using it right now, love it!

    • +1

      Which one?

      • blackwidow chroma rgb one!

  • +2

+15% off with the eBay code "CLICK15"
    Makes it $148.75

  • rep do you have the ducky shine 4 or 5?

    • Unfortunately, we don't stock any Ducky keyboards.

  • Anyone know what they quality of Deck keyboards is like?

    • +2

Prior to making consumer products, Deck's parent company (TG3 Electronics) had been making keyboards for law enforcement, the medical field, bankers and professional types.

These particular keyboards would have very tight tolerances, so you can trust the quality of the consumer products to be as equally great.

      • Thank you :) ordered the Pro/Brown Switch/Blue Led. I didn't like the font on the regular. I've been looking for a cheap one for work (not gamer looking) for a while.

    • +2

Not sure about the normal hassium but I've got the pro version. It's probably the most solid keyboard I've used, feels very well built.

      • +2

I have the Hassium Pro at work and the Razer Blackwidow at home. The Razer is ok, but the Deck is MUCH better IMO.

        • +3

I've got the Hassium Pro at work and a Corsair K70 at home. Both are great keyboards IMO, would recommend.

        • @Jorkus:

Would you recommend the Hassium Pro or the corsair K70 RGB? And whats the difference between the Hassium Pro and non pro?

        • +3

@abracadabra: There is a large price differential between the two, but if you can afford both then it's all about preference.

The K70 looks great, has a very solid aluminium build and volume wheel/media controls which is very handy. However, it has a non-standard key layout which will severely limit your ability to customize keys, if that's your jam. My K70 is the older non-RGB, but i would assume both are very similar.

The DHP is rather plain looking, but still has excellent build quality and a standard key layout unlike the K70. Obviously it's not RGB like the K70 also.

I have no idea about the diff between pro and non-pro as i've only used a pro. Also both use Cherry MX keys so that's a wash. Honestly i like both so whatever you think you'd prefer, go with that.

        • @abracadabra: In regards to Pro vs Standard:
The Standard version trades extensive programability for PBT keycaps with Papyrus font legends. These are super durable and feel nicer in comparison to ABS keycaps. However, the font type may not appeal to certain people.
The Pro version has software-free programability (so you can add LED effects, scripts, macros or customized key layouts) and has ABS keycaps with Helvetica font legends.

  • +3

Thanks rep for not inflating price

  • +2

Alex, why did you have to wait until today before you posted your deal? God d@#U(#^%!

    • +1

Did I catch you at a bad time? ;0 You've still got some time for the CLICK15 offer. It's also quite likely we'll have this sale span the entire week.

  • Blergh. No blue switches in TKL :( NVM, found them, under "Other"

  • Could someone recommend a mech KB for me with the following:

    Red switches
    Macro keys
    Volume knob
    ~$150

    • +1

There are very few keyboards that come with a dedicated volume knob. The only ones I can think of right now are the Corsair K70/K95 or the Das 4 Ultimate/Pro keyboards, both of which have a serious price premium. The Corsair ones are probably the only ones that fit your requirements (besides the price).

    • +2

Finding one with the volume knob will be tricky. There are Corsair K70s on eBay for $188 (-15% so $159) which have the knob and red switch, but no macro keys.

    • +4

I've been using the K70 for around a year now, can confirm to be extremely good keyboard with volume knob and usb port at the back but no macro keys.

      • Looks like the K95 has macro keys in addition to the volume knob so I will probably have to get that. Not sure whether the RGB feature is worth the extra though.

    • +1

Asus Strix Tactic Pro fits all your criteria. Loads of macros, nice volume knob with keys & $119 from Umart or MSY. Comes in Cherry red, blue and brown.

      http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id…

      • +1

This looks good. Quite cheap in comparison to the Corsair ones too. Do you own this? If so, care to comment on it?

Edit: Apparently the keys are smaller than on a regular keyboard and there are issues with the firmware (which can be 'solved' by downgrading).

        • Just bought one myself on Friday as I had been looking into it. It's great so far. I got the MX Cherry blue. It's on special at MSY right now for $99 if you have one near you.

It's not quite as upmarket as the Corair keyboards as they are polished aluminium or something. But it's easily the most solid keyboard I've ever owned and I've certainly had no firmware issues so far. It does everything is says on the box. I didn't even notice the small key size until your comment so that's really a non-issue. My fingers aren't that small either.

