Is this a good phone? Any reviews? - it isn't called doogee like 'dodgy' is it?

"Doogee is the best ever android phone in every terms, whether it is build quality, price, performance, battery backup, camera or software."

Definitely an unbiased "review". Good for the specs listing though, thanks. It'd be great to see some real reviews for their products, the F3 Pro is really well priced (for a 5" 1080p phone with 3GB RAM)

    • +1

It's a good price but it's price appropriate. It's a lower tier phone with poor screen resolution, poor camera quality, low processing power etc.

      • That Android Times review seems more like they were paid.

Coming from a Motorola Moto G (first gen), would this be an upgrade? Specifically camera wise?

        • +2

Not camera-wise, no. I'd say overall it'd be a step sideways. Slight improvements in some areas, slight decreases in others.

          Another review.

      • As mentioned earlier, DOOGEE Y100 Pro is a masterpiece that has been designed by Doogee and which is truly build for young generations. At no point you will find that this android phone is lacking anything, performance, battery backup, camera quality or the marvelous HD display

I misread as 'dodgee' in the title and did a second take haha.

    • It's DODGEE not dodgy. Get it right mate.

Australia, the cost of a a dollar going down since Abbott power

      • -1

Abbott has nothing to do with it. I'm guessing you're a 20-something year old uni student?

        • -1

i modded you down for the personal attack.
Best to keep politics out of the conversation - but AUD has been closely linked to mining. It's very hard to point a finger at one government and blame them for China's supply and demand.

  • Got one for my son. He had a Galaxy S4 and believes this is an upgrade over the S4. It actually hums along quite nicely.

  • does it come in rose gold?

    • +3

Nah you gotta pay an extra $1100 if you want that colour

  • +1

Battery is a let down too

    • Open comment, can you enhance please. I have a antique Samsung that goes flat as soon as you turn on any internet data GPS so anything is a improvement.

Perhaps with the proliferation of s/phones appearing on this site we should have a forum post?

Battery is quoted to be 2200mAh, which going by my experience of chinese OEM phones is usually an inflated figure. My uHappy smartphone quoted 2500mah but apparently it's only 2100mah (18% difference)

Just like lumen ratings on chinese flashlights — usually exagerrated.

Except the Lenovo K3. Very impressive battery.

        • @spy:

Also thanks, now another bloody phone to compare and contrast.

Stay away from Doogee, they been known to lie about their battery, you can peel the battery off and see inside its a lower tiered.

  • Doogee deals…

    I have a Doogee F1 Turbo - good VFM.

http://www.kimovil.com/en/ is a good site for comparing phones as it includes the Chinese manufacturers.

  • Try and contact Gearbest after sales if it fail's they say 24hrs, 3 day's later Nothing.

The Elephone P6000 Pro deal is better for less price..
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/211014

Faster Processor (Faster 8 core vs this low speed 4 core), More RAM (3GB vs 2GB) and arguably better camera (Samsung camera)

    • Yeah but then they cancelled orders and changed the price before people's eyes

  • +1

don't bother with gearbest. bought a phone 2 weeks ago and still hasn't been shipped yet. contacted them, they said wait 1 -2 weeks, but if you ask as if you're going to buy, they said in stock. go figure.

    • I bought a xiaomi bluetooth speaker off gearbest and it took them 1 1/2 weeks just to ship it out… the service is not very good better off using a high rater seller off aliexpress.
