  • That's a surprisingly good deal, what about MMS?

    • +3

      In the table "Plan details"

      Standard MMS Unlimited

      • +2

Considering I'm sick of the poor signal quality on my 3G only Telechoice (Telstra) plan, I'd damn near consider this.
How can they do unlimited unlimited, that's nuts (obv not to mobiles) but still, wow.

        • +3

It's unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles

        • +1

          @WaywardOne:

          WTF?
          So it's … unlimited unlimited?

        • +3

          @hamwhisperer:

Yeah I think the only differences between the unlimited plans is the amount of data included

        • +1

@WaywardOne: its all about the data these days kids ;)
but this is a seriously nice deal with 2gb

  • Damn, if only Woolworths/Coles still did the 50% off Recharges!

  • +2

Good deal, but it's still $5 to $10 more than what I would pay for it.
I don't really need that unlimited stuff, just need like an hour and a max of data.
I still don't understand why we cannot find a plan with lots of data and not so much of a talk.

    • +2

Yatango let you customise plan although the value is far from amazing.

    • I'm in a similar boat, I need 4 hours of outgoing calls a month at most… unlimited SMS, unlimited MMS and I dunno, I'd like 3gb or more. Just so I can relax, I often am super hesitant to use my phone for anything (1gb at the moment)

      EDIT:
I was about to consider signing on to this plan, I thought I was paying $25/month with Telechoice but I'm on an old, $20 plan.
1gb data is a little low (sometimes) other months I use less than half of that.
Considering my income (love this job market) I'll stick with the savings.

Good to see though that plans are coming down to reasonable prices though, $30 for 2gb with a lot of calls and text isn't bad.

    • -1

This is such a good deal what are you talking about? The fact that this is 4G data, and the fact that it's unlimited everything is so good. Maybe you need to look at a data-only sim. Or just a pay-as-you-go plan with a monthly data pack added on.

      • +7

He's a tightass, like me - some of us simply don't use our phones enough to justify an extra $10 per month.
        That's $120 a year, $1200 a decade, with compound interest, more.

Some of us are tight with our money. Only reason I have decent savings, isn't hard work or a good job, it's being smart / tight.

      • He didn't say it wasn't a good deal. As hamwhisperer says he's a tightass wanting to save $5/10 per month.. and I see nothing wrong with that, and neither should most Ozbargainers.

    • -1

Think the other way. The cost of the plans of most mobile vendors are really measured by the data provided. Unlimited or large quantity of voice and SMS are there mainly for cosmetic purpose and they really don't take up a lot of bandwidth as data does. So even if Amaysim provided you a big data and small voice/sms plan, you wouldn't be looking at a cost down of $5 or $10, probably just $1 or $2.

  • +3

    Awesome deal

  • Awesome deal. Very tempting.. But I'm not sure about coverage compared to telstra.. especially out in the sticks. for $30 I get 1.3GB Tesltra and compromising coverage I'm not sure it's worth the extra 700MB of data.

I also get $30 of google play credit to spend on movies, apps and books every month.

    Excellent deal none the less.

    • used telstra before and found that they charge you >$1 for checking voice mail from the $30 credit. which sucks, checking voice mail is free mostly with others

      • +3

You can get around the Telstra Prepaid voicemail ripoff if you dial your own number and enter # and your voicemail PIN to retrieve your voicemail - it just comes off your included minutes like other calls. I have the number and PIN programmed in my phone. No more voicemail retrieval ripoff.

      • Voicemail is now charged from the $250 credit with the new Freedom Plus offer

      • I used to use the text to voice option, now I use the answering machine app on my phone.. which is free.

        • Can you please share the app. Thank you

        • +1

          @vijay Alapati:
It's part of the phone application, not a separate one. Came stock with my xperia

        • @Tcm9669: Shame i use samsung which has no suck option i guess

        • @vijay Alapati:

          You do.

The "suck option" in Samsung phones is called TouchWiz.

  • Amaysim are a good provider and backed by Optus 4G, on their Unlimited 5GB plan and have no complaints!

  • +2

Similar deal: Spintel Unlimited voice, 200 SMS and 4gb data for $33/month. 1000 SMS is $36 and unlimited SMS is $39.

    • +3

Thanks for informing us. Spintel has a great deal for me, 200 minutes, 200 SMS and 4GB data for $27/month. I am on a Amaysim Groupon deal which expires in a few weeks, if nothing better pops up, I will switch to Spintel.

      • IMHO the best part is that if you go over one month they bump you up to the next level for $3 or $6. No nasty surprises. You do need to manually reset to the lower level to go back, but not a big deal.

  • Damn this is bloody tempting seeing as I normally reach my standard call allowance on my current plan..

    LiveConnected $17.99 + $10 freeze fee
    $700 calls
    $900 calls to Vaya/LC
    2GB Data
Unlimited Social Networking (Facebook usage does not affect data cap)
    Unlimited standard SMS/MMS
    4G Optus

What's better value? Help a brotha out OzBargain…

    • Hm I don't recall ever seeing that plan. So you pay $27.99/month for what you just listed?

    • I used to be with Live Connected and then they screwed me with billing charges when I left, I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.

  • Hmm, tempting.
I'm currently on Virgin Mobile with a byo plan costing $20 a month. I get the normal amount of calls(not unlimited) but only 1.2GB data. Virgin use the Optus network anyway so I wouldn't be losing out on coverage.

How can they do these sorts of deals when other companies charge so much more?

    • +2

I got negged for this? :P

    • Because you're making the assumption that "competition" has led to a cut throat market when the reality is Australia's telcos are extremely profitable and have in fact offered less and less value to consumers over the past 3 years - which is another way of saying they're making money at a faster rate now than before.

