  • Do they ship by Australia Post express or regular?

    • Regular. Dick Smith uses Star Track.

  • is this game not multiplayer anymore? i swear i saw it on steam awhile ago and it said multiplayer :/

    • +1

fallout has never been multiplayer, so you misread.

  • Hmm not sure if I want to buy it now or wait till I get a ps4. Was hoping to wait till ps4 bundles come in for Christmas to get the best deal since I don't really need a ps4 yet and was hoping there'd be a good deal with the new 1tb model with uncharted, and fo4 but $59 is amazing….

Does anyone think the price will shoot back up after release? Also what are the chances people trade Fo4 in used and I can get it cheaper say in December?

    • +1

I doubt it. This is the best price you'll get!

      • Even used instore at jb?
DX guess I'll have to go pre-order this then suffer while I wait for my ps4 bundle…

    • gumtree. wait one week and every ps4 game is $50

  • Thanks OP. Frothing!!

  • If you prefer a Steam code emailed to you, you can buy it at ozgameshop for $59.99AUD - http://www.ozgameshop.com/pc-games/fallout-4-pc-cd-key-downl…

    • $56.39 at cdkeys with 5% Facebook like.

      • I'm all for getting bargain basement key prices, but sometimes the hoops you have to jump through aren't worth the few dollars saving…

        • +2

The hoops? If you haven't got a Facebook account fair enough but for someone who does the hoops are simply liking a page and entering a code at checkout…

          Sounds like a mighty challenge..

  • Damn Just pre ordered this from JB HI FI last week for $90. It does say that if the price drops before the release date that you will only pay the lowest price so does anyone know if ill be charged $90 or only $60?

    • +1

when I ordered mine I read that they will refund the difference if the price drops

    • Screenshot this price on their website so you have proof. They should automatically drop it to $59 for you anyway, but just in case.

    • +2

Yeahh, you need to stop pre-ordering things so early. It's not like they're gonna run out of stock….

  • +2

Went into my local store and put in a preorder. I don't usually preorder but I'm finding it hard to believe this will be a bad game and that'll I'll beat this price.

    • +2

Pre-order as long as 2 conditions have been satisfied.

      1. You're 100% it will be a good game. Check
      2. You're 100% sure it won't be cheaper anywhere else. Check

      You're safe to pre-order!

      • I think point 2 is a safe bet, but I'm not so sure on number 1. I'm looking forward to getting the game, but preorders ruin the incentives for companies to make a good game rather than a good marketing campaign. I'm looking at you Watch Dogs.
So I think it will be a good game, but I'll wait until it comes out to pick it up.

        • +1

Honestly, Bethesda just doesn't do crap like that.
Just 3 points out of 100 to give you comfort.

          1. Ubisoft released DLC with Watch Dogs. This means that they made a game - took a quarter of it out and decided to make it DLC for people to pay more. Fallout does not have any money grabbing DLC - everything they've made is what you're getting on day 1. If later they have time to make some more then that's fair enough. But everything a company has made up until day 1 should be available as part of the game by day 1.

          2. Look at the 'Fallout Shelter' mobile app. It has been incredibly well-received. The in game purchases are for little bonus lunchboxes and are not needed to progress or buy yourself into future levels.

          3. Todd Howard actually respects gamers and has a passion for delivering the best products possible. Ubisoft are just a company who is out to make money, that's also the reason why Assassin's Creed is still going. They delayed Watch Dogs release because they saw how great GTA V was (Rockstar - another great company that focuses on making the best and doesn't release bullshit paid DLC on launch day when it should have just been included with the actual game) and how poor their game was. They then attempted to fix it and it was still shit. It's a matter of quality vs quantity with these companies. You can actually trust Bethesda….

        • +2

Agreed on all fronts. Pre-ordering does create this bad situation for consumers. Also perhaps you haven't considered it yet, buy you could pay $10 for the pre-order then wait a week or unspecified amount of time before paying the rest or you can cancel for any reason and get your money back. This will give you not only the price guarantee of $59 but also the ability to check out reviews in whatever time frame you want.
I haven't looked it up yet but I don't think there is any time limit so you could wait as long as you wanted since it's going to stay in the system and if you paid cash they can't just auto refund you either.

Does anyone know if the PC version is a steam key?

