    Thanks OP!

You might as well change the title to $10.98 delivered as that is the price Australia wide. Also, shipping is capped at $9.99 so you can add other items to your order (no matter how large) and shipping for your entire order will not exceed $9.99

      Thanks mate .
Changed .I am new to posting and appreciate your advise.

Guys. Listen. Theres a reason this is $10.

I have one of these and it is absolutely rubbish. Literally just a cube made of standard camera padding in the worst constructed sling bag. When you get your bag follow these steps to avoid disappointment.

    1) Take out the camera padding (actually okay)
    2) Throw away the sling bag
    3) Put camera padding at the base of an old backpack

I bought it when it was $15 or so and wouldn't buy again for more that $5.

    Some afterthoughts:

The main purpose of a camera bag is to keep your expensive gear protected. This bag doesn't offer that. Spend a little bit more on something high quality/secure and be confident that your gear isn't getting beaten around. I personally use this https://www.manfrotto.com/products/bags/advanced-active-back… and love it. Wouldn't in a million years think of walking around with the Lowerpro sling unless it was a point and shoot/gopro.

    • Yeah I found this video review for the 18L version but you are right, it looks very flimsy and the shoulder strap also looks pretty average: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq72d1_ehac

      and another here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DVNSfykBQ8

    • +2

Not to argue your point, but the main purpose of a camera bag isn't always about protection. I have plenty of other Lowepro bags, and all for different reasons. Protection can be paramount at times, but portability and ease of access sometimes overrides this. I still believe this product has its place.

      • I didn't downvote the deal because for $10 some might find use in it. But I disagree with the ease of access as the sling isnt evenly weighted and doesn't hold shape when a heavier camera is in it (I tested with a GH3) making it somewhat fiddly to get the camera in and out.

My main point is that if it isn't used for protection there isn't many positives left (at least in my eyes).

    • +2

Personally, I doubt this is something anyone with expensive gear would buy. I grabbed one for carrying some bits n pieces and my occasional use $199 EOS M. The expensive gear goes into a much better bag.

    • agree with @stairy comment, each bag suits different need, style & protection level (no point comparing). Could always re-purpose the sling bag if unused (eg. dirty laundry at the gym etc.).. will use it with my GoPro.

    • I actually bought it just to get the padding and plan to do what you suggested.
The insert is good if you want to put your camera in just any bag - daypack maybe.

      • +2

Yep insert is good. Has a stringpull cover that comes over the top too.

    • +2

Agreed - didn't pick this up on the last deal. Ended up seeing it in-store and was glad I held back. Won't grab it at this price for my gear - fine if you're after a nappy bag though.

If you're after a sling-style bag definitely check out the Lowepro Passport sling range - much better build. I've got one in my collection of bags and its great.

    • I have a Tamrac backpack that fits a Body with 16-50 2.8, a Body with 70-200 2.8, a nifty 50, a Battery Grip and a Flash. That is in the belly of the bag… the top section also holds a 6 pack of cans, and the laptop compartment holds 3 bottles of wine. Handy for when you don't want to leave any of the rider in the band room at the end of the night…

However… I learned while spending 3 weeks in Japan that carting 12kg of camera equipment gets old pretty quickly. So a day bag is a good compromise

  • Damn…. I have bought the big orange one earlier from COTD… But the price is so attractive… I would have used my $10 visa checkout credit if it came out earlier.

    Do I need anther one???

  • i tried using the $5 from the android APP, but after adding the coupon code, they disappear, so sadly no way to make it even cheaper :(

  • +2

OK so found out codes don't stack but if you buy 3 things from https://m.catchoftheday.com.au/event/mega-beauty-sale-50073/, shipping comes down to $5

I just added 3 items from there, plus bag and paid via Visa checkout, total just under $15

  • Thanks OP got one.

  • awesome got it for .98c

  • i have the older model (maybe gen 1 or 2 or 3), very similar but the strap is different and there were no zipper but just pockets.
i think mine has better materials and thicker.

    • Why was this negged?

      • +2

Probably because the bag he's talking about isn't the one in the deal, it's an "older model". I bought this bag recently (both the smaller and larger version) and there are zips. It's a bit average as a camera bag, but suitable for lighter use, e.g. you're driving somewhere and want a bag to carry/protect your gear on the way there but you're taking it out as soon as you're there.

        • +1

Ahh gotcha, thanks for the reply :)

  • thanks OP.
such a good way to start a day…..

  • +2

I found $10 credit in my account, woot! Ended up costing $0.98.

  • Bought it just for the insert. Gonna throw the actual main bag away.

    • In that case donate it to the local op shop, it would function fine as a gym bag or uni bag.

  • +1

I have one Lowepro camera / backpack bag. It has taken a hammering, been my daily driver for years, filled to bursting most of the time.

Its current condition is essentially perfect, these bags are second to none quality wise. I cant speak about this particular bag quality wise, but I would heartily recommend them.

    • +1

Lowerpro make great bags - almost always…

      • -1

Is this bag the 'almost' for always?

  • Thanks OP.Got one.

  • $10 nappy bags. pretty good :)

    • Exactly my thought! First baby on the way! :D

    • happy when its $0.98c :)

      • Same; 98 cents is a no brainer for those who got the credit.

  • I like, I buy.

  • Although it's cheap a lot of people are slamming the quality of this bag. Is it really that bad? I have the Lowepro Passport sling, which I've used extensively and it's still going strong. Has anyone used both and can comment on how they compare? The downsides to the Passport sling are that it doesn't have the pull cover to the camera compartment so not as versatile to be pulled out and used in another bag (which I still do) and it's a bit small for my larger DSLR, whereas the 18L version of the above bag would surely be bigger.

    • +2

I just bought one to look hip.

    • Ah the coupon doesn't work for the 18L version anyway…

  • Also bought for $0.98c due to random $10 credit :) Thanks OP and COTD :P

what does code herald27 do exactly? is it specifically for this bag only?

  • This bag was $5 a month or two again?

That deal is $14.99. Where does it say it's $5?

  • $5 +p/h but p/h free for club catch members over $20

  • Thanks!

  • Didn't need another camera bag but bought for the removable compartment alone… that'll be good to stick in any bag.

  • can we use that code on other items as well?

    • tried the same code on the 18L version of this Lowerpro … no luck, sorry

      • 18L in sale now for $5.10-

  • -3

no paypal, then no…. and i have to log in, which is stupid.

  • bought! been looking for a small bag.

used referral link and got $10 store credit, expires in a year :)

  • Thanks OP. I saw in the newspaper but didn't really thought about buying my second sling bag.

Actually it wasn't that bad. It isn't that rigid but IMHO it is quite useful when you are having a short trip/ beach. I used the bag to carry my Ozbargain Rayban sunglasses, Selfie stick Thanks to TA and water bottles. I can't resist when I can get it free with Finish dishwashing tablets (20c/ tablet).
