In memory, Chromecast only costed less than $30 from previous deal? Why is it so expensive now?
I suspect it has to do with the AUD dropping. I imagine the devices are bought wholesale in US dollars which would have allowed better undercutting in the past.
Regardless, I would probably wait until the new Chromecast is available in Australia, rather than buying this one, as it supports 5GHz wifi and has a better 2.4GHz antenna. My current one is a bit funky unless it has a very strong wifi signal.
can chroecast have kodi? or plex? or something similar?
Plex works fine casting from an app on your phone/tablet etc. Don't think Kodi is supported but not 100% sure.

You can't install anything on a Chromecast, that's not how it works.
You can install apps on a devices that are compatible with Chromecast like an iPhone or android/PC
