CXMASTECH

To qualify for Double Cashback $200 cashback from Canon, buy these 2 products:

Canon camera 100D:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Canon-EOS-100D-Body-/121745489406

Canon 24mm f/2.8 lens STM:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Canon-EF-S-24mm-F2-8-STM-/1217454…

Or you can choose 40mm STM lens, which I have already. Due to their lightweight, these combos can compete with mirrorless cameras, and arguably offer better image quality and lens selections.

  • How does this Canon rate vs the Nikon D3300 as a Beginner's SLR?

    • I think just comparing the specs is not enough. Camera is very personal thing. You have to play with both and see which one is more to your liking.

    • +1

Just buy one and stick with one.

Normally people prefer one over an other for brand loyalty, dont think it make much difference on entry level bodies.

When it gets to the full frame professional gears, Nikon tend to have a more vivid green and blue colour for outdoor shooting, whilst canon will bring out the red in wooden furnitures such as inside a church.

  • Do you think there's going to be any issue with the double cash back? The terms and conditions state that you need to have all the items on the one invoice, but being ebay seller, is it possible they get different invoices from different Teds stores for each item?

    • Good point. Teds customer service has always been good and helpful. I am pretty sure they can find a way to make the promo works.

  • If the extra item is $209 but then you get 20% off that would that make it ineligible for the double cash back? Or is it based on before eBay discount?

    • +2

The invoice from Teds (or any other stores) never includes the 20% off. Therefore, you can legitimately claim the Canon cash back. The 20% is what eBay "pays" you but Canon does not know about it - nor should they.

      • Also if you TRS'ed this puchase, you got back the GST from original invoice before discount.

  • The 40mm STM lens is $199.95…so apparently this would fail the double cash back.

  • Just received the camera and lens. Final cost after adding postage ($9.95) and substracting cashback ($200), cashrewards ($19.7) and TRS ($74.53) is $363.60. The lens itself is retailed at $204 (DigiDirect). So the body only cost me $160. That's a great bargain, considering BHPhoto is selling USD399 after rebate and DigiDirect is selling AUD474 after AUD100 cashback.