The only thing I've noticed is that the macros don't respond as fast as I would like in Starcraft II. This may be done on purpose in the game though to avoid advantage to those with macros. Also, you have to like orange (I do) as that's the only colour the backlights come in.

Anyway for the price I highly recommend it :)

logitech if you don't mind a scroll vs a knob

      • I've had about 5 or so Logitech keyboards and I think that's one too many. Their overseas warranty service is too time consuming and I've had a series of bad experiences with them.

  • Hi Alex

I made an order for a deck hassium no backlight keyboard last saturday, so its probably hasnt shipped out yet. just wondering if i can exchange for another keyboard?

I just sent out an email to [email protected] regarding this matter, could you please help me follow it up?

    Many thanks

    • +2

I've just checked up your order. It's pending payment so it hasn't left the building. I can have your order altered. I'll follow it up tomorrow when my head isn't spinning so much haha.

      • Hey Alex I just wanna make a reservation for the deck hassium pro brown, there are only 2 left, is that OK? dont wanna miss out :D

  • +1

Deck Hassium Pro, Hassium Non Pro and Topre Type Heaven are also listed. Cool.
Finally I get to order a Topre at $157.25 delivered and not near $200 + postage.

    • Bought a Topre kb because of you. I have not heard of this type of mechanism prior. Must try :).
Also bought 2 of the Deck Hassium non-pro cherry blue although the font is poor taste. I personally don't look at the key much while typing. My guess is it is more durable than the pro version. I wish there was a non-led version in the ebay store as it is for work and I don't need back-lit.

      • I've hesitated to buy it at $200 since the mechanism has similarities to the common rubber dome keyboard, but a user I trust on Whirlpool tells me its not just a "luxury rubberdome" so to speak. Guess I'll find out soon.

On the boards I have, the lettering on ABT keycaps started to fade within the year, its still quite legible but faded, and some of the keycaps got shiny. PBT is supposed to address these.

I wish there was a non-led version in the ebay store

Its in their normal store, you could try sending PM to the rep here
        http://www.mechkb.com/deck-hassium-non-backlit

        • Topre as some reviewer described as a hybrid of rubber dome with spring and mechanical key. I have some concern on the durability of the soft rubber dome itself but trust it be fine from the Japanese.

  • Rep which keyboard is suitable for lots of typing?

    • I'd pick one of the Deck keyboards (the non-pro one specifically).

I'm not sure if you've had any experience with mechanical keyboards, but there are many different switch types.
You can pick out the one with Cherry MX Blue (tactile, clicky) for personal use if anyone in the same room as the keyboard doesn't mind noise.
If you're in the office, one with Cherry MX Brown (soft, tactile) or Cherry MX Red (soft, linear/smooth) would be suitable.

      • Thanks rep

      • I use a desk hassium pro brown at work and it's excellent.

    • +3

That's like asking which car is suitable for lots of driving??? Haha

      • +5

Well cars come in lots of colours, you have blue cars (faster, tactile, but loud exhaust), or if you're in an office you can get a brown or red car (hybrid engine, quiet, smooth).

        • Nice reply Brezzo
I guess the rep understood my answer. Its like asking which car is suitable for lots of driving to a car expert. He picked up on the office bit and answered the question.

So many CLICK15 deals on so many items I've bought recently, a keyboard being one of them! Do'h! Can't see a deal like this coming though :P

Would have gone with the Corsair RGB if it came in a blue switch :( Especially at this price. I've had a brown for ages and just recently bought a Tt eSports Poseidon Z RGB (Kailh blue) and I love it, BLUE ALL THE WAY!

    • +1

I know how you feel! I got so desperate, I de-soldered all the switches on my K65 and put blue stems in them!

      • Haha wow :D

  • hi, i just wonder why paypal still charges me 175$ instead or 148$ coded applied ?

    • +1

Check the statement buddy, it'll say $175 paid, but the funding source will be $148 from you and the rest of it will be along the lines of EBAY PROMOTION.

  • Why is there no white led with blue switch TKL? All other colors look tacky.

  • dang, after the blackwidow chroma stealth. seems hard to find?

    • Unfortunately, the Stealth editions are exclusive to Razer stores. There aren't any distributors who can stock them.

  • Would love a deal on the Das Keyboard 4 Professional MX Blue :D

    • I just bough the Deck MX Blue/Blue LED based on peoples comments. Made me look into them

And yes, I still want a deal on the Das :D

  • No stealth?

