Telstra $30 Starter Kits $5 (after $10 Cashback) @ PricePal

360

Save 50% on Telstra $30 Pre-Paid Starter Kit for $15 delivered from Telstra and combine with $10 cashback from Pricepal. You can get extra $5 Buddy bonus so potentially you can get 1 free SIM.

I guess that Pricepal will have similar offer so I asked them when will it be live and just got message back from Pricepal team.

Pricepal will also match your cashback up to your referral credit you have left, so potentially this deal is better than Cashrewards.
You can use a referral link from your friend to get $5 credit for both of you. My referral link is below if you need it :)

How Our Referral Program Works
PricePal will pay you $5 “buddy bonus” cashback for every new member who you refer that joins PricePal and installs the PricePal web app – see “qualified referral” below. You may refer multiple friends and you will earn $5 bonus cashback for each friend. Each dollar of bonus cashback is paid to you for every dollar of cashback you earn. We effectively are matching you dollar for dollar on all the cashback you normally earn!

  • Is this available to all as I dont see any mention of the bonus credit?

the pricepal links to the HTC Desire 510 Grey - any issues that it doesn't link to the starter kit?

    • +1

It is stated in the special offer section, maybe I should ask them to link directly to the $30 starter kit

Hey mrshorty, Telstra had an issue with their website, but the correct link is showing now

      • Thanks - was waiting for a pricepal deal on this as I don't have a cashrewards account (and will stick to PP hasn't failed to track my purchases yet)!

  • +3

Yeah but its kind of gambling.
It all depends IF the Gods smile on you and and the PricePal picks up your purchase and then pays it out.
That is not something you can rely on.

i find the same thing happens with cashrewards… suspiciously, large purchases don't seem to register but the $1.50 purchases from ebay do!

  • lotta effort and luck involved, pass but good luck

    • I found that pricepal is more reliable than CR, CR still haven't paid me for my booking.com cashback. With Pricepal, you can have that widget button on your chrome address bar and you will not missed the cashback link.

I have the buddy bonus cash back, but have never received any.
PricePal has repeatedly failed to track my purchases & does not answer my complaints. My last & only cash back was $1.32 in August last year :-(

    • Hi Infedel, sorry to hear that we haven't replied to your concerns - can you please PM us your user email address and we can look into this for you? We have a new & improved member service procedures since August last year, so hopefully we can help this time :)

    • PricePal responded they have no record if my 2 transaction enquiries for 1 transaction, sent from my account:-(
      Will follow up.

  • Buddy Bonus is only $5 now,not $20,not worth doing it at all!

    OP,please correct your description.

    • Oh sorry I didn't know this, well still at least you can get 1 free :)

Rep, you went quiet. Did you end up finding the cash back you advertised for the last Telstra deal that I bought?

    • Just private messaged you on this one… yep found your account with us.

      • Got it cheers. If Telstra has an issue with cash back then perhaps it should be noted

There is no point in stocking up this anymore. All thanks to nicois for his great effort to get Telstra to shut down the Credit Me2U glitch as fast as possible. There are always some morons spoiled it for everyone else… Same as those who even ask Live chat to confirm the bug… Unbelievable. The glitch has been fixed completely on Monday 23/11

    • Where did this play out SH?
      Whirlpool?

      • I noticed Telstra was changing its systems over the weekend. Telstra 24/7 stated there would be technical difficulties while the upgrade occurred. So thought there would be likely changes to data service glitch, so did some CreditMe2U.

#100# lost CreditMe2U recharge option by 21st. CreditMe2U still worked on SMS & $10 added 1GB to Data Pass SIM that day.

You can still transfer credit in or out of Data Pass SIM via sms but moving $10 credit in no longer increases data. At least Telstra haven't removed that (yet).

Original description of Data Pass was credit could not be moved from sim. So credit could only be used for $2/MB Data or Google Play! Data Pass had the advantage over previous broadband plan by adding $30 credit on top of the 3GB previously offered.

        • Right, so activating a Data Pass SIM (hopefully a $1-5 one), using the 3GB on say an iPad or whatever and moving the credit off to another Telstra service remains the smartest way to play this out?
I had meant to get around to starting a Data SIM and shuffling some credit from my spare phone, which is a Telstra prepaid but just never had time to sit down and do it.
We still have the extra 5GB with any new registrations of Telstra Freedom Plus SIMS which is a pretty handy way to get some holiday data.

        • @King Tightarse:
Hi KT. There are rare iPad Starter Packs around for 50c, but those activate as Data Pass with 3GB but no credit.

For $1+, $30 starter packs activated as Data Pass give 3GB plus $30 credit that can still be used for calls etc on another Telstra SIM by transferring with CreditMe2U via SMS. That's still a good use.

You're not the only one to delay using the glitch until it was too late. I'm a low volume data user, with too many unused sims, who recently became a higher data user after using the glitch to watch movies. I just bought a 4GX phone to use all that lovely data. Back to a data diet for me 😖

        • thoughts, prepaid aficionados :
Wednesday I saw 40gb of datapass retire on 24x7 app \25 Nov 15): Know whether this can be revived by a credit card $10 recharge+ ???

Although it would seem disappeared, the data is meant to hang there I understand. just unsure how far does that grace extend after 24h while Ive enjoyed a good outcome either way.

        • @daver:
Hi daver. So did your credit expire / disappear, taking your data with it? Or did the data expire?

Best place to ask that is in whirlpool forum dealing with Data Pass. Read report there ages ago of top up of credit the next day recovering data. But that was in the days of the glitch :(

I lost everything once when my credit ($1+) was used rather than my stored data (5GB). Got a shock. But data returned when I added credit.

If you have credit on another Telstra SIM - use creditme2u of $1 (worked on sms 1258888 "transfer" yesterday).

If it's the data that expired, adding $10 real money adds 1GB. But that would only give you 3 days before you need to add more money! 41GB in 3 days… Adding $50 will then preserve it for a year.

Last resort - contact Telstra support.

          Hope it works!
It was good while it lasted.

    • People have stocked up with cheap SIMs long before the Data Pass glitch. I advised that when I wrote the Telstra wiki years back.

And like all glitches, it's just a matter of time before its fixed to prevent losses.

Of course some people can't help themselves either contacting Telstra to confirm a useful fault or being too greedy causing it to be drawn to the attention of Telstra.

  • Can someone please confirm how telstra check your ID? do they require the courier to check it?
    Thanks
    Matt

    • Yeah, they asked for my licence this morning and took the number.

      • What courier?

        • Satchel says StarTrack. Didn't look at the van.

        • @jaxxon: thanks

  • Cash Rewards have the same deal on, so I ordered one yesterday. CR has sent me a tracking receipt for the $10 cashback, and hopefully it's not too long before it's credited to my account.

  • I notice that CashRewards has an interesting clause for their Telstra cashback.

Cashback will be paid once per 'checkout' from Telstra.

So I guess that would mean if you wanted to buy multiple SIM packs, you'd have to do them in separate transactions. I don't see this listed for PricePal. Has anyone tried purchasing multiple packs in one transaction yet?

  • Personally recommended Cash Rewards, PricePal always missed the transaction and not able to track

    PricePal About 60% Claim Trackable

    Cashrewards About 95% Claim Trackable

  • Hopefully Telstra will match Optus pre-paid offer soon.

  • Does the cashback apply for a second purchase?

  • It seems that the web page states it is still on sale but when you go to purchase it, the charge is $30 so I suspect that Telstra are withdrawing this discount tonight.
