  • Anyone know if these ones can be unlocked for use with other Carriers?

      • +1

Thank you! This is a great deal then. Brilliant if it was 4G, but for $10 you can't beat this price.

        • +1

You can put the sim in a 4G modem and get 4G. I have done that with Optus 3G sims, should also work with Vodafone.

        • @adr8:

Really? Which PocketWifi model are you using?

I only get H (I presume HSDPA) in mine (HB4F1 model)

        • @devpress: Huawei E5377 & E5786 which are 4G modems, is your modem 4G capable?

    • +1

Tried to unlock one from the previous deal at harvey norman using vodafone unlock page and it said the modem is not locked to vodafone network, so I think you can use it with whatever carrier you want.

  • Also OP, would be handy if you included the Store location as well.

    • +1

Sorry didn't put it in the description because it was on the receipt. Store is Goulburn (NSW)

I would love to have a a normal $15 smartphone that has got the look of a 10$ dumb phone but that can hotspot..

then I would easily pair it with my iPod Touch and have a classy win-win option…

surely if this same device was built to make/recieve calls as well as do this purpose, it would be more saleable…

This is a router not a phone plus 3gigs of data for ten bucks what more are you after?

      • yeah.. was going on a rant about what I wished it was… :)

I want whatever you are on

Good deal for 3gigs of data

  • +3

No deal in Sunnybank park Woolworths

    • Did you ask the staff?

  • +1

It seems it's marked down from $39 to $10 manually

    Store Specific Deal Most likely

    • +1

Lady had to mark it down as it still scanned at $29 but you could be right it might only be my store :)

      • It sure is store specific I checked at southport and few in Brisbane. No one is willing to reduce it

        • +1

Agree. It is just Goulburn (NSW) Woolworths has it for $ 10. Not for QLD..

        • It's nationwide, but a) it will onu be marked down if it's on display (so they can put the discounted tag on it) and b) the only sites that display the Pocket Wifi are the newest of Woolworths (~3 months old).

        • @yojabbajabba: any reason "the only sites that display the Pocket Wifi are the newest of Woolworths (~3 months old)." ? Seems a bit specific.

        • @yojabbajabba:
It's weird. I thought Woollies have standardised pricing for this sort of thing.

        • @rl99: I believe it's the style of refurbishment and design in the store that displays certain phone stock. When I went to the older stores they had phones on display underneath a glass cabinet. The newest store had dummy phones that you could touch on Open-air stands in front of the customer service desk (similar to the newer Coles phone displays)… I'm going to check out one more store which is also fairly new. If I see the device and tag I'll take a photo and share.

I already have one of these but it seems to be cheaper to buy another one than pay for extra data…

  • Has anyone else found these at their local Woolies?

  • Does anybody know if these can be used in bridge mode, as a repeater?

  • Yeah I seen these yesterday in the st Kilda woolies on Fitzroy st if anyone wants one.

    • Did you mean Acland St?

      • Nope, Fitzroy st. The iga, sadly has has been a woolies for 18 months or more.

        • Oh, whoops! Thanks for the info.

  • The ones I brought at the hardley normal sale were unlocked so I suspect this ones are as well

  • I got ripped by Norm's $39 then reduced to $19

    • +2

Geriatric Gerry Harvey rips pretty much everyone off.

    • 8 extra gigs of data is hardly ripped. I got two at each price and quite happy either way

      • The 2nd time around it was $19 but got ripped the first round at $39 knowing full well could be had at $19 just a week later. Both both occasion one each so $39 + $19 = $58 got 11 + 11 gigs as 2 units.so 22 gigs for $58 and ditched 2 useless piece of 3Gee modem was only after data.

    • That had the bonus 8GB data as well though.

      • +2

Yeah, bought it in the evening when it showed in stock and next day in the morning found email, that my order has been delayed. Many phone calls and almost 3 weeks on and I still don't have my order. So much for Harvey's Click & Collect.

        • I'm also still waiting for the HN deal to be in stock

        • @biawak:
They told me they have something like 60 orders to fulfill at the Bondi store.

I still have heaps of vodafone pocket wifi extremes from previous deals https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/167640

    • -2

I still have 4 of vodafone pocket wifi extremes from previous deal

  • seems like a good deal for the data but i'm kinda surprised 3g only wifi modems are still being sold at all.

  • is there any in Melbourne CBD???

  • +1

BNE downtown is $10 but out of stock
Spring hill only has it at $29 :(

  • +1

Anyone seen these @ $10 in Vic?

    • +2

I went to five woollies in the northern suburbs and only the newest store (< 3 months old) had the device on display and had the "Better than 1/2 price: was $39 now $10" tag on it. There was two left there and I took them.

Tip: go and look only in newly refurbished/built stores - their phone displays are updated and display the wifi device on the shelf.

      • Sounds good,do you know which store is newly refurbished?

    • I am looking as well.

  • do the 3gb codes expire?

  • Ashwood woolies is selling it for $29. None in Balwyn woolies

  • nothing in Wollies Sydney Town hall

  • Macquarie centre woollies have them for $29 even though on display it says $39

  • +6

Guys I have done a little checking on this…went to 2 woolies and both showed me the price was $39 then down $10 to $29 which is the price of what many members found.

I believe the staff that helped OP instead of marking down $10 which is the correct thing to do, the staff took the damn thing down to $10 in a price over ride. This was explained to me in the Woolies I went after showing OP's jpeg

So there you go, sometimes retailer makes mistake to the advantage of the customer. Not always.

    • Well done, makes perfect sense.

    • +1

. I can vouch that there was the tag that said "better than half price, was $39 now $10" and it was clearly displayed on the display stock.

Re; store override, yep they had to do that for mine too; so perhaps we can call this a pricing error? OP and I managed to get them for $10 due to a specials tag that didn't line up with their internal system.

      • Yes it really adds up to the wrong special tags being produced (maybe just in your store)

  • Anyone seen these in WA yet?