  • Hi Rep,

Would you happen to sell the Corsair K70 Non-RGB version?

    • I think there was one K70 non-RGB with Cherry MX Blue but there's a good chance that's gone.

  • Hi Rep,

I noticed from the razer official website that the Razer Blackwidow Chroma is with 10 Key Rollover and under specification on your website it states 6KRO.

Would this suggest the Chroma on list on your store is previous version to the ones sold on Razer website?
    (razer website: http://www.razerzone.com/au-en/gaming-keyboards-keypads/raze…)

Seriously considering to buy it but held off til you can confirm the version.

    • Chroma has never been 6kro

      • Though I want to know which version it is.

Can rep confirm it's 2014 version?

        • Yeah, it's the 2014 version. That must've been a listing error (duplicate from an older one) but yeah, the specs on the official website will have all the correct information.

  • Hey giys,

Recently purchased the razer deathstalker ultimate stealth however the green back-lighting really does not match my rig, I was very tempted to get the chroma but I can't find the stealth version in Australia, can anyone compare how loud the key clicks are between the two?

or rep can you obtain the stealth version?

    • We've been stocking the standard ones because they seem to sell better. We can try to stock the stealth ones in future, but unfortunately that wont be within the CLICK15 window ;(

      • Do you have a rough idea how much they would be worth?

I would need to onsell a virtually new only used for a month less than once a week razer deathstalker ultimate stealth, might recoop enough money if you can put me a deal together and still purchase it.

That is if I can get some more feedback on how loud the keys are in comparison to the normal chroma?

        • +1

I've just been advised that the Stealth editions are Razer store exclusives. Really sorry I can't help you out here.

To answer your question, they're worth $269.95 AUD. You'll only be able to get them here:
          http://www.razerzone.com/au-en/store/razer-blackwidow-tourna…

I believe these switches don't have the click so they'll definitely be less noisy. If you're a heavy typer, you'll still get some noise when the switch hits the base (bottoming out).

        • @MechKBmonkey: Thanks for such an informative response! you've been a great! very unfortunate about the availability though, would of paid around $160 for it, ahh maybe one day there will be a sale, but they seem to be releasing these at 1 er year, the chroma would only have a few months of it's life cycle left before it's successor comes out, maybe the 2016 model won't be an exclusive (fingers crossed). Either way rep if you ever come across one feel free to PM me :).

    • +2

The Tesoro Excalibur is a pretty decent keyboard I must say.

If you have any prejudice towards Chinese products, the Deck Hassium might appeal to do since they have German made Cherry switches. I'd honestly say the Tesoro Excalibur performs equally as well, even with Chinese made components.

      • Deck seems to have more choice of switch types as well. Cheers :)

      • Have Tesoro updated their software for macros? I have to say Razer's software for macros is really well done, last time I bothered with Tesoro's software it feels like I'm using something made for windows 2000

  • does the k70 RGB still have issues that people complained about during release?

    • +1

Could you brief me on what particular concerns that people may have had?

I know for certain that their non-RGB models had issues with LED failures (though this doesn't apply to their RGB models as the LEDs are mounted underneath the switch).

    • +3

Do not buy the K70 RGB if you want 16.8 million colours. IF you already have an Corsair RGB keyboard it may still be possible to get a full refund from Corsair if you contact them directly (This notice was given at least 7 months ago, look at their forums for more information).

Reason being, the RGB LED controller is only capable of 512 colours with the 16.8million colour mode (using PWM) producing a lot of flickering. This has been corrected in the new Corsair Strafe RGB which uses a new LED Controller.

Other issues that were commonly faced were lighting freezing opening Steam or if plugged into the wrong USB port and spamming any of the Caps Lock/Scroll Lock/Num Lock, I have not experienced any more of these issues on the K95 RGB.

In short, if you want a Corsair RGB product, get the Corsair Strafe RGB (this is out in about a weeks plus more time) if not wait until they announce a second iteration of the K## RGB line.

      • Yeah, the steam issue was a big no-no for me…

People have also complained about the corsair software being crap, LEDs freezing and reverting back to what default was until keyboard was reconnected through USB or the computer was restarted.

Plugging the keyboard into the wrong USB? This is baffling

Puts me off paying a price premium for these issues

        • Just to clarify with the USB port issue, it had to be plugged into a USB 3.0 port using just the 1 connector (icon labelling it as main), if not into 2 USB 2.0 Ports using the 2 connectors, in a specific order the main connector followed by the 2nd (off the top of my head).

