  • Except the color, what's the difference between Gold and silver ??

    • +1

The price. It's a lot harder to get hold of different colours from suppliers.

    • Gold color is limited edition and it's hard to get stock from Xiaomi.
Other than that, they are exactly the same.

  • Do you ship from Australia?

And out of interest, have you had any issues with Xiaomi with regards to being an Australian company? I recall they closed down an Australian importer sometime last year?

    • +1

Yes, all orders will be dispatched from our Sydney warehouse.
We don't have any problem with Xiaomi.
Unlike the oversea seller that got shut down, our company name is Mushtato and website is mushtato.com.au since 2010.
Both of them has nothing to do with Xiaomi's trademark :)

    • +32

First of all, we need to pay GST and other taxes to Australian government :\
That means your 12 months local warranty is secured.
Secondly, AusPost is fast that can deliver to major city within AU in 1-4 business days.
But they are more expensive than oversea courier companies. (3-4 WEEKS)
Most importantly, we guarantee genuine products from Xiaomi.
Unlike oversea sellers, we DO NOT mix fake product with genuine product to reduce cost and increase profit.
      Our products are 100% genuine.
      No tricks ;)

      • +2

It's not that expensive anyway, Hdieu

      • +15

^ This. I may be a store rep of an overseas competitor, but I still get mine from Mushtato for these reasons.

      • I used mushtato to buy my 16000 Xiaomi. It had fast delivery and warranty. Great business, and great to buy from Oz

      • These guys are great. I bought MiBand from them (at price premium compared to China), but when I had problem 3 months down the track, they looked after me and provided great customer service.

So by all means, if you want to save money in short term and gamble - buy goods from China (nothing wrong with that - I do this myself for some items).
However, if you want peace of mind and delivery in 3 business days (from NSW to VIC), and ability to get support when things go wrong - Mushtato is the way to go. Especially for Xiaomi gear which is genuine in their store.

I will buy from them again.

        • Thank you for your support :)

    • +2

Bro, trust me, the biggest mistake I have made so far is ordering products off Gearbest instead of Musthato. I though to myself 'meh, I can wait a few weeks and save a few bucks' but trust me IT IS NOT WORTH IT. It is so much hassle, and Gearbest is THE WORST online shop I have ever used. Really wish I'd used mushtato.

  • Hi Rep, just wondering what the contents in the box are, apart from the actual powerbank haha.

    Thanks.

    • +1

more cardboard and a short usb cable.

      • Ah, thanks! In the "what's included" section all it says is "1pc New Xiaomi 10000mAh Power Bank (SIlver)"

        • Box also includes a fancy sticker with a peel off code so you can put it into XiaoMi's website to prove if it's genuine.

      • +2

        100% correct! (thumb up!)
There is a 15cm Micro USB to USB recharge cable inside.
You can use it to recharge this power bank or charge your Android devices.
For Apple devices, you can use your own Lightning cable.
Also, there is a 20-digits Authentication code on the box.
You can use the code to check on Xiaomi official website to see if it's genuine.

        • I bought two. I luv mushtato.

  • +2

do a deal on the 16000 models?

    • +3

Xiaomi 16000mAh power bank is on schedule for 15th or 16th.
Next week will be Xiaomi Mi Scale.
(Yep, we finally work out a delivery solution for this fragile item…
It will arrived in one piece :P)

      • U got a price on dat?

        • +14

We will go as low as TA can twist our arms :P

        • +3

          @mushtato:
TA, the ball is in your court now. I am waiting for this deal

        • @bghunter: Historically it's been at $39.95 for the 16000mAh

  • Just bought one, thanks TA and Mushtato. Quick question for Mushtato, how well does this charge an ipad (not mini) ?

    • +1

Official information is one full charge for iPad mini.
Apple iPad mini 3 has 6470mAh battery capacity.
For regular iPad, it can probably charge 60~70%.
We will recommend Xiaomi 16000mAh power bank.
      It suits tablets better.
      http://www.mushtato.com.au/xiaomi-16000mah-portable-mi-power…

    • +1

I got one recently and it works fine on iPad 4.

Edit: It will not get quite a full charge with 10000mAh pack.

  • +2

Nothing against Mushtato, but these were @ $16.50 delivered from Banggood about 2 weeks ago. This is 60% more expensive. OK deal if you want faster delivery and warranty from Oz company, but I think 60% extra is too much of a premium to pay for these factors. The one I got from previous Banggood deal checked out genuine using code on Xiaomi website. Working perfectly too. I would have gone with Mushtato if they were @ $20 delivered.

    • +1

      Official price from Xiaomi CNY$69=AUD$15.33.
Forget about tax and fees, we really wish AusPost can do any deliver within AU for AUD$5.00 with tracking, signature and insurance :\
Besides, Mushtato's Xiaomi product is guaranteed genuine.

      • +2

The Xiaomi 10000mAh power banks from bang good are genuine. Got mine for around $16 delivered, took under 2 weeks to arrive. Awesome.

