  • 3DS XLs are still $179 at target with 2 games.

  • Thanks L1QU1DD, always great to see these deals ahead of the sale.

    • Sale started today? I'm not sure what you mean

      • +1

I mean I appreciate your posts. Thank you.

Well thank you very much. I want to post some items from next week's catalogue but they across too many pages. Heads up don't spend all your money at Kmart

        • @L1QU1DD: Any sign of an in-store toy sale coming up soon? I know Big W have had a couple of online only toy sales recently, but the Duple sets I want to buy are in-store only (not available for home delivery or SimplyCollect). Thanks!

        • +1

@SimbaGirl: this Thursday's catalogue should be to your liking. Hopefully the sets you are after are included.

        • @L1QU1DD:
Thanks, will keep an eye out for it online. Unfortunately we rarely ever get the Big W catalogue delivered at home.

  • Still a bit boggled by the XB1 deals. $378 seems great for a XB1 with MCC (even if it is 500gb). Allowing for 1TB and added Halo 5 it still seems a superior deal to another certain XB1 deal going around for $559-$599. I may be comparing apples and oranges though. Is the limited Halo 5 console with controller more similar to the 'elite' XB1 than standard XB1 offered here? (Discounting the storage differences).

If the limited edition is more similar to the elite I would go with that deal but if it is more similar to standard (in construction ie. performance, energy efficiency use - longevity, not storage or general 'look' which aren't that important to me) then I may as well go for this and buy Halo 5 later (saving $100-$150 but forgoing the extra 500gb).

So where is there a major difference between these console variants? Is the new Halo 5 limited edition more similar to standard (offered here with MCC) or elite? I want to pull the trigger on a deal but I am confused (as there is some sales jargon saying the Halo 5 limited edition controller for instance is more ergonomic and has a feel similar to the elite but does it really?)

Also OP can you give us a hint on whether Big W will match or go better on the Mario Kart WiiU premium deal for under $300? I'm interested in that too, I understand if you can't leak the exact info yet but just tell us if there is some sort of WiiU premium bundle deal?

I don't have either console personally but from what I have seen the control is the same as a normal console just with different skin (the skin is not a just a stick on it is a textured finish, so done well and the right way imo).

If I was looking for a XB1 I would jump on it at $378, MCC bundle is the one for me not a fan of AC. but I would replace the HDD to at least 1tb maybe in 2tb with the money saved. Games are averaging 40GB already and of the 500 GB you get about 420 to play with so that's 10 games and your HDD is full.

      Hope this helps.

Thanks, I think it just is the skin with the standard console (kind of like metallic paint on cars) there may be some differences on the controller but it does seem to lack the pads and components of the elite so think it would be. I just was unsure with the construction of the machine inside the case, but since it's non-SSD the console shouldn't have many performance benefits over standard.

Noticed there is no PS4 deal so thinking that could be on the cards? Would be good to have a good deal on the version with more storage or an even better deal on the 500gig.

        • These items are just consoles we sit on forever. PS4s sell with no bundles, I would love to see one but I don't like the chances.

        • As Juzz has said, the Halo 5 Xbox One is just a repaint. The controllers are the ones from like 4/5 months ago with the extra jack (i dont think any other changes were made). The Elite bundle is an eb exclusive so we will likely never see it cheaper than 599, the elite comes with no games, but has an SSD that will boot the xbox faster and possibly reduce load times, as well as the elite controller, whcih is a customizable controller usually worth 199 on its own (also an eb exclusive, so likely will never see a price reduction).

The halo 5 console is more similar to this MCC one, just has a bigger HD. Noting it may also come with the older controllers that you cannot just plug any headset into (newer ones have a 3.5mm jack).

      SNAAAKKEEE!

  • should i pull the pin on getting the xbox one or wait until christmas?

even if i bought it now I wouldn't be giving it away until christmas

  • Moments like these you wish Big W had stock on eBay not just in-store. The $100 voucher is still on for all curious and there are a couple of 1TB XB1s under $500 with the MCC for those who don't want to change HDDs - $499 including a $100 ebay voucher isn't bad and makes it competitive with $378 outright for the 500gb version.

