  • TA, how the hell do you find is stuff? It's Hobart FFS!!! You are a machine!

    • It's about time Hobart got a deal all to itself :)

    This deal is rubbish.

Don't trash the effort though. Some people will have bin looking for this sort of deal.

  • No asbestos is a deal breaker. Is nuclear waste 'hazardous'?

    • +1

Not according to the government and Ziggy Switkowski.

  • The Bast..d's in council only have the free days due to the fact they removed all hard waste pick ups in Hobart, we used to have 2 then 1 and now none :(

    • Yes, my local council did this too - they have a "1 free callout for rubbish removal" per year - I tried to use it - they refused to pickup anything because they said none of it was "suitable" /packaged correctly and just pissed off…
They never rang the doorbell or anything - just left a note in the postbox (because I would have been happy to help them load it in their truck etc.)

  • Wollongong Council (I'm shaming them) has such a long list of exclusions it's ridiculous. Down to two booked pickups a year. Tip fees are outrageous.
Marrickville Council, as many pick ups as you want, can be one item or huge piles. They also have regular days for paint but even better they have recycling of electronics, cables everything. To top that, they mow everyone front verge and sweep the gutters. Great service.

So just the tip, not the whole thing? ><

  • Thanks for posting.

I wish there would be a deal like this for City of Greater Geelong shire residents. The council was kind enough to give us a floating Christmas tree but still won't provide even 1 annual hard rubbish collection :(
