    Husqvarna 236 Chainsaw

    I thought they only made sewing machines…

    • +2

      Erm, Husqvarna have been making engines for nearly 100 years: http://www.husqvarna.com/au/support/about-husqvarna/four-cen… Sure they made Sewing Machines but they also made some of the worlds best MX Bikes too and Firearms and all sorts of things. Husky Chainsaws are one of the best you can buy!

      • My comment was still correct though…

        • True true ;) I thought us humans would learn to get along too ;)

        • +2

          But you said "I thought they Only made sewing machines"….and that is an incorrect statement is it not?

        • @nortyjak:

          and that is an incorrect statement is it not?

          No, the statement was correct…

        • @jv:

          I'm confused. How is saying that "I thought they only made sewing machines…" and yet in fact they make a lot more than just sewing machines some how a correct statement?.

          @hollykryten:

          How is saying that "I thought they only made sewing machines…" and yet in fact they make a lot more than just sewing machines some how a correct statement?.

          Both statements are correct. They state different facts.

        • @jv:

          Your statement was not correct because you said you thought they only made sewing machines which is not a true statement because that's not all they make.

          Same as if you said "i thought Honda only made cars" which would not be a true statement because they also make mowers, whipper snippers and water pumps.

        • @hollykryten:

          because you said you thought they only made sewing machines which is not a true statement

          That is a true statement. Prove it isn't. Are you part of the thought police ???

        • +3

          @hollykryten: Sorry HK, JVs right. The key word in JVs statement is thought and that single word makes the statement correct… hence my reply above ;)

        • @jv:

          Nope it's a fact that you were wrong about thinking that Husqvarna only makes sewing machines so the statement is incorrect. You'd be deluding yourself to think that it is. Incorrect according to the dictionary is "not correct as to fact; inaccurate; wrong:".

          @SteveAndBelle:

          The word thought has nothing to do with whether a statement is correct. I could have thought that BMW only makes cars but it wouldn't be a true/correct statement. So stop trolling.

          Nope it's a fact that you were wrong about thinking that Husqvarna only makes sewing machines

          The fact that I was wrong or not does not make my comment false.

          My comment was a true statement of what I thought.

        • @jv:

          True is whether the comment was right or wrong not what you think. Your comment was wrong therefore it was incorrect. Please stop trolling.

          Your comment was wrong therefore it was not correct.

          My comment was correct.

          Unless you can prove that I did not think that, then you are wrong…

          Please stop trolling.

          You seem to be the only one trolling here, professing to know what people are thinking…

          @hollykryten:

          It's not what you think.

          It was what I thought until I read this post… So that statement was correct when I wrote it.

          I can prove that your comment was not correct

          Go ahead, prove that I did not think that they only made sewing machines…

        • @jv:

          Actually when you wrote the comment it was incorrect because you were under the false thinking at the time that they only made one sort of product. As i said stop trolling because we all here know that it was incorrect.

          @hollykryten:

          because you were under the false delusion at the time that they only made one sort of product.

          Thank you for proving that I was correct…

          we all here know that it was incorrect.

          Apart from you, who else believes that I didn't think that?

        • @jv: You're right, your ignorance cannot be disputed.

          You're right, your ignorance cannot be disputed.

          I'm sure you already knew Husqvarna made chainsaws…

          The thought was incorrect. Saying that he thought it constituted a correct statement.

          You are thinking that I don't know what you are thinking.

        • @hollykryten: His thought was incorrect/inaccurate but his statement about his thought is most likely correct and we do not have the technology (now) to prove otherwise.

    • No they also make Motorbikes, Mowers, Whipper Snippers and of course Chainsaws. Have done for a very long time. According to wikipedia the first Husqvarna engine powered lawn mower was tested in 1947.

        No they also make Motorbikes, Mowers, Whipper Snippers and of course Chainsaws.

        I never said that they didn't.

    can you use this to cut grass?
    being that im buying from a mower shop

    So REP, what about these guys: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Husqvarna-236-Chainsaw-free-chain… They look to be $20 cheaper still but maybe I'm missing something?!

  • +1

    It's been this price for a while at Sydney Tools for those in NSW.

    Looks like they'll post if for a reasonable price too (~$16 to Brisbane)

    • +1

      Sydney Tools are a bunch of useless tools.. bought a impact wrench and they sent it in 3 packages 3 weeks apart.. carry box, wrench and battery all separately. If you're happy to have your new bits to sit for weeks without a battery sure go right ahead.. lol

    Happy to price match SteveAndBelle. Feel free to speak to Cindy in-store at Hastings Mowers (03) 5979 1382

    • Unless you live in the same city as those stores and can do a free pickup you'll likely need to pay for shipping which would be an extra cost. But we can say about $290 is the current going price for this chainsaw.

  • why is this on oz bargain? not even cheap rrp 299.

    289 with free carry bag

    This is an old model. Been superseded by the 236 e-series (which has an RRP $399).

  • Buy honda instead
    Husqvarna tools are overpriced euro trash money pits

    Have 2 Husky chainsaws, 1 Stihl, and 2 ebay Chinese chainsaws. Huskies are good, as is the Stihl, although harder to start. The ebay ones are ok, but the fuel system parts usually fail and need replacing much sooner. Ok for the price, but when you need a serious saw, the Husky and the Stihl come out here…

  • Hastings Mowers have reverted to $459 for the Shindaiwa 305s in above link
