Pretty sure it's just the free month that you get for signing up regardless of device….

  • +12

I think OP may have been a bit desperate to post this one, big effort on the content too lol

    • +7

He tries hard this guy, but never gets the prize

        • +25

That's actually quite amusing and lets be honest here, not all your deals are that bad but perhaps your attitude is..

        • +29

Yes you do try hard and post a lot…but you have to ask yourself about quantity vs quality.

Many of your posts are rehashes of old deals billed as renewals or an act of altruism such as this "deal"

And many more of your posts are blatant referral credit mining for COTD, IHerb etc.

so really you are not as great as you seem to think, and i for one am glad that you dont get the monthly prizes - especially with your bad attitude, you simply dont deserve it!

Perhaps it is you who needs to "get over yourself dude"

im upvoting this deal in the hope it hits the front page so more people will see the petulant behaviour you have displayed once again here.

        • +5

@easternculture: So should good old common courtesy which it appears you are more than lacking.

Take your comment above as a perfect example.

        • +2

then you will be allowed to voice an opinion

Who appointed you chief rule maker around here?

You have no authority around here…who do you think you are?

you can go winge on wingepool

Ironically, it is you who apoears to be the one whingeing.

And yes, it is spelt 'whinge' - it appears you have as much respect for spelling as you do the patrons of ozbargain

          LOL

          Yawn, im bored now

And yes, it is spelt 'whinge'

Still bored. Please entertain me with your useless comments

        • +6

@easternculture: only if you post some more useless bargains!

        • -2

          @pointless comment:

Must really hurt since the deal has hit front page … ouch

        • Really…. Are just trolling for the sake of it or are genuinely serious? For everyone's sake I hope it's the first option because treating people like that is not on regardless of the forum.

        • -2

          @ShamelessBargains:

you and Pointless comment have been trying to trash this deal so it wont hit front page

Well i got news for you, its hit front page because the community approves and likes it.

So it seems like you both are trolling, not me.

        • +4

@easternculture: I think it's great it hit front page as people can see the real EC. Attacking people on a bargain sharing forum is a low act.

        • -2

          @ShamelessBargains:

Its weird that this only happens when you or pointless comment start trolling in a deal thread

        • +1

@easternculture: umm i think youll find many are catching on to my idea to upvote this deal to the front page to give more people the chance to read of you embarrassing yourself with petulant arrogant behaviour!

          Enjoy!

        • @easternculture: dude i ironically upvoted it so it will hit the front page, and it seems others have done the same… lol….you must be fuming…..no monthly prize for you!!!!

        • -2

          @pointless comment:

          Incorrect !!

You tried to trash this deal so no one would upvote it.

To your suprise, it got front page because its a good deal. So you just claimed you upvoted the post for that pointless reason.

Not everyone is small minded like you !

Crash and Burn and see you next front page deal

The only monthly prize i need is to prove you wrong .. which i did with pride. That's a big WIN for me.

        • @easternculture: but you just lost again - i noticed you were carrying on and berating people so i wanted it to hit the front page so more people would see your awful behaviour!

I wrote this hours ago - just look at the thread

im upvoting this deal in the hope it hits the front page so more people will see the petulant behaviour you have displayed once again.

so i gues you once again didnt get a monthly prize…keep trying dude….get over yourself!!!

          Lololololololol

        • @pointless comment:

I wrote this hours ago - just look at the thread

You said that when you realized it reached 11 votes (as per time stamps) and it was eventually going to hit front page

          Now stop embarrassing yourself

        • +1

@easternculture: now you are just grasping as straws buddy…you are the one who should be embarrassed, you have been absolutely shredded on this thread by so many users!

          Dude get over yourself!

          Lololol

you have been absolutely shredded on this thread by so many users!

lol .. mwahahah .. you refer to yourself, Shameless bargains and gamechanger as many users

OMG man … are you guys like a 15yo wannabe boy band who sing britney spears, back street boys and boyz 2 Men songs haha

        • @easternculture: the negs you have gotten here are over 100.

          World biggest boy band.

        • +1

          @pointless comment: this is entertaining

        • @CandyMan:

        • @pointless comment:

          Give up on him

        • @Gimli: i have started a separate thread to debate the issues raised here as mods suggested - you may get banned if you continue to comment here

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214896

  • Does this extend your existing subscription?

    • +1

      Nope New subscribers only.
It looks like iTunes are just promoting the usual Netflix first month free.

@easternculture: you might want to add "New Subscribers only"

I wonder when the Australian subscribers are going to get a price increase like the Americas

  • +3

Will you Netflix n Chill with me EC?