  • I know it isn't just a pre-order price cause my mate works there and said it'll be that price on launch day but not sure for how long after.

  • Great price ended up preordering, now I'm not so sure what to do about the pipboy edition I've also got on order

  • Does anyone know what the shipping fee will be?

    • I just pre-ordered and the shipping fee was 99cents.

    • 99c for shipping fee. Total =$59.99 :)

  • -8

A true Ozbargain should wait to get in 2nd hand a few months later easily for $15-20

    • +5

3 months later this game won't be $15-$20 lol.

      • Yeah I reckon. I do get most of my games this gen second hand (I just got the console and am catching up on stuff I missed), and higher desired titles, even something like the GTAV remaster, I was lucky to get for $40 last month. A lot of games though I was able to get $20 to $30.

$59 is a really good release price. I can see myself having to bend and get this…

        • Yeah I was looking for Project Cars (PS4) a few weeks ago. Convinced a guy to lower the price from $60 to $50 by the skin of my teeth. That isn't even a top of the range popular title and it has been out for months yet still going for $50-$60.

    • +6

I don't think I've ever seen a new release go for this low, let alone fallout…

    • +3

I think a lot of people are genuinely excited about this game, add the fact this is a bloody good price = rabid ozbargain

    • +2

Reasonable price for a hard copy from a bricks and mortar store.
I think this many votes are from people who were thinking of buying the game (It's one of the big franchises by Bethesda), so 10~20% off is a decent amount of saving and a bargain even though it may look miniscule (if you were planning on buying anyways, a decent price from a decent source is a bargain).

    • +1

It's actually a lot more than that - RRP is $99.95 I think (??), at least thats what EB price at. Most people discount to a certain extent, and when I pre-ordered at JB last week it was $89.

Big W have come in at $69, a heavy discount off retail and JB have undercut them.

      • The RRP is ~$99 but most AAA titles that come out can generally be bought for sub $70 since there are a lot of willing buyers, and every store wants to sell to them.

  • +1

Probably this is going to be the best price ever. What a bargain. Thanks OP Pre Ordered it. I am more like Elder Scrolls type of guy but for this price I really don't want to miss. Thanks again.

  • +1

An outstanding price for a triple A game on launch, especially for consoles. Price is so-so for PC. Not going to be grabbing this one at launch (still need to finish NV) but hope everyone who gets this enjoys it.

  • +4

    JB. JB never changes.

  • Ordered thanks OP

Pity Tomb raider is still $89 as I would have loved that at this price as well :)

    • +4

      It's $69 at Big W.

  • Is JB website currently down or something? Come on JB let me pre-order mine please.

    • JB's website was taking ages to load - but just successfully ordered a copy as at 10:20am AEST. Keep trying wisi!

      • thanks steve! still NO luck :( will goto JB store tomorrow.

  • Nice!

  • Confirmed - http://i.imgur.com/wG4uiWi.png

    Deal is good in store.

    • +1

I'm not sure. Doesn't that just confirm you paid a $50 deposit? Not that I don't believe you and others that the deal is instore as well.

      • Preorder/deposit slips never tell how much the end product will be (at least as JB) since the price can fluctuate, just the amount already paid.

        • I think JB have a preorder policy where you pay the lowest price the product has been advertised for between when you preorder and when it's released.

        • @Minotaur:
          Yep "Price Guarantee:
If the price drops before the release date, you will pay the lowest price. "

That's probably why it's not on the slip.

      • It does, but the staff member confirmed with me on screen that the advertised price of $59.00 applied, I have a $9 remainder to pay on release day.

      • +7

Also I just went back in there and they have the $59 price on the shelf now.

        Proof - http://i.imgur.com/czHMm1L.jpg

Far out, I haven't even played mgs v yet and I pre ordered this.

  • Went in store today and was a little worried when the display still had $89. Went up to the counter and asked how much was to preorder … $59. Sold, will pick it up on the way home from work on release day.

    • Its a pre-order price, may not be available (or in stock) on the day.

  • +2

It's definitely legit - in the latest newsletter.

"Don't forget to pre-order Fallout 4 on PS4, XBOX ONE & PC, for just $59ea!"

  • +2

Wasn't planning on getting this so soon, but can't say no at this price. Pre-ordered in store - they had advertisements for the price too.