        • oh wow thanx for pointing that out man, i checked now and the silver one is 17.14 delivered.
          the 16000 mah is $43.
but if i buy 2 of the 10000mah it will be 4000mah bigger and still cheaper. any suggestions?

    • +2

You can thank Auspost for the premium price as well, it costs $10.40 for registered parcel with signature if it's below 500g to post it locally. Postage from China/Hong Kong costs next to nothing.

      • +7

Auspost needs to die in a fire.
        Incompetent staff…
        Rude staff…
        Slow deliveries…
        Lost deliveries…

Slogan should read "We overcharge and we might deliver."

        • +1

The prices they charge are laughable.
Have they ever considered the reason why they're losing money is because theyre charging so much that businesses would rather use couriers like fastway?
Even USPS charges less to get a letter/package to australia than for us to send it across halfway there

        • @nairdajun: I've greatly reduced my AusPost usage since their recent price hikes. Maybe it's the cost of rent and labor here.

Australia Post have to run lots of physical retail stores with rent and staff costs that courier companies don't have to pay for. They also have to deliver letters that lose them money according to their reports.

USPS has the benefit of having a 13x larger market, and companies like Amazon probably ship more packages a month than Australia Post does in a year. :)

        • @eug: They also deliver letters to the wrong address. I had an agent send something to WA office on my behalf from Melbourne, and the postie delivered it to my address in WA, even though my address was at the back of the envelope and clearly had "SENDER:" on it

  • excellent battery a major improvement over the 10400 version.
highly recommend to get a silicone case as the edges are sharp that may scratch your phone.

REP: do you sell any silicone case for xiaomi 10000mAh?

      Thank you for your support.
Silicone case is not available at the moment.

      • How is the 10000 better than the 10400?(which I have)

        • Similar to comparing the 5000mAh with 5200mAh version.
          Smaller in size.
          Lighter in weight.

        • @mushtato:
So there is no 'major improvement' as @wjb says above?

        • @albanyson: They used better quality battery cells.
4 battery cells for 10400mAh version.
3 for the new 10000mAh model.

  • under $18 shipped from gearbest. If you are happy to wait ~4 weeks. Plus GB dollars and cashrewards.

    http://www.gearbest.com/iphone-power-bank/pp_187685.html

    • +2

2 months later, I still have yet to receive an item ordered from Gearbest. So no.

      • -1

have you been in contact? 2 months is way to long. get on to them they have great customer service. my waits have always been 10-35 days.

        • +1

Yup, and they had told me my items had been shipped. When I inquired a week later as to why no tracking number had been issued, I was told my items were not in stock. When I asked for a refund, they told me a refund would be issued in 3-4 days. 3-4 days in, when I inquired as to the refund and asked if I needed to lodge a paypal dispute. I was then told that no refund would be issued since I had threatened to lodge a dispute with paypal.

I have had to escalate the issue to paypal direct since Gearbest refuse to even try to help me out in this matter. It is truly the worst experience I have ever had with a gadget reseller.

The worst part is, the product said it would ship in 3-5 days since I wanted it for a birthday present. Almost three months later, still nothing. I just can't trust them after such a terrible experience and such terrible, antagonistic customer service.

        • +1

yeah that's not good at all. Very different from my experiences. Hopefully paypal sorts it for you.

        • -1

@Phsyke: If i were you i would have threatened to publicize on ozbargain about your poor customer service, and in future your deals will be negged and downvoted. Im pretty sure they make quite a substantial amount from this community

        • +1

@nairdajun: the saddest part is, I shouldn't have to threaten anything at all in the first place. It shouldn't be so difficult for them to either a) only sell products they have in stock like most websites do (or at least note the stock levels) or b) arrange a refund in the event that they do not ship anything.

The constant back and forth with them has been the worst part, especially when they keep promising to either ship an item or provide a refund when they haven't done either. I shouldn't have had to escalate this matter to paypal to get resolved. When that happens, it tells me there is something very wrong with the seller.

        • @nairdajun: Why did I get downvoted? Was it not a good point?

    • +2

dont buy from gearbest, struggling to get refunded after months

  • Great deal from a local vendor..

I bought the 5 and 16Ah versions from them in the recent eBay click and collect deal. Pity Mushtato didn't have any stock of the 10Ah ones back then, otherwise I would have bought 4.

    • Thank you for supporting Aussie business :)

  • -1

Can we get a deal on the 5000mah rep? Kinda P!sses me off that you'll bundle the 10000mah and 5000mah (for a measly $12.95) but for repeat customers who've already purchased the 10000mah from you we get nothing…

    • Not to worry.

  • Decent price for local stock

  • Hi Mushtato

Can you please combine this with Miband similar to last weeks deal on Pistons. ie This + miband for 20 extra?

    • Our web team suggests the listing is set for now.
They can't change it for now.
We will put it in our next promotion :)

  • I think a miband + scale deal will be most appropriate!

    • +1

    • +2

      It's alive~~~~
      LOL :P

  • +1

    Hi Rep

Are the prices different if we pick up from your shop?

