  • any personal experience of this product? seems like people are complaining about the wireless range

    • I'm about 10m away from the Modem, though divided by a wall. I get 4/5 bars of reception.

    • I am using this right now. Broadcom based modem chip so pretty stable for long lines.

Wifi isn't as good as the TP-Link Archer C5 v1.20 through brick walls, and being AC still way better than any 802.11n router. Keep in mind this was released in 2013 with draft AC spec, but I think should conform to finalised AC through firmware update.

      Also note 60W power brick…

  • its a gd modem, i just bought one couple of weeks back from dicksmith for $180 :(

  • +1

I reckon the Archer D7 from EB would be a better purchase.

  • I haggled this down to 130 odd at the start of the year
No complaints on the range or the stability.
Can't compare this to the TP link, but this is miles better than my old 75 dollar billion modem/router

  • No idea if you can compare it to the R6300 (non modem) version, but I've owned one of those for a couple of years, and never had a problem with it. However, the range on it isn't awesome. It goes from 5 bars to 4 bars after a ridiculously short distance.

  • Great modem

  • How does it compare to the spider modem?

Looks much better at least, and more compact. That one couldn't stand vertically.

I just wish this one stood up straight instead of leaning to the side. I really don't have much space on my desk and this will take up more width than it would if it stood straight.

  • How did it become 158?
