by the human eye, but that premise makes the assumption that the eye is not moving (it can move at 900°/second, and some are affected more negatively than others by this.
