Seems like targeted. It's not on all the cards that I have.

    • +1

Or wait for someone to find the manual link.I got this offer on my two AmEx isssued cards.

      • Manual link for $30 off $300: https://network.americanexpress.com/connect/au/en/doe_offer_…

My cards have the $50/$300 offer but I couldn't find the manual link for that one

EDIT: killabob reports this manual link didn't work. Can others report if it works or not? I can't try it because I've already registered the offer to my cards.

        • +1

This is not a manual link. The correct manual link will ask you to put your card's number and will register the card for the offer. The link you provided will ask you to sign up or log in to the amexconnect account and then when you press "enroll" it will redirect you to your amex card's site where the offer might or might not be available.

        • thanks - deal updated :)

        • @GregFiona:

…and then when you press "enroll" it will redirect you to your amex card's site

The redirection to the AMEX website only occurs for AMEX issued cards. For bank issued cards if you use my link and log in then on the same AmexConnect page it allows you to "Save to Card" right there.

        • +1

@PBG: thanks for clarifying that, it would be good if you mentioned that in the description as some ozbargainers have only AMEX issued cards.

    • Go to shopping > harvey norman

for some reason, the manual link which i tried to take wont take u directly to the claim

Both my cards are $30 off $300

You are getting $30 on Amex cards you have used in the last $50 credit deal at Harvey Norman.

      • That's correct. I used both these cards during the last $50 promotion back in May. So are you saying those that enrolled in the previous $50 promotion will only received the $30 offer this time? Makes sense.

        • +1

Those who claimed the $50 credits in the last deal will now have $30 in this deal. If you have registered the previous $50 deal but have not claimed, you will have $50 this time.

        • No. Should get $80 to make sense of it don't you agree?

        • @fatwombat:

that's for amex-issued cards - bank ones only offered $30 it seems :(

        • @fatwombat: I haven't used a Harvey Norman deal previously. My bank issued card got the $30 deal and my Amex issued car got the $50.

        • @fatwombat:

I used both Amex issued and Commbank ones for the last $50 promo. This time got $50 for Amex issued and $30 for Commbank one

        • Thanks. I supposed we don't quite know what happened here. I have one AMEX issued card with $30 credit deal and the other card $50.

  • This could be targeted? Nothing showing for me :(

    • Only 2 of my 6 cards got it.

  • +4

This offer is targeted. I have 4 Amex cards, 2 cards offer spend $300, get $50 back, the other 2 cards offer spend $300, get $30 back.

  • Link? Couldn't find HVN on the page.

  • 3 cards, one $50 (used less often), one $30 (used often) & one none (rarely used).

  • All four of my cards only have the$30 cash back

  • I only got $30, looks like it's time to use the $25 sign up voucher :)

  • $30 for $300 for me

  • +1

How Amex know, if I buy an Apple product or not?

    • They won't know. As with all similar AMEX promotion before, for examples, they always said purchase of gift card excluded but they don't bother or they have no way to check.

  • I wanted to buy some apple products, but the Offer said exclude Apple products, will I still eligible for the statement credit if I buy Apple stuff? Can they tell?

    • +1

No. They won't be able to tell. Had been confirmed in previous similar promotions.

    • Evidence suggests they can't. Last Amex/HN promotion ($50 back for $300 spent) excluded gift cards. I bought gift cards and received my $50 cashback.

      • Thanks for the confirmation - Overtime2000 and Sharp :)

  • I got the $50 off on my card, thanks OP

  • My offer on 3 cards is spend $300, get $30 back.

    Thanks OP!

  • Can someone help me with direct link?

    • I cannot locate the direct link, I think is targeted offer. It showed up in my Amex online offer once I logged in.

  • $30 for $300 spend for me. Showed up under my Velocity Platinum card.

  • seems network.americanexpress.com site infinite loops again

  • How do I register my supplementary cards?

    • If it has a distinct number to your primary card, then wait for somebody to post the direct link.

  • $50 off $300 for me. Velocity Amex.

  • 2 with $50 which is amex amex, 4 with $30 which are anz and nab

    • how many amex's do you have

      • Based on his comment, at least 6.

  • I got $300/$50 on my primary card (Plat Edge)
    Nothing on my supp card

  • -1

Its a targeted offer. Fix the title.

    • Targeted at people who have an Amex? It works on Amex issued cards ($50), as well as NAB/Westpac/CBA/Virgin/Citibank cards ($30)?

  • +1

Wonder if Harvey Norman price match Kmart's PS4 500GB $349

    • They should as it's an advertised offer, but they might ring to check whether your local Kmart has stock.

    • Same thought!

