The new version, released yesterday, comes in at $299 for the cheapest option. Back in May Motorola cut the price of the Moto 360 v1 to $149.

Taking those two things together, it's not unexpected that the old, outdated Moto 360 would take a further dive with the new one announced.

    • +84

The new one is $299 - American dollars. Which is currently about three million Australian dollars.

Also - for anyone who didn't hear - they now support iPhones.

      • Interesting. Does the iOS compatibility apply to the Moto 360 v1 or v2, or both?

        Thanks.

        • Google announced support for all Android Wear watches.

        • +2

          @KentT:

I don't think that is correct.

"Today, Android Wear for iOS works with the LG Watch Urbane. All future Android Wear watches, including those from Huawei (pictured above), ASUS, and Motorola will also support iOS, so stay tuned for more."

          http://googleblog.blogspot.com.au/2015/08/android-wear-now-w…

        • @KentT:
          http://modmyi.com/content/20302-google-begins-rolling-out-an…

"The reason Google has chosen to prevent older smartwatches from being able to pair with an iPhone is because the company can guarantee that all upcoming smartwatches will be compatible with future software updates, while the same can't be said for legacy smartwatches."

        • @unco:
Yeah, that's all hedging. I haven't heard of any model not work.

If you have an odd model, check youtube first - filter for videos updated in the last week - someone will have tried it already.

The original 360 definitely works though. Same with LG, ASUS, Samsung

Just install the latest version of Android Wear, and make sure your iOS is reasonably up to date.

        • @unco:

Officially its only newer watches, but in practice the older smartwatches work too, provided they can run the newest wear (eg the Moto360 v1)

        • @chewkl: It's extremely weird, but my Samsung Gear 2 (not native Android Wear - Tizen based with a hacked Android Wear rom flashed) synced without any issues with the wear iOS app….so go figure.

        • It applies for any android wear device running the latest update. The catch is that older devices do not ship with the latest update. This is why they don't officially announce support for the older models. No other real reason.

I got a Moto 360 on the day of iOS compatibility and I can confirm it works, but I needed an Android phone to perform the updates.

Can any users speak to the battery life of the device? I'm on my second proper day with it and I'm still seeing pretty terrible battery usage. Took it off charge at 7:45am and it's already down to 62% only five hours later. Ambient and Wrist Gestures off. Tilt to wake on. Using the ustwo Air watchface. Haven't been running any apps or navigating.

        • @tp0: so it will run out of juice around 1/2 day???? :(

        • @ZombieLover: Every other report I see regarding the battery life seems to indicate otherwise. People also mention the battery life can be a bit erratic during the first week.

Currently it's been on my wrist for 6 hours and I'm at 55%

        • @tp0: i'm looking for one at the moment. i have the code from paypal to get it for $99 with discount. however, I read many good review for LG Urbane $299 at DWI + $10 shipping insurance and the Lg can stay for 1 and half day.

        • @tp0: My battery life was terrible for the first week. Now I sometimes get home and it has 40-50% charge left. For example today I took it off the charger at 9am and now at 3:15pm it has 59% and i have been using it to send messages and other interactions.

      • True, but just pointing out that AU$427 for the new one would mean the old ones getting shifted quick, and that with the existing price cut AU$147 isn't an unreasonable figure.

  • +1

Likely a real price because the gen2 Moto 360 is being released very soon

Still a great watch - wearing mine now :) The silver one you have linked to looks much nicer than the black one too, IMO (this is the one I have, with a $17 metal band off eBay)

    • +1

      how is the battery life?

      • Battery life is fine. I have had mine since day dot..I put it on in the morning (6:30am) at around about 85% and when I get back from work like 5:30 its about 35-45%.

        • +1

I was keen on a 360 until I read Wear OS app reviews on Play store and there were just so many 360 owners complaining that each update caused them lots of hassle like having to factory reset to get it to work. I think they're the best looking of all of the watches so far.

  • Damn bought this for $210 @ Kogan during the eBay 20% off, but that's with the black leather band

    • +1

I just bought a steal band of ebay for $16. So all up $180.22 for a 'Metal Silver' version.

      • +5

If you stole the band why did you pay $16?

        • Sorry, meant "steal of a band"

  • +6

I was waiting for the v2, but with now with the specs released - I got this for $164.22 delivered through this deal. The v2 will come out here in a couple of months @ around $430 AUD with the current exchange rate and I wouldn't be surprised if it's more like $450. For me this is more of an experiment, for all I know this this could end up in my tech junk draw in a couple of months. Thanks for posting OP!

    • +4

      AU$430 + GST + AU markup.

      Likely $499.

This is a bargain. Unless you're after the non-gorilla-arm-sized version.

  • Has anyone dealt with this seller before? Info regarding warranty issue, shipping, originality etc will be appreciated

  • +1

Cheers for the post OP. Keen to try out android wear and now that it's compatible with iOS, this is a great way to start.

  • How about LG Urbane Watch?

  • +13

Guys for free shipping, use the code newweb at checkout.

    • +4

Oh FFS! Could have saved $14

      • +3

Apologies mate. Wasn't aware of this code.

        • +1

All good. Still cheaper than previous deals!

      • +2

        me too. damn

EDIT: nevermind, called them up to cancel the order and now re-ordered with the coupon!

