Microsoft Office 365 Personal Subscription 1 Year - $48 (Free Click & Collect) @ Harvey Norman

120

Not sure if this has been posted. Was looking at renewing my sub for Office 365. Happen to be a sale for this at HN, appears to be much cheaper than anything else out there. Cheapest on staticice is about $60

Obviously there are some cheaper ones on eBay from some 'dodgy' sellers, but I think $48 from a HarveyNorman is hard to beat.

  • That's personal one for only 1 user , not 5. So you can't install on any other PC once installed

There is a known loophole where if you renew a 'personal' subscription with a 'home' subscription for 1 month, it will change your entire subscription to the 'home' one.

So you can load up say, 3 years with a personal subscription, then add 1 month of 'home', and change the entire 3 years to Home for 5 users.

      • Woah woah woah, easy there.
We have a lot of internet lawyers on OzB who will say this is no different to piracy, something something that isn't the license you paid for, something something this is illegal, something something this should be reported.
P.S. idgaf, good deal and good loophole :)

ozbargainers would only want morals/ethics/justice if it was on sale

    • nice one. That is indeed cheaper.
Any good $1-2 dollar deals TA?

Click here and sort by price (low to high).

    • If you've got two or more computers that you want Office on, it's certainly worth getting the 5pk Home over Personal, even at this price.

For double the money ($96.95 delivered) you can install on 5 computers, 5 tablets and 5 phones.

And have up to 5 accounts, each with 1 TB OneDrive cloud storage and 60 minutes of Skype landline/mobile calls per month.

That's 5 TB of cloud storage, and 5 hours per month of phone calls to landlines in 60 countries or mobile phones in 8 countries.

      • also, it is UNLIMITED onedrive now, whenever you goes over the 1TB quota, they will load another 1TB into your onedrive for free as long as you have a active 365 account :)

        • For Personal as well?

@Thrift: actually need to email [email protected] when over 1TB , it does not top up automatically.
          Or use this link
          https://preview.onedrive.com/

I had 10Tb before, but since the 365 expired and renewal , it is back to 1TB now.

the following is the email I got from them before.
Ask and you shall receive! We have taken you off the waiting list and your Office 365 account now has access to unlimited OneDrive storage.
We added 10 TB of OneDrive storage to your account to get you started during this initial rollout. If you reach your capacity and need additional storage, or have OneDrive questions, just email us here.

        • @uccoffee: Thanks, I've just joined the waitlist :)

  • Free if you have a valid school email.

Who pays this much for office? Just find a friend with a student .edu or employee .gov email address.

They get a cheap / free key each year, thats the real bargain here

    • for those that don't know a student or government employee it's a deal.

    • And of questionable legality for life vs legit 12 month subscription

        • From my reading, general consensus is that the keys sold there are MSCE keys for testing purposes, not for retail sale, and so the sale of that licence is outside of that allowed by Microsoft.

The install media they tell you to use is not the same install media that is available for sale.

You can draw your own conclusions, but there is definitely something shady happening, hence my comment on questionable legality.

        • @Cheap Charlie: How do you know they are retail keys? They say they are not OEM, but how can you verify the keys are retail? You're taking their word for it. I know that there have been issues with keys activating without issue, then being notified a few months after that the copy of Windows is not genuine. The subreddit even gives instructions on how to swap in a new key…

Had a quick look just now, most of the Windows downloads are directly from Microsoft, but the Office downloads are not.

    • part of the reason I like the subscription is the inclusion of a included calls on Skype
I probably spend $50 just on skype international calls, so to get 60 free minutes every month is pretty good

Possibly $45.70 if you can price beat at officeworks

  • Renting office for $150/3 years (3 yrs is the product life of office)

Could just buy it for $150.. or have prices changed that much? (I'm on the home use program)