      • So, why doesn't that person correct me rather than leave an anonymous negative vote?

Anyway, I don't want to go further off topic so I'll just leave it there. But seriously some people just don't make sense.

        • Site-supported cowards. We can sniper comments, but not deals.

  • I am paying the same amount of $30 to Optus pre-paid for 1GB data with data rollover feature and unlimited calls plan. Would switch to this if this has data rollover as well.

    • +6

If you're rolling over part of your 1GB every month, wouldn't this be better as it has 2GB even though it doesn't have rollover?

      • Not sure about this Unlimited Plan, but my Flexi Plan has rollover one both data and call credit. I didn't use my phone one month (away) and saw $39.90 credit and 1Gb.

    • I'm on the same plan but Optus prepaid plus so you get 1.5gb data with rollover unlimited calls and text for $30

      • Optus plans usually include some credit you can use for International Calls/SMS; with Amaysim you need to add some credit for Global Roaming and calls outside your plan allowance. Rates are still good; it's just not included in call credit.

        • I just switched to Optus prepaid $30. I get 125 minutes of overseas calls to UK, USA, etc included, as well as the above.

  • +1

spintel on same network has 4gb unlimited calls etc for $39….for $9 more I'd rather that….optus has 8gb $50 till 5th October…depends on your needs

  • I've just changed to this plan. Was on the Unlimited 5G $44.90 plan and hardly ever used the data (I am on my PC most of the time) so this seems the perfect plan for me. Thanks, OP.

  • I'm still on Amaysim and received this service update in my inbox.
But even with this unlimited upgrade, still thinking about porting out my number, to Vaya! Their plan are much cheaper and heard heaps of positive words of mouth on their network coverage/strength.

    • +1

thinking about porting out my number, to Vaya! Their plan are much cheaper and heard heaps of positive words of >mouth on their network coverage/strength.

They use exactly the same 4G resold Optus network. There will be no difference between Amaysim and Vaya as far as network goes.

      • Comes down to customer service, many virtual providers out there using Optus network.

    • +4

I used to be with Vaya, and so did my GF, brother and dad.

They stuffed up 3 of our 4 ports - 2 of them didn't have data for 2 weeks (had to go to TIO before they fixed it within 24 hours) and the other was stuck in port for ages, for which they blamed telstra.

We all ported away from Vaya after various billing issues (double billed was common, i was billed 10 times once in an error).

      Never going back to Vaya!

    • +2

I would check out the user comments on Whirlpool before you switch to Vaya. They don't have anything nice to say about them usually. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/

  • Thanks for the deal OP. Looks great.

Here's the link minus affiliate code if anyone's interested:

  • Is there anything better than this that offers unlimited calls? I'm on Vaya Power 18 plan and have gone over the limit twice. Vaya won't let me upgrade to the next plan - said I can only downgrade the plan.. weird system. Want to port out. This is at the top of the list. I prefer Optus 4G due to the price. Help is appreciated. Cheers

    • +1

Very happy with Amaysim, Optus 4G network is stable and fast. Amaysim Customer Service has always been helpful when/if trouble arises.

  • +1

    International call not included?

    • +1

      It doesn't look like it.

Lihat paket Vodafone sudah termasuk bebas telpon 300 menit

edit: damn, it looks like they have reduced their international calls from 300 to 90 minutes on most plans (unless you go to an expensive plan).

      • vodafone network is unusable on at my home

        • Ah that sucks. If you want to call back home check out didlogic.com
Cheapest rate and very very good quality calls. We spend $10-20 USD per month with them, Istriku asli dari Surabaya…

    • Need to add credit for international calls.

  • can I recharge my amaysim with this?

    • You can change plans.

  • I think spintel is better as it has 4gb data with less than 30 bucks. They use Optus 4G network too.

    • Spintel Mobile — Unlimited Voice $12, Unlimited Text $12, 4GB $10 = $39. How do you come up to "less than 30 bucks"? Having just 200 minutes voice & 200 text?

      • Unlimited voice $12 + Unlimited text $12 + 4GB data $15 = $39

        • Argh typo. 4GB $15 so the total = $39.

          $12 + $12 + $10 should be $34 anyway.

        • @scotty:

Yeah, just checked the spintel website and saw that the data is $15. No worries, all good.

  • Yeah i need more data and these days all messages are sent with whatsapp and wechat and line app. Not sure others but i hardly send or receive any txt messages.

  • I've been using amaysim for 12months and I'm very happy with the coverage in Brisbane or the Gold Coast. I've never had any issues with data charges. This plan looks like good value, thumbs up from me!

  • -2

unfortunately need international calls, otherwise best deal for me!

    • You can add some credit for international calls, Optus plans include some credit you can use for international but it doesn't last long.

      • Optus plan lasts includes 2 hours to the USA and UK, and for $10 you can buy another 4 hours add on. Is that not long?

        • well not everyone calling to USA and UK i guess

  • I've been with amaysim for years, no complaints, great coverage. Would def recommend.

  • +1

make it 3gb and i'm sold for 1 year to you my lord

    • Lebara gives you 4gb on autorecharge (normally only 2gb but gets doubled by autorecharge)

  • Boost, no contract, $40 unlimited talk/text. 3GB data per month + 1GB extra data free every Sunday (7GB total per month)— and flying out on Telstra 3G, so you have the best connectivity of all of them.

I don't see anyone else even close to this.

    IMHO

    • Another 1/3 $ ($10/mth) but only 3G, LOL.
Doesn't offer $10 referral discount or 3mths at half price, cashback.

1GB/mth extra, plus 1gb/sunday (quick download something!)

      Value for very specific interests.

  • For int'l calls, wait for the next 50% off Skype credit, buy, & connect through that. Cheap-as!

    FYI

    :)