Obviously a $100 voucher =/= $100 off but if it did (you had things you wanted to buy on ebay over $100 in the next month) it would be worth $399 for you. And $21 for an extra 500gb is good in anyone's books.

I'm still a bit overwhelmed with the offers out there (so many things to consider). I will probably miss out on that seeing the limited quantity but good for others.

  • Hi op , thank you for the post, good effort

Is there any ps4 deal asking with this that will beat Kmart value ( a little expensive bundle is also fine )

    • +3

349 is a steal, I think they are first gen consoles kmart is trying to get rid of so just be careful of that if you are going to pick one up. the current assassin's creed bundle is pretty good imo (489, 1tb, AC Synd, Watchdogs and Uncharted). Otherwise COD BLOPS3 and 1tb at $489 is good also if that game is more your style.

The silly season is just getting started I think we will see some good deals between now and Xmas but don't think you will be able to pick up the consoles for cheaper just more things included. Boxing day last yr AC Bundle was $388. Given the drop in the AUD$ the fact we are beating those prices surprises me.

      • -4

        No it doesn't

        • +1

You know whether it surprises L1QU1DD?

Have you considered going on 'The One'?

      • Thank you the patient reply mate , I will go check Kmart and If it's the newer gen , will snag one else wait for the next bundle wars :)

I would not need a 1 TB console as I rarely play more than 3 games in a time period and never play AC or Watch dogs .. Uncharted is worth , but I finished all of them on ps3 :)

      • Woah…are you saying this Black Ops 3 bundle will be $489?

        https://ebgames.com.au/ps4-211336-1TB-PlayStation-4-Limited-…

If so, dont know whether to get that or hold out for the star wars console

  • This or the 1tb Forza deal from JB hifi? $71 more.

    • Is Blue your favourite colour? Will you play MCC or AC or are you just a racer.

      • I'll play the new AC not these ones. Can pick up MCC reasonably cheap so can always grab that at another time but will definitely be getting Forza.

Colour is also not bad but not as nice as the Guardians colour.

  • Great price on the Wii U Splatoon Bundle, beats the recent $334 deal from Target. Thanks OP.

The $299 Mario Kart Bundle from Kmart is cheaper if you can find stock.

  • Big W online store is showing only 2 WII U bundles for sale https://www.bigw.com.au/search/?q=wii+u%3Arelevance%3Aprice%…

    • +2

Big W's online gaming (and movies?) is outsourced to another company, so online pricing will often differ to offers in store.

  • Can you still trade in xbox one for the 1TB elite version?

  • +1

Just tried BigW Macquarie for the XB1 MCC bundle, apparently no stock for months now

    • Yep, I tried all of the Newcastle area stores, same deal, they only had 1TB bundles…but the staff did say there's also new 1TB bundles in the new cattledog coming out Thursday 29/10 with different games.

  • Rang a few stores, the last one I spoke to said the Xbox one kinect has been out of stock for months, you would be very lucky if anyone had any. So has anyone found any of the Xbox one deals.

  • Grabbed the unity bundle for 399 last week. Damn anyone know if I can go back in with it and ask for the $20 difference instead of returning it?

  • What a great deal… And no, I couldnt get any in any store near me. Bummer…

  • Picked up the Xbone + Kinect. Had to ring around a bit but the deal is good!

    • Where did you end up getting it from.

      • Liverpool. Was the last one.

    • Got one too ..from. Big w katoomba.. $398

  • Thanks L1QU1DD, picked up a unity kinect bundle for $378.10(woolys discount)

  • +1

Just want to thank OP for being active and posting. Champ effort!

    • +1

Thanks. Don't do it for the recognition but it is good to hear people appreciate it. Encourages me to keep giving you heads up on deals.

  • Thanks OP, bought myself a WiiU after months of waiting for a decent deal.
$318 for the bundle turns out to be a really great deal when you consider that it would still be cheaper to buy Mario Kart 8 with it (~$390) as opposed to buying the upcoming MK8+Splatoon WiiU bundle (~$439).

  • Does anyone want the Wii U bundle ? I'll get it for em as a favor.
