It is more entertaining to find deals at Ozbargain than from an e-entertainment book.

  • Is it free?

    • Unfortunately no. Price varies from $55 - $70 depending on the location.

Ok. That's probably important information you need to include.

  • only one event cinema in Melbourne.

    • Are you talking about the one in the city? That just closed recently. Says the Moonlight Cinema is an Event Cinema, but thats only open from Dec to March. These probably aren't the best cinemas for Melbournites

    • I emailed the entertainment book team about where the movie cinema etickets can be redeemed particularly in Melbourne.
This is the response I got - "The tickets can be used at Event Cinemas, BCC, Greater Union and Village Cinemas"

  • Digital versions of a number of those magazines are available free from many libraries, yours to Download and keep through Zinio.

  • Is there many deals in these books for Brisbane?

    • There are plenty, yes. All you need to make your money back is to eat at a nice restaurant (like Malt) and save the cost of the book.

Good deal. however, my problem with the digital version is wondering how well participant organizations (and franchises) like grilld, mad mex, etc have trained their staff in letting a customer pay through redeemed offers. I don't wanna order a burger and then stand there looking like a jackass while the staff is going "WTF?". sorry for the pessimistic side of me but presenting a simple voucher to a person who's making about 15$ an hour is much easier. On the other hand, it's 20$ of immediate value so … I don't know :D

Used a Grill'd two for one Entertainment Book offer in Canberra just last night - gave them the voucher, no questions asked. This has been my experience everywhere I've gone - Entertainment Book is an established idea (at least in Canberra).

Having said that, the deals aren't as good as they used to be - many more 25% off coupons than two for one coupons these days.

sorry i didn't phrase my comment very well but that is precisely my point. giving them a voucher from the book is much easier than "redeeming" it on my phone and showing it to them. then they don't know the process of how to "tick off" the use of the voucher :(

        • Oh, I haven't tried that, too hard! Probably depends on how tight the franchise is and who's taking the order. I figure it's easier to order and pay at the counter since you're picking it up anyway! You should be able to order over the phone in most places and just pay when you pick it up. Too hard over the phone or internet!

    • I haven't had any problems other than with a Wendys store that refused to accept it even though the store was listed on the app.. he just said "Oh I asked them to take it off but they haven't yet" eugh.

  • I've never bought an entertainment book till now..
what are the most popular offers typically available?

is it possible to check for the offers before you buy

You can search the entertainment book on the official website

for me personally, grilld, oporto, mad mex, mcds, kfc and subway (all buy one get one free) are the reason i get the entertainment book. grilld alone gets you 37.50 savings if you value their burgers at 12.50, that is. even if you consider two burgers for, say 18, a good deal, it saves you 21$ on grilld alone. they also have discounts for some other eateries i frequent regularly (chefs gallery, paparich, etc) so i think it's pretty good value. plus - fundraising organizations get 20% of the sales so it serves a good cause too!

  • Not saying its no good, but check the offers first.
Make sure to check location too, as a lot of them is location specific.
I was lazy and somewhat pressured from wife to check it out, and ended up only using maybe 10 vouchers.

    • I'd say I only used about 10 as well but It still more than covered the cost of the book at least.. I did feel kind of wasteful though hah.

  • Bought it thanks :)

  • Nice one. School holidays coming up. This is a great deal with 2 movie tickets.
