  • Hmm Masters have it for an in between price for what they were going for last week and what they are going for currently. Smart move i guess, see how popular they were at a reduced price last week and reduce it a week later but not as much knowing people will still jump on it..

Question is if others were offering them for the $250 mark, is this deal worth not holding off for it to be offered again….

    • +4

This Masters deal is actually $250.53 when using the SUPERS10 code, and buying a Wish eGifit card @ 5% discount through cashrewards + also 2% cash back.

    • It's $298 at TGG, I wonder what their "less for cash" is after you 'mention' the master's 10% off?

      • I picked up a V6 animal from TGG today price matching the masters deal ($449.10 after SUPERS10 code). They have it for $499 on their website. They wouldn't go any lower than $449.10 though.

Buy on ebay for $249 with free pick up if you have a $50 voucher

    $268.10 @ Bing lee

  • It appears that the code goes for other vacuum cleaners too, though I have not tested for each of them. How do you recommend this one? It gets down to $116

The code works for all of masters.

I bought a fridge from the last week which arrived today.

  • and 2% cashback from cashrewards or Qwibble

  • -4

Got it $210 from masters the other day

    • gasps how? And are these enough as a vacuum or do you need a bigger one to go with it as well?

    • How? Can you share with us please? Thanks

  • +3

Really, what is the reason that every store seems to be having sales on Dysons. Are they getting rid of them? or…

    • +3

… the RRP is so inflated they can constantly discount and still make money.

  • +1

Is the V6 a lot better than this DC45?

    • Yes it is much more powerful. Worth double? Depends on your situation. It was for us.

  • Can I presume Dyson V6 is better than this since it's dearer?

    • I guess so but i wouldn't have any idea why.
the code in this deal takes 10% off anything at masters so would make it cheaper also.

      V6 is a rebranded version of DC59.
I think this webpage says that it's worth the upgrade, but I am not too sure how much of that is not marketing mumbo jumbo.

We used to have the DC45, but then we decided to upgrade to a V6/DC59 from the previous sale with the bonus kit.

I noticed two noticeable differences, first being the trigger, it is a significant improvement over the older unit, much lighter trigger pull. Then the new brush head design I believe is much better and less tangles but we will wait and see. Power wise I noticed a slight bump over the DC45.

We have a DC44 which is great, so anything newer such as this one should be awesome. These things are very handy, just remember they only last about 10 minutes or so (which is quite long when vacuuming if you think about it) and then you need to pop it back on the charger. Haven't used our big Dyson for months now as these stick ones are so easy to grab and use anywhere around the house.

  • Can you use it wired if the battery dies out?

    • +2

No, it only works on battery. I have V6 model. These vacuums are great.

  • +3

Twice the suction of any other cordless vacuum cleaner in use

Twice the suction of the V6? WOW!

    • +2

I was laughing at the same thing. "Twice the power of your top model that's worth 4 times the price? WOW, this thing is incredible!"

  • can they vacuum cars efficiently? or they too long/big? I got portable smaller handheld, but they don't really suck.

    • they do this really well, but for best results you need the bonus kit they bundle from time to time (you might need to buy it for between $99 and $129 from memory). has all those 'tight to get into spot' type tools, including a mini hose.

    • You mean they really do suck ;)

      • And quite good at it

      • Suck and swallow it all inside as well ;)

        • Do they choke?

        • @vash12: only if we don't disturb you while you're cleaning your room ;)

  • $270 well spent for my yearly vacuuming endeavours.

  • Would this be able to do a 2 story house on 2 charges?

    • Rooms? Area sq? pets? Carpet type? Ect..

It would easily suck up all this string I have here but i have no idea how long it is?

  • Just ordered one. Seems like a real bargain to me. Thanks

    • Not the best deal we've seen, but a decent one for this week…

  • Waste of money Dyson is over rated, please have in mind Dyson isn't the only vacuum that works well, many others come down a lot cheaper and does the same job.

A friend has the Electrolux model and loves it

      • +1

+1 to Electrolux, its 3 years old, heavy and not as portable as Dyson, but for a model with a H12 Hepa Filter and Ion Clean for $200 with all attachments including car cleaning stuff, I still dont see a reason why I need to buy a Dyson.

        • How often do you change the filter?

        • @Jackson: It came with 2 Filters in the box. I am on the 2nd one in my 3rd year.

  • +1

Considering getting one but will the dc45 be enough to completely replace a corded vacuum cleaner?

    • +1

Not entirely, from memory the DC45 has 28aw of auction on normal and 60aw on max while for example the current Dyson barrel (dc54) has 230aw of suction.
The Dyson v6 has 40aw on normal and 100aw on max.

Aw is the metric used to measure suction if that was unclear.

So these hand sticks are really handy and can certainly cut down on full vacuuming, as well as making it really quick and easy to do so given how quick they are to get going as opposed to dragging and setting up a big vacuum.
As a general indicator since getting my handstick I now (full size) vacuum roughly every 3 weeks to 1 month while I vacuum more often (3-4 times a week) quickly with my handstick.

Full disclosure - I have no association with masters but I do work for Dyson and I use a V6 absolute.

  • ordered and collected, haven't used it yet, thanks OP

    • Have you tried it yet ??

      • Yep, does the job well, easy to empty

  • my DC59 Animal from 2 years ago is still going strong. We vaccuum regularly once a week (260sq.m house) with 5 carpeted areas and also do ad-hoc vaccuuming. A full charge is just enough to finish the whole house. It has replaced our conventional Dyson vacuum cleaner.

If there is one complaint, it's the sealing flap to the dust collector, it doesn't seal properly when off and everytime we suck up a spider, it finds it way back out. Didn't really notice this until I was wondering why I was vacuuming large spiders of the same size for a few days straight…lol

If I was to buy another, there is no doubt that I would go for the V6…

  • I bought it, thanks! Its sucking power is less than I expected, probably less than the bosch blue 18v vaccuum i was using.

However what makes this unit great is the head. The head does such a good job picking up dirt (and hair!) that the lower suction doesn't seem to matter. I recommend it at this price!

  • I am a new member to this great site.
Here do you use the Masters SUPERS10 code ?
I am about to go to a Masters store and spend about $1000 on outdoor furniture for my daughter's new apartment.
How can I use the code in store and also is there any other discounts that I can use/benefit from in the store today?

Any help would be much appreciated. I have used Ozbargain in previous times and being a person who loves saving money, it has been of great use to me. Now I hope to contribute in the future :)

    • +2

The code SUPERS10 is for online orders only, including click and collect orders. Is the furniture available for click and collect? If so, place your order online and use the promo code.

If not, you should be able to print this barcode and scan it at the self checkout. If you have to go through a staffed checkout then most likely they will insist on having an original docket.

If you need an original docket I think I can help you out.

  • Thanks for your help. I will use the self checkout.