    • Purchased, ripper mate!

  • So tempting! ugh.

  • Quite a substantial saving over the price during eBay 20% sale. Tempting indeed…

  • Damn, just bought a Pebble with the DSE deal a couple days ago.

  • +1

    Good deal bought one.thx!

  • +1

Thanks, got one.. been waiting for this to come under $150..

  • +3

Called them up, they dont have any stock with them. Vendor Stock ETA is mid-Nov, so another 2.5 months. Go Figure !

    • So if you buy it you have to wait for 2.5 months to get it?

    • +2

So they had no stock in their warehouse to begin with? That's pretty shite. I mean it's a really good price but still. Damn.

      • When I posted the deal it was showing in stock. After about an hour it showed preorder 2-3 weeks.

        • +1

I ordered, when it still showed In Stock. But after the order, I gave a call to check Stock and this is what I got from their side !

  • So cheap I feel ripped off by Kogan even with 20% off and even cheaper than MobileCity $199…

  • +1

Think I might cancel the order. Don't want to wait till Nov to receive the watch. Good deal though OP.

    • I think I might wait a couple of days and if my order still says in progress I might cancel too. Can't believe we have to wait till November. I got excited when I posted this and said it was in stock :(

    • Yet it still says 2-3 weeks on their site. Kinda dodgy they still haven't updated it.

  • Link is not working :(

  • 2 months is long wait. Good luck guys

  • I think this will not go through. I rang them up and they said they have no ETA.

  • I rang up and the ETA is still 25th November - cancelled mine.

  • +1

Email from i-tech: Your order # has been updated to: Backorder

1 of MOTOROLA MOTO 360 Light Chrome with Light Leather Band 4GB + 512mb RAM Android Wear TI OMAP 3 Corning has been put on backorder. ETA is on 25/11/2015.

    • Same. Cancelled my order.
This is BS since I ordered when they showed they had stock. Did they have any stock to begin with?

  • They put my order to back-order status and said the ETA is mid Nov. Enough time for the price to plummet with 2nd gen around a month or so. I smell a scam here. Canceled the order.

    • A scam? Really?

Tech store that has been around for years which generally stocks items in the single digits lowers the price of a good purely to get a user they have no affiliation with to unwittingly post the deal on Ozbargain to generate a huge influx of orders! All of which ultimately get cancelled! Yes a scam indeed!

      • Think of all the orders that don't get cancelled. They can get the watch for rock bottom prices and make a decent profit.
Any store worth its name should indicate it's low volume, like shopping express when they do that epic got sales. Not wait until closer to a week to tell you that you wouldn't get the item until after two months.

        • 1) $150 is pretty rock bottom - I would can imagine it getting to $120 on some kind of limited sale but don't foresee it sub $100 for a while.
          2) This wasn't an "epic sale" nor was it advertised.
          3) Closer to a week? You mean 1 business day.

        • @DrStinge:
Yes, I guess you are right. I'm caught up in the heat of the moment, just disappointed that I couldn't get the deal.

        • @kotobuki:

          Me too :(
But we saved $150! It was a bit of a vanity purchase for me.

    • I-Tech refunded my order, pretty fast I must say.

  • I've cancelled my order as well and decided to buy it from pc byte using the ebay click and collect voucher. It worked out to be about $30 more. I'd rather pay more than buying from a seller who lies about the item being in stock. I will never shop from these guys again.

    • +2

how did you get it for $180? when i go to their site it's over $200

      • I believe it's with this click and collect voucher: http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/clickandcollect

The watch is $231.80 on pcbyte's ebay store, so with the $50 back it comes to $181.80

        • Just realized the $50 offer is over now. Check the above link. It says,

The offer will commence at 7.00am (AEST) on 28 July 2015 and end on 23:59 (AEST) on 3 August 2015 (“Offer Period”).

But if you still want it, OnlyOnline ebay store has it for $205, and can use click and collect.

      • Sorry for the late response. EBay was doing a get 50 bucks voucher when selecting click and collect at big w or Woolworth for a purchase over 100 bucks (I think). I hadn't planned on using it on anything; so after hearing this back order nonsense from these guys I looked up for the cheapest moto360 on eBay and only online had the cheapest for 206 bucks so I paid about $156 in the end.

I ordered it in the morning and it's already been dispatched. It's pretty damn faster than i-techs lol

        • I got this deal too plus using cash rewards rebate.

I opted for the free delivery which came by TOLL anyway 2 days later!

Just waiting on the voucher now.

If you have Amazon Underground, the the Premium Watchmaker is free and grab plenty of free faces from Face Repo

    • That's a good deal. What's the ETA?

      • I got mine in 2 days but I'm in Sydney.

        • What do you think of it so far? I saw a guy wearing one the other day and thought it looked pretty good.

        • +1

          @Kendrite13:

So far so good. I upgraded from an white LG G watch that I bought a couple months ago and wanted to try a round (albeit with flat tyre) smart watch.

The firmware upgrade making this wifi enabled and heart rate monitor was a worthwhile reason to upgrade.

I have been thinking about the urbane or even Huawei watch but can't justify the cost when this came along.

My next purchase is likely the HTC watch when it gets released, as they undoubtedly make a quality product.

  • Merged from Moto 360 Ordered In September Has Been Shipped
