Just received an email that Microsoft are again offering the $25 cashback deal on Office 365, for purchases made between the 18th of November until the 3rd of January 2016.

I was holding out for this $25 cashback offer but renewed my Office 365 subscription yesterday on the 17th! Bugger…

Typical market prices for Office 365 Home at Harvey Norman, JB Hi-fi etc. are around $100 and down to ~$80 at various computer stores.

Edit: Just a heads up that the T&C's say the purchase must be "from an eligible Australian retailer with a current Australian Business Number (ABN) or Microsoft Store online (microsoftstore.com.au)" but does not show a specific list of eligible retailers. The logos for Microsoft, Bing Lee, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and The Good Guys are shown at the bottom of the page however.

    • great if you employer participates. I'm self-employed

      • Iinet/Other telco is a good one too :)

        • Especially when you get 20 free email addresses with iiNet business accounts (not sure how many non business accounts get, I'm with Internode at home) so just created a new mailbox using work's account and signed up for it for my PC at home, worked like a charm! Didn't even think of just creating a new email address with them when I purchased a copy originally.

        • @Porthos:
Do you know if you retain iinet addresses after you leave them (just auto forward to another address)?
We are considering leaving them due to lack of unlimited mobile calls on their business phone packages and lack of unlimited internet.

        • @yoyomablue: Sorry mate, totally didn't get the notification for this. To be honest I'm not too sure, I think there may be a yearly fee for it. I'm with Internode at home and although I manage the iiNet connection at work, I haven't really looked too much into it! Maybe a quick email to their accounts will tell you an answer? Or else I'm sure you could find something on Whirlpool :)

Yep, there are pros and cons with either option, just need to choose your poison. With a family of 5, the "5 PC's + 5 tablets + 5 smartphones" and the Onedrive storage are the reasons why I use 365. Also, my previous employer participated in the HUP but my current one does not unfortunately.

    • Using iinet email addresses, that means 5 PCs cost $37.50
Great deal, considering its permanent, not just one year.

I did min on the 16th, when it ran out. D'oh !

I also tried chasing them up that they never actually paid the cashback from last year…"not my department" they claimed. Have to ring in business hours….I'd love to get up a class action against cashback rorters /dreaming

    • I got mine back no hassles, was just as described. So not rorting everyone (I did buy a Big W recharge)

  • Any idea what happens if I add 12 months of office 365 home (the 5 user one) to my account while I have 4 months left of office 365 personal?

    • +2

      You'll then have 16 months left…

play it safe and get a price match at OW then…

  • Sorry new to this..but what is the use of the 365 version when you can already use the web based version to edit eg. open/edit docx from email.

    • For me it's the 1Tb one drive storage per person + 60 minutes of Skype then being able to install full latest versions is the gravy.
Thanks to Ozb & cashback I got all that for $45 edit: web version also doesn't support encrypted/password locked files (which I use when storing sensitive data on onedrive) and probably some other features are limited.

    • if youre finding the web based version good enough then save the money and keep using that. most people do thats why ms has to sweeten the deal with free storage and skype calls. if you have an android device you can get ms office on it free too.

  • It's not cheap enough, my office 2007 does the job.

  • I brought office 365 home and a couple of HP ink cartridges from DSE, with $30 off DSE (clear30), $25 cashback from MS and $20 cashback from HP Win!

  • Anyone got a better deal than OW @ $96 - $25 = $71 (do they price match Umart $89 online price usually?

    • +1

      Dick smith with CLEAR15, $99-$15-$25=$59

      • +1

Ah, Thanks, I was only seeing the $119 physical version before, but found the digital download version for $99

  • I bought it when there was a 50% off offer on OZBargain last time. How can I claim this?

  • It looks like you can buy it for $54 at officeworks http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/microsoft-o…
Does that work with the promo?
    $54 - $25 = $29 can't go wrong with that price

  • Can you stack this with Google Play? ie Purchase the 12 months on Google Play and use that receipt or would Google Play be an overseas retailer?
