$10/Month for First 3 Months on $40 Sim Only Plan @ Optus (Must Have Optus Broadband)

90

Hey guys.

After speaking to an Optus Customer Service Consultant, they told me I can get the $40 sim only plan for only $10 per month for the first 3 months.
(New services only)

The plan offers:
- 3 GB Data
- Unlimited calls to Australian mobiles, landlines, 1300 numbers and voicemail.
- Unlimited SMS to national and international numbers
- 150 minutes of international talk to specific countries
- CANCEL ANY TIME

This beats porting your number every month. As I said before, you must have an optus broadband service, otherwise it's $20 a month for the first 3 months.

Thanks OP, I'll actually get $70 plan, gives me 10GB Data, Unlimited Calls in Australia and Selected Countries. And I only have to pay $35 for the first three months and then I'll port my number out after three months and use all the Vodafone $50 Packs, which I bought it on half price. "Win-Win"

I appreciate that you shared this deal. Thanks heaps

    • Just to give you guys a heads up about Selected Countries: Austria, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.

    • I don't have Optus Broadband, but still a nice deal.

  • New Services Only for this deal, Also I just noticed Optus has also changed their prepaid plans. Just waiting for Optus to offer 3 months free with Netflix prepaid again so I can stock up on cheap Netflix ;)

    • Whats your plan to be able to get many 3 months subscriptions?

When Netflix launched, Optus was giving 3 Months free Netflix with any new Optus Prepaid Handset and 6 months free with a new home broadband service. That deal has expired, however Optus have started offering the free 6 months Netflix for home broadband again. I am hoping they will do it for prepaid handsets as well soon. If so, Coles usually has basic Optus candy bar handsets for $10 -$15, you just buy the prepaid phone for 3 Months netflix which has a value of $36, and then use the phone as a paperweight ;)

  • Just to clarify, new services only means no porting from pre-paid?

    • YOu might have to buy a $2 sim from telstra or Vodafone or Boost etc.. Port to them then back to this deal.

      • Quickly spoke to their online chat, was offered 50% off for 3 months + $10 discount after that on the $40 plan when porting from Optus pre-paid. Now to see how I go doing it when the broadband is actually my parents :P

        • As long as your address/billing address, should be ok?