    • +2

Don't they have below cost excuses?

    • No dice, "because it's clearance stock".

  • +6

Another good option is to get a visa vpay card. It costs $5.50 on top of the charge amount but it gives you a virtual visa card that you can buy stuff on the net with (or pay a bill).

I've brought this several times when the have the cashback and have had no issues. It is essentially $44.50 for free

    • Can it be reloaded?

      • I don't think so.

        • smart idea!
they dont give you any issues for using a CC to load the vpay card?

    • +3

Does HN sell prepaid visa card?

      • ^ This

      • Pretty sure they don't. At least not the ones I've been to. Maybe some franchisees do…
I think this was back when Amex gave cashback at 7-Eleven.

  • On Velocity plat $50, on the Reserve $30 off. None on the supplementary Reserve. My partner's main velocity is the same, whereas the Reserve gets $50. So go figure how they worked that out!

  • Thanks OP.
$50 off $300 with Velocity Amex.

  • +1

Commbank Platinum only offering me $30 :(

    • because you have redeemed $50 credit in the last deal at Harvey Norman a few months.

      • I didnt actually.

    • Can you confirm how you got the offer from Commbank?

I've got Commbank Platinum but couldn't find a link anywhere to register for it

      • Signed up on the page, went through the list of offers, found the HN offered and added it to my card.

  • Not seeing any HN on mine Vel Plat :(

    • Does the manual link work for you?

      • Yep tried that no cigar, went to my Amex login however and found it there.
        Cheers OP!

  • My reserve card got $50, edge $30

  • $50 on gold amex and $30 on ANZ platinum.

  • only $30 for my card amex issued card

  • I m on Edge got $50. Just used it.

    • Anything good?

      • Bought a portable aircon. Found a better deal on retravision got HN price matched then extra $50 off bang!

        • nice

  • $300/$30 on Platinum Reserve, nothing on DJ Amex and nothing on CBA Diamond Amex.

    • My CBA Diamond worked fine?

  • Mine showed up. I'm on the AMEX Gold Charted Accountant

  • Got $50 for bmw gold and velocity amex
Only got $30 option for westpac black

  • DJ Amex manual link won't work.

  • $30 option barely worth the effort of spending $300. Think I'll pass on this one.

    • I agree. No idea why it has so many up votes.

      • I initially upvoted it when I thought it was $50 but it's mostly $30 for most of us it seems.

  • "Only" $30 off :(

    Cheers, OP.

  • only $30 for an Amex issued card here.

  • $50 on Platinum edge. Not sure I'll actually use it since I have no purchases planned, but I guess it's there.

  • most products in harvey norman are costly and $50 is not a good deal effectively. let us know if anyone finds a good deal

  • $30 on Platinum Edge

  • $50 on Amex issued card. How do I register my ANZ issued card with Amex Connect? When I enter my card number it tells me I can't register and should call the number on the back of the card.

  • My experience with this so far is that in AMEX Connect (where I have all my bank-issued AMEXs), the offer only appears on one of the cards (Westpac). I have successfully saved the offer to this card (spend $300 get $30).

With the other cards (after using their "Switch Card" feature) it does not appear as an offer at all, and when I use the link above, it does not allow me to save the offer but it does not give me any error message either. It acts as if nothing has happened, but this is the only way I have been able to view the offer on the other cards.

  • hmmm, my Amex Amex account now shows $30 instead of the $50 when I activated the offer

    • Still $50 for me.

  • +1

also note not all harvey normans are participating.. I just spent $300+ at Carindale QLD and didn't get email, checked on amexconnect, the store isn't listed on there… sucks :(

    • was not aware of that, that does suck

    • The stores are listed by nearby location, only NSW stores for me.No email does not mean no statements back.Wait a few day and find it out.

    • just an update: even though i didn't receive an email, i got the $30 refund to my amex card. also, i bought an ipad, even though Apple is on the exclusions list :)

  • Can't find harvey norman in my account

PBGs link give me this message:

We're sorry, this offer is no longer available, however you can find more great offers below.

  • Can anyone confirms this works with online purchases? It says it should… I'm a little dubious, dunno why I just am.
Also T&C's say no apple, miele etc, looking at a miele vacuum cleaner, assume they (AMEX) have no idea on what was purchased (either instore or online)?

    • -1

AFAIK it shouldn't. Online purchases are usually billed as "card not present" transactions, which I'm pretty sure is excluded from this promotion. You'd have to put it through a physical merchant terminal for it to qualify.

    • Offer specifically says:

'spend $300 or more on their registered Card online or in-store at Harvey Norman'

So should be fine for online purchases.
