Being new to Oz z, I have a question to ask. Where would I go for unlocked phones? To buy, I mean. In England we have so many options including amazon and second hand local stores as well as the Google Play stores and other brand online stores.
I'm in the. Market for a new phone and was wondering if prices would drop closer to Xmas? I'm not in a hurry. Android for sure. Apple if the price is right. (this is for another family member)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Aussie carriers lock their phones. Bought my Z3 Compact from Telstra last year and use it on Optus no issues.
My wife's last 2 phones (Galaxy S4, Galaxy Core) and mine (Galaxy S4) were all locked. All the wireless broadband dongles I bought from Telstra were locked.