    • Yep, we can provide GST invoice, 1-4 business days fast shipping and 12 months local warranty.

      • Thanks

    • The product is the same.

  • Hi Mushtato

Is that promotional 5000mah Mi battery a slim 5000? also is the apple lightning cable genuine apple and not generic?

    • Thank you for your enquiry.
5000mAh and 16000mAh will be on promotion the week after next week.
The Lightning cable and adapter we are selling is 100% genuine from Apple.
You won't have any problem after updating your system.

      • im assuming it will come in Apple packaging as well?

        • No, there will no packaging for them.
For cable, they will be put aside the power bank and wrap together.
For adapter, we will put it inside the power bank to avoid damage during shipping.
          So, no packaging for them.

      • 5000mAh and 16000mAh will be on promotion the week after next week.

Thanks ill be keeping an eye out for the 5000mAh.

  • Any chance you could do $9.95 on the genuine Lightning cables? I'd love to grab a couple. :) Thanks.

    • The Lightning cable and adapter are not for sale separately.
As they are genuine and hard to get stock, we only put them with Xiaomi products as add-on to reward our Xiaomi fans :)

      • In addition to the Xiaomi. What's the best deal you can do on Xiaomi 10000mah, 2xLightning cables, and a Lightning adapter?

      • +1

hi rep, ill be waiting on the special for the 16000mah version, hopefully you can offer us the best deal

        • Pretty sure TA will try to squeeze the best deal out of us :\

  • I have a 7 lite Samsung Tab. Will this one work for it? and how much of a charge can I expect if it does? I am looking to get 2x the charge if possible for a powerbank. My Tab seems to only hold up approx 3.5 (guestimate) hours as it is before I have to recharge.

    • Most Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" has a battery of 4000mAh.
You will get around 1.7~2 time charge using this item if it's not in use.
We will recommend Xiaomi 16000mAh power bank.
      It suits tablets better.
      http://www.mushtato.com.au/xiaomi-16000mah-portable-mi-power…

      • Thanks for responding so quickly, I think I am in agreement. You stated the 16000 will be on sale soon? next week or closer to the 15th? also do you have an idea of the price it will be just an estimate is fine? Found one on Ebay for 39.98 will yours be less when it goes onsale?

@TA??? can you work on that price for us, as in less then 40.00 for it ??? love to pay 30.00 or less for it?

May seem like a silly question but how do you charge this powerbank? does an AC adapter come with it to charge using a wall socket or do you have to purchase something separate? I read somewhere that using a laptop to charge it will take forever?

        • Yup using a laptop will take forever. Just use the charger that came with your phone. A 5.3V 2A charger is best.

  • Bought the same product from Banggood weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. Hopefully this one comes a bit quicker this is a solid deal.

    • you'll be in safe hands. I was in the same boat as you, deciding whether to go for banggood or Mush. I was convinced that the premium that Mush charges is fair and that his/her service is wonderful. You can see this with the prompt responses made throughout the day by the company for this deal.

  • All 200 of the silver 10000mAh have sold and the link now shows nothing.

    • I would also like to add that your website could be improved. I put in an order earlier for 2 10000mAh and added 2 16000mAh at promo price - total $110.80. When choosing to pay via PayPal checkout - skipping your checkout, the price quoted to PayPal was $100.79 which is the price before GST. I could have paid this amount and then headaches would have followed for the both of us. Instead I went back, went through your checkout system then paid with PayPal for the total of $110.80. Not sure if all orders are affected by this..

Edit: Can confirm that any order is affected by this. When in cart and I click PayPal checkout, instead of "Go to checkout", I am redirected to the PayPal page and the requested total is the price before GST. Might want to get your webdev to look into it ASAP.

      • +1

        Thank you for your information.
That is a problem with PayPal's design.
PayPal was originally designed in US and they don't have GST there.
As a result, when you first transfer to the quote page on PayPal, they won't display the total including GST.
Guess they added the GST function later on when they landed in AU.
Overall, our website's checkout page will display the correct amount.
Once you jump to PayPal, the quote page will display excluding GST.
Then when you complete the details and reach the final page on PayPal, it will display the correct amount again.
You won't be charged any extra or less that's for sure.

We've contacted PayPal in regard to this issue.
They said they will improve it.
That was few years ago :\

  • repeated since the store rep has not responded:

Store Rep, You stated the 16000 will be on sale soon? Is it next week or closer to the 15th? also do you have an idea of the price it will be, just an estimate is fine? I found one on Ebay for 39.98 will yours be less when it goes on-sale?

    • +1

It will be on promotion the week after next week.
We cannot give you an exact price as we cannot predict the currency exchange rate 2 weeks later.
However, we will try our best to put a solid deal for Aussie customer :)

Just picked mine up from the post office! Ordered not long after the deal was posted.

    Thanks TA & Rep!

    • +2

      That was fast!

      • Haha yep! But to be honest I do only live within 20 minutes of where the tracking started (Granville NSW) so it didn't spend much time in transit.
