Further revision. Both come with 8gb and 1TB drive. The i5 option does not ship to Australia.

ASUS M32AD Desktop i3

  • Intel Core i3-4170 Dual-Core 3.7GHz processor
  • USD$354.99 + $7.98 - less Amex discount

ASUS M32CD Desktop i5

  • Intel Core i5-6400 Quad-Core 2.7 GHz processor (turbo to 3.3GHz)
  • USD$429.99 + $7.98 - less Amex discount

I'm not going to put AUD because I'm going to assume you are getting screwed on the conversion with your Amex. Also the AUD/USD seems to be back up at 73c right now.

I'm looking at building a server for home that is half media PC, half VM, half linux machine and half TS-140 deal that I missed out on. I think this might do it.

If anyone can find some internal photos, please comment below. I'm hoping I can put some large drives and ideally 32gb of memory. I can find nothing from intensive googling. There is a possibility it is 110V and may need a different PSU.

  • Can someone show me the link for the 15% off at Amazon with Amex?

I have searched but not found :(

Also bear in mind your bank will probably charge an extra OS purchase fee if you using Amex - I know mine (CBA) will for OS purchases - its a couple of percent.

Looks like Amazon has changed it so that it can't be shipped directly to Australia on orders through the checkout. Looks like a USA shipping forwarder is needed now but i bet the shipping forwarder would charge a lot more than $7.98 USD for shipping. So congrats to those who got their orders in before Amazon shut down the direct shipping to Australia on this.

    • It also confirms it on the product page… look for the "International Shipping" in the description. i5 model is saying NO to both 1TB and 2TB. i3 model is saying YES.

      • Yes it's only available for domestic USA shipping now. USA shipping forwarder is the only way to buy it now but who knows how much those USA shipping forwarders are going to charge for shipping.

    • What a shame, Amazon doesn't want our patronage :(

  • Can't find any information on spare PCI Express x16 slots…I found one review that it has some x1 slots spare.
Really interested in the i5, and pairing that with a bigger power supply & graphics card.

Re the PSU, a little bit of research goes a long way.

    Manual for the M32AD:
    http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Desktop/M32AD/XX09_M32AD_M5…

    Note page 18.

I'd assume the same for the M32CD, but couldn't find manual

    • Is there a manual for the M32CD model because this is the M32CD?. Not that you can buy it any more since Amazon shut down international shipping to Australia on it.

        Read my comment again buddy.

        • I see. Sorry

Says on page 18 of that M32AD manual the North America & Asia Pacific model has a 110-120/220-240V PSU) and as you said the M32CD should be the same. So it appears that ASUS PC's do use a universal power PSU.

  • Will it be possible to re-install win10 on the SSD when I receive it?

    • If the ssd is of smaller size, it will be very tedious to image the original drive. If lucky enough you might be able to image the required partitions, and have the factory recovery image stored externally.

Ideally if you have good social engineering skill, talk to Asus support to send you installation media.

    • Yes. You can. I have done it. Fresh installation of windows 10 on one new ssd. Cloning is not necessary unless you want keep applications and settings.

      • hey mate, is it just download win10 and re-install it with the product key on the back of this machine? Thanks

        • No worries. Yes. You can enter the product key if available. You don't have to. New windows 10 installation would detect an activated copy of Windows on another hard drive. You can simple leave product key blank and it will be activated automatically.

  • I went to order a 2nd one for my brother no longer shipping so i changed it to a i3 and that still ships. I have a sneaky feeling amazon will cancel both orders.

  • Mine says:

Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier

Can't see them cancelling it now?

    • Not unless they instruct the shipping carrier to return it to sender which is unlikely.

  • Great deal mine has been shipped thanks to the poster

  • Here is a manual if anyone managed to get an i5. Nothing great but it does say 220-240VAC is okay.

  • Is it still worth getting the I3 model ?

  • have anyone received their order?
