$0 6 Months Alianz Roadside Assist with Logbook or Essential Plus Service @ Kmart Tyre & Auto

171

Took my car in for a logbook service last week & was informed that qualified me for 6 months roadside assistance. Not much use to me as I have RACV cover, but might be of use to some.

  • I service my car for roughly $40 using discounted 15W-60 Penrite with filter. I can also buy standard roadside for $79 or $169 if I'm considering travelling further afield. So if I do what I do now, I'd be about $220 ahead a year. Which pays for my comprehensive insurance.

Comprehensive insurance for $220.00 per year?!

      Start talking!

      ~$50 :)

    • How exactly can you have comprehensive insurance for $220 a year?

    • Id be amazed at $220 for just 3rd party… sorry, but I find this really hard to believe. Maybe I didn't interpret that correctly?

  • For those wondering about my insurance, let's just say… a spotless record, a really rare (but still cheap market value wise) car that I treat like gold and my employment plus the fact I barely drive it all combine to make one hell of a comprehensive insurance bill. But to tell you the truth… I'm lying about it costing me $220 a year… I'm holding the certificate in my hand right now, it was $194.50 paid annually.

  • Sounds like a youi policy where your covered only one day a week

    • Wouldn't touch youi, they hire drug addicts because they know exactly what to say to scam money… it's with NRMA. 7 days a week up to 5000km's a year. Still bloody cheap if I want to increase the km's.

"service fee: the service fee is a $100.00 (Inc. GST) amount effective October 2013. The service fee covers the initial callout of the roadside assistance provider only. All other items are at additional customer cost." does that mean you have to pay $100.00 every time you require assistance? is this a standard fee with other providers too?

Well that sucks! Tempted to neg my own post now.

    • Huh. If they slug u $100 just for a tow truck to come out for a service van to sell and install a new battery.. Wtf is the point of road side assist then. Just go with RACV pay $70 and get 4 call outs 20km free towing. Forget these idiots. Their car service gonna cost u $200 anyways which is a lot more than most places.