I was experiencing lighting freezing while using the caps/scroll/num lock keys until I noticed that I used a USB 2.0 port (motherboards are tricky things :C).

This however is my own personal experience, and IIRC the forums had people relating their lighting freezing to the motherboard model as they already did the above steps properly and/or fixing the issue with a USB hub (powered?) and/or PCI-E USB card (please check forums to confirm as this is off the top of my head).

        • +2

To be honest, a lot of these issues seem inflated. You'll hear more poor reviews than you would hear good ones since those with problems are more compelled to be vocal.

As of current, a lot of these problems are non-issue. loke has reported he no longer has these issues on his K95, and I can say my K65 hasn't had any problems either (even despite me voiding the warranty and modifying it).

I will confirm that the LED controller issue has not been solved (because it can't). But most people wont be able to tell or mind the difference between 512 and 16.8million colors. This is probably the only flaw with this product.

  • Hi Rep,
    Do you allow pickup?

    • Sure thing, just select the pickup option at checkout.

  • Thanks, bought the last Hassium Pro red LED/Brown Cherry keyboard

  • so not happy, bought the kogan one yesterday

  • What's the difference between the Razer Blackwidow Tournament Chroma RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard and the Razer Blackwidow Chroma RGB USB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Razer Green?

    • The Tournament edition does not come with the number pad section so you have more space to move your mouse. It also helps with ergonomics so your arms not constantly far apart. You'll see this kind of form factor being called TenKeyLess or TKL.

  • Which type of keys are not so noisy/clicky?

    • For the most commonly used key switch (Cherry and clones) those that are advertised as clicky (Blue, Green, White) are the 'noisy' types. The others (Red, Black, Brown, Clear) are don't have the click but have different characteristics.

You can read more about these switches in the following pages:
      https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/wiki/switch_gui…
      http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MX

      • Thanks for the info. Looks like I'm after a keyboard that is Cherry Red and also backlit. Any recommendations?

        • You could pick out a keyboard from the Corsair K series or go for one of the Deck Hassiums.

        • @MechKBmonkey: Was thinking about the Deck Hassiums Pro but the font on your ebay site is that the font of the keyboard? As looking at some reviews the font is different.

  • Ordered a keyboard just now and selected pickup option. Now how do I get notified when to pick it up?

    • Usually for pickup, you'll be fine to pop into our office whenever you're comfortable. The automated 'pick-up' email is usually on the fritz and you may not get the email until the day after.

  • Hey rep, thanks for sticking around.

Can you confirm whether the Hassium Pro also has the DS PBT keycaps? I'm reading reports off the internet that non-US versions have ABS keycaps instead. If possible I'd prefer PBT with the no-nonsense font on the Pro.

Edit: I'm stupid. Should have read the product description. The Pro does indeed use ABS instead of DS PBT keycaps.

    • If you want a Hassium with PBT keycaps, the only offering we have is the standard version of Hassium. That particular keyboard has Papyrus for the for the legends.

  • Hi

I went to purchase the k65 RGB tonight. I noticed the price has been suddenly increased by $20.

    Thanks

    • *$27

    • +2

Have you applied the code CLICK15 in checkout? That is what makes it $152.15

  • Just picked up my own blackwidow ^_^ - very excited.

  • I have received my Deck Hassium keyboard. Over all it seems to require more force than the Razor blue switch mechanical keyboard. The Topre keyboard is great. I love the soft touch and landing of each keystroke but also getting the benefit feedback similar to mechanical keyboard. I am converted. I hope this keyboard mechanism will last as long as Cherry mechanical keyboard.

    • Damn now I am tempted to get another one.
Is the feel better than Cherry Brown or Blue would you say?
I wasn't home when delivery driver came, so I have no way to tell before the promo ends!

      • It feels better than both. I have 3 Cherry brown keyboards and 3 Cherry blue and this Topre keyboard just feels quality. I just love the feeling of a sure butter smooth landing but also a sure solid click feeling on the way up.

  • +1

I purchased the K95 RGB. It was pretty much delivered the next day. I have not experienced such good customer service in a long time. Thank you MechKB @ Ebay, you really made the shopping experience beyond expectation. Seamless, great price, helpful, fast, and catered to my needs/query.

I wish you would sell a broader range of items so I could deal with you more often.

    Thanks.

    Oh, keyboard rocks.

    • Thanks for the kind words! ;D