    • +2

5 minutes into OzBargain and chill and you get a neg vote. +ve.

      • +1

Holy cow at all the negativity on this thread.
        Let's just all OzBargain n Chill :)

  • +1

Netflix in australia is not worthy (yet)… poor content; not as good as US

    • +2

So what is stopping you to access other content from you Australian subscription??

      • VPN FTW!!!! … Just to let others know the poor content of aus netflix

      • -2

        Data limits. :p

        • +1

:( So, DNS based system with my own internet connection FTW!!!

        • @aacarrer: Same here, works great, up and running in the time it takes to type in a DNS server IP.

    • just pay $2 a month for uflix and access the worldwide content.

    • Getflix.com.au fixes that pretty quick.

  • So now we can 'netflix and chill' on the go… Hmm let us pause and think about this one first…

    • Get the netflix part out of the way on the bus home?

  • Always has been free 1 month on iPad and iPhone.

  • +11

Well now you might as well create a separate post for free 1 month Stan and free 2 weeks FoxtelGo and Presto as well… Just in case people have forgotten.

    • +1

LOL, I bet he is seriously wanting to do it.

  • +4

    Not a bargain

Always able to get 1 month free, and use Apple iTunes credit bought at discount to pay.

But current exchange rate you are better off subscribing to Netflix AU

    AU Pricing
    AU$8.99, 1 stream, SD
    AU$11.99, 2 streams, HD
    $AU$14.99, 4 streams, HD

    US Pricing (new)
    US$7.99, 1 stream SD
    US$9.99, 2 streams, HD
    US$11.99, 4 streams, HD

    • -1

Purchase sub via in-app and use the usual 20% - 30% off iTunes GC's that retailers have every few weeks.

Tell me that isnt a deal

      • +5

I've been doing for 18months using US Netflix with iTunes credit bought at discount.

        Not new at all.

        • +1

well it hasn't been posted as a deal. And don't assume everyone knows this hack just because you know about it

It may not be a bargain to you, but would be a good deal for others

        • +1

@easternculture: I agree, I didn't know about this and I visit this site multiple times a day, thanks ec

    • Canada is the better option. as $c1 ~ $a1
      $7.99, 1 stream SD
      $9.99, 2 streams, HD
      $11.99, 4 streams, HD

or a $1 cheaper if you already subscribe to it:-)

  • +8

It must be a good deal since TA upvoted it. Interesting how they always upvote each other's deals and post quantity over quality. The line needs to be drawn somewhere.

At least this deal isn't a rep hiding behind an Ozbargain user for a change.

      • +7

I don't need to ask store reps to gift me deals to get my deal quota up mate. I actually go hunting for bargains the old fashioned way and determine whether they are deals before posting them.

      • Oh my gosh are you 14???

    • +12

Excellent post! About time these quantity posts get called out.

  • Not a deal, offer always exists. Belongs to the forums.

  • +1

i would never pay for something like Getflix when there are plenty of free alternatives such as TVUnblock.com

    • You only get access to US content, I find Canada/UK has better movies.

  • +1

It's a shame it's not possible to pay using Play Store credit (or use Telstra credit on the Apple store) :(

    • +1

I find there is limited apps on Play Store that allow purchase of in-apps frpm Google play credit.

      Viber is one of them.

      • Strava is another app you can use your Google Play store credit to buy a subsciption

  • Signed up this way a couple of days ago, was pleasantly surprised at how simple the process is - no typing up emails, names, addresses, etc., just touch ID and go.

  • +3

This is a deal because you can now signup through your iPhone / iPad and get billed through iTunes. Previously the only way to get billed through iTunes was signing up using an Apple TV.

    • -4

      lol what…

Imagine what ozB would be like, if we get to post a technical change as a bargain.

      • +5

But this 'technical change' creates a bargain for a lot of people. If I hadn't of seen this post, I wouldn't have known that I can pay for Netflix this way.

I have acquired over $300 of iTunes cards over the last few years (bought during specials for 30% - 50% off) that I haven't used yet and would probably just gift anyway. I stopped buying them because I hadn't used the one I had - but, now I can use them to get discounted Netflix. So, it's a bargain for me.

  • +2

it's a small technical change that means all people with iOS devices can get half price Netflix instead of just Apple TV owners.

    • -3

Once you have a netflix subscription, you can use it on any device.

So even if were bought for Apple TV, you still can use on other devices.

      • yea but now you dont need an apple tv to get this deal.

  • So how does it work? You can buy iTunes vouchers in $10 increments I think. As Netflix isn't billed as a factor of 10, what happens to "the change"?