  • +1

The more money slipping out of EB's hands, the better!

  • Ordered :) Haven't played any of these games yet! But hoping it's good :)

    • +1

I picked up fallout 3 for like $8 on the xbox store about a year ago. I think I spent ~120 hours playing the game. Time well spent haha.

  • Who reckons Big W will reduce their price to match? Then use 5% off woolies gift card for even better deal :D

  • +6

There is an associated competition for people who have pre-ordered to win a rare Fallout Themed Custom Xbox One Console

Competition details and entry form are here: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/features/games/fallout-4/

    • +1

Nice. Now that is how to style it Fallout style, not that incessant bright and blue pip boy type themes people keep doing on things (like the bus, that xbox controller Bethasda were selling, etc).

So that is for online orders only, not instore? Looking at the fields on the form.

      • +1

Can confirm it is for both online and instore pre-orders.

Receipt numbers are for instore pre-orders.

        • +1

Ah, thanks. The wording can read that way I guess :)

        • Which one is the receipt number btw? The longer number or the shorter number?

For those of us on caps/crap internet it's a great deal on PC just to avoid the 28GB download on steam!

    • +1

Is that taking in the fact most of the game will not be on that disk…. you will still have more than just a patch to download at launch.
Edit: I see I've been negged for this comment, did you want the article for reference….
P.S I'm in the same boat anyway so…..

      • +1

Wasn't my neg, and you make a great point (so have a pos to negate it). But Bethesda said it's like games they've done before, in that case Wolf NO was about a 40GB game, my experience was that it was 30GB on disks, 10GB download. It's to avoid piracy so no pirates are going to be able to replicate several GB.

At least it'll save 20GB download or so, but true, not the entire game.

Brilliant deal, ordered x1 PC copy of Fallout 4 for $59.99 (inc. $0.99 Toll Priority Delivery).

Looking forward to having a physical copy of a PC game (it's been a while… Oblivion / Skyrim)… not to mention receiving the exclusive pre-order poster within.

I wonder what other hidden pre-order surprises await… it any? :)

    • +1

Im guessing that the poster will be like the Skyrim pre-order map, and actually in the box of every game in the first batch.
I'm also hoping its as good quality as the Skyrim map, cause that shit was so nice.

  • Just a heads up for anyone wanting to get in last minute, website is now saying pre-order not available anymore.

Exact words: "Sorry, Fallout 4 is no longer available and needs to be removed."

Edit: Appears only X1 copies available for pre-order

    • Damnit. Was literally going to go in today to get a copy for the PS4 (which alllllways sells out quicker because most of these stores haven't cottoned on to the fact that there are 2 times as many ps4 consoles held by consumers than Xbones). You reckon there's any chance going in store and giving it a stab, or would be a waste of time?

      • +1

Just for anyone else wondering. It's been put back up on the website stating 'check your local store - online is sold out'. Went to my local (Taylors Lakes, Watergardens VIC) and they had a copy on PS4 no questions asked.

  • Just got an 'Advance Shipping Notice' for my PC copy, being shipped from TOLL.
I hate Toll, they are consistently slow for me.

    • I got an email saying that, because of the supplier embargo, they weren't allowed to ship any orders until Monday next week. Did you receive this email too?

  • Got mine too.

  • Here's hoping Toll don't require a signature on delivery :-).

    • Nope they don't. They delivered my COD:BO3 last week and left in front of my home's main door (not outside door. Thanks) . Ordered FO4 too

      • Luckily mine was left at the doorstep.
Now I just have to find a way to download 20gb. yay.

  • Mine got shipped today too

  • +1

Mine got shipped as well, but the email says PS4 COD lol… This could be interesting.

  • Didn't get a shipping notification for mine? Thought they would have as I'm in NSW, looks like I won't get it on release day then.

  • This or witcher 3?

    • +2

      Both!

  • got one from jb now telling me its sent

  • am i too late? :(

EDIT: i just called my local store and they said thats going to be the normal price when its released in store. yay. KKona

    • If that's true, ebgames price match will work. Great news!

    • Nope! It's gone up to $69

  • My order status says Cancelled, even though I was charged the full amount. Bought the PC edition on the 4th Nov. Anyone else have a similar situation?
