Paragon NTFS for Mac 14 (Single License) $4.96 USD / ~ $7.03 AUD (RRP $9.92 USD)

270

The new OS X El Capitan has been released. It provides several very important security improvements. We have radically overhauled the NTFS for the Mac engine to fully support the new OS X security features.

Key features in NTFS for Mac 14:

  • OS X 10.11 El Capitan support
  • OS X System Integrity Protection (SIP) compatibility
  • Full read/write access to NTFS partitions under OS X
  • Unprecedented high NTFS performance
  • Easy to install and to use

And it is worth: Our NTFS file system driver is the fastest one on the market!
Tests have proven it: The native NTFS driver (which can read only) has the same read performance as Paragon NTFS for Mac®. Also, Paragon NTFS for Mac® is much faster than our competitor's file system driver.

Here are the test results: http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/product_perfor…

  • Thanks OP ~ My older version stopped working after upgraded OS to El Capitan. Is this price in USD or AUD ?

Edited: Just checked … AUD is $16.22.

  • Thanks for AUD

If you're conformable with using the command line, here's a free alternative to read/write to NTFS. The OS has disabled this feature by default, but it's simple to switch on and no extra software required. The thing is, you'll need to set up for each NTFS drive you have.
    Guide available here: http://www.cnet.com/au/news/how-to-manually-enable-ntfs-read…

    • why would they (apple) have the function turned off? Is it just to be anti-windows?

actually reading the comments on the link seems that quite a few have problems reading the disk after a few weeks.

  • Nice one book, I'll try it out. Never heard you could do this.
I tried the trial version of paragon & was looking to buy after that. But hell, free method wins hands down every time!.

    • My advice: pay the money. Using a poorly tested and supported driver for a file system is like using a bargain-basement hard drive as your only backup.

(Note: I currently use V12 of this software and will be upgrading one way or another. I also tried the Tuxera software and the performance was much worse, and as PVA pointed out some users have had pretty bad experiences simply allowing writing by the Mac NTFS driver)
(Edit: I should just point out that while I really like the Paragon NTFS driver, my experiences with the Mac EXT driver has been much more negative and I don't recommend trying to use it).

If it's important stuff, still probably worth getting Paragon. I've used it in the past and it's been great to get to BootCamp

    • yep, I think it is much safer.

Anyone tried this version of paragon ntfs from seagate?
    http://www.seagate.com/au/en/support/downloads/item/ntfs-driver-for-mac-os-master-dl/
It is version 14.0.456, which according to Paragon NTFS release notes is compatible with El Capitan…

    • I've been using the free Seagate version for about 2 months. No issues so far.

    • The "free" version from Seagate only works on Seagate drives

    • Thanks ~ this saved me $14. Luckily all my NTFS-format external drives are Seagate.

  • Get a free alternative here. It works on all drives, not just Seagate drives. Supports El Capitan as well as earlier OS X- Haven't had the need to test speed, but, it just works! Anyone care to try it & test speed, then report back?

  • Nice - I've been using Paragon for years - Totally worth the money. Just grabbed my activation key - This saves a lot of headaches!

  • Not sure why but the going price for this is now only AU$7.03, so it's 50% off the price listed above!

    So I've bought it!!

  • Sorry for the stupid question… Us the main aim of this software to allow me to copy files to an NTFS drive?

    • Without software modification (e.g. this Paragon program), Macs can't/won't write to NTFS formatted drives. They'll read, but not write.

  • What is the difference between the one in the OP and this one? Apart from the language support. The one in the OP says original price is USD9.99 whereas the one that is linked on the official website has a RRP of USD19.99.
What is it I am missing?

    • Both same

the link above is a special deal link where they have just dropped price recently. Previously (24hrs ago) it was USD $19.99

      Price might rise again ..

      • Nice, thank you.
This price is extremely good. Even my "update offer" as a previous customer is more than double the OP price…
