Thanks. Are there other tablets available? From where did you get the figure of $18/month. I can't find that in the linked page. Says $55 there.

Other tablet also available, just need to chat with Telstra to confirm the price. I think for Android tablet, this is the best you can buy right now. Online doesn't show $18/month for the device, need to do via online chat or in-store purchase. I did it via in-store purchase.

Interesting. Seems like a good deal since it comes with data and the model is LTE.

I don't think anyone would pay $1000 for this though.

I'm not a huge fan of Sony mobile products, but I'm tempted to impulse buy it now. Except I just signed up for the Amaysim 5 months free 2GB deal. I don't think I could use 4.5GB a month. If I didn't sign up for that, I would have taken this in a jiffy. Just used the second sim in my dual sim phone.

  • Would this be available to Telstra home broadband customers? Or only mobile postpaid customers?

Data share sim requires a post-paid mobile account.

confirmed via sales chat just signed up to the m byo plan 5gb for $40 a month then add the Z4 Tablet $18/Month + Data Share Sim $15/Month total $73 a month

    • So just to clarify, the deal link above shows $55pm/$1320 for 2.5gb/m. If you want the cheaper price, you need to use chat or in store.

      • Correct the guy didn't know straight away so be patient

    • I signed up for the same plan. Total $73/month. At the very end, when I asked about keyboard, sales said I am not eligible.

Can't understand how Sony charged so much for this, I bought the Z2 when released for half the price and the Z4 has only minor improvements.

    • Yes, ths is an expensive Android Tablet, Any outstanding features?

      • Besides water resistance, no.

Screen is nice, and front facing stereo speakers are nice too… but definitely are not outstanding features compared to competitors.

        To me it's overpriced.

Edit. if you're into PlayStation, this can become a screen for your ps4. This may be an outstanding feature…

      • It has a bright 2K screen, is incredibly light weight and has a 64Bit octacore Snapdragon 810 processor.

You can also remotely connect to your PS4. I'm yet to discover if it will work for PlayTV.

  • im a bit confused as well. so do you get an additional 2.5gb of data?

  • man I wish had a telstra post paid account. I would love to take advantage of this offer.

  • Got 2x, thanks OP

Did you need to have 2 eligible mobile services to get 2?

      • I just called 1800 number. Asked the rep and he said they can stack.

      • For each Go Mobile Plan, you can activate upto 5 Data Share Sim. I have 4 activated currently thanks to this and previous Telstra deals.

        • Does this mean that you can get multiple devices as well (with only 1 go plan)?

        • @kearnsy:

Yep i got a Samsung Tab A for free with 2.5 GB

        • @ChickenAdobo:

So you got multiple Samsung Tab A devices and data share sims, having only 1 eligible mobile service?

        • @kearnsy:

I had 2 extra data share service, one 5 Buck share sim with 100 MB bonus , one 15 buck with the free samsung tablet.

This is hands down the best tablet on the market at the moment. After upgrading from the Z2 tablet I'm impressed with everything the Z4 has to offer. It still feels great in the hand, lightweight and slim, I can hold on to the tablet for hours without the arm getting sore.

It is still waterproof as well, which is an absolute killer feature when I use mine in the kitchen to look up recipes with my hands covered in sauces, flour, oil and all manners of ingredients. Just run the tablet under the tap and it's clean again. Plus it's always amusing to see my coworkers faces when I wash my Z4 in the sink.

The ace up the sleeve that renders all other tablets obsolete? PS4/3 Remote Play. With a fast connection (like Telstra) you can play your PS4/3 games anywhere. The Z4 can connect to a PS3 and/or PS4 dualshock controller natively, and you can start playing games like Fallout 4 and GTA V at just about anywhere.

Best (profanity) tablet I have ever used.

    • I got a Z2 tab but it does everything I need. Battery life is bloody awesome (10+ days with occasional use). How is the battery life on the Z5 tab?

      • *Z4.

        • I found it on par with the Z2. I get a bit over an hour playing PS4 games on 100% brightness. Over 14 hours of constant Youtube surfing. Stamina mode enabled. The battery life is still just as impressive

  • I try to talk to the agent via chat and they do not know anything about this and ask to go to Telstra store.
So is this via discount price only ? So how would you ask the agent or Teltra store to provide this discount ?
Any snapshot of the deal being done ? There is do url link to prove anything and they won't give the discount.
Anyone else can tell me how to get this deal ?

    Thanks.

Via chat, tell them you are current Telstra Go Mobile Plan customer, and would like to sign up for Data Share Sim Plan (minimum $15/month plan to be eligible to claim the bonus Keyboard). Then tell them you would like to get the device (z4) as well, so they will check the price for z4 for you. As mentioned in the OP, Z4 is $18/month with $15 data share sim.

      • ok. thank you for explaining the steps.

      • do I really need to be a current Telstra Go Mobile Plan customer?

      • What happens when the post paid mobile contract runs out, or if you are on a casual plan and you cancel it?

Does the $33/month deal for the z4 tablet keep going regardless?

  • Bugger, just tried to sign up for this one but as I'm an existing small business customer - $57 per month, total $1368,with no keyboard!

  • What if I was at the end of my telstra 24 month contract, signed up for this and then switched to optus or Voda?
What would I pay? Any fees or fines? Is this doable?
Or would it put me on a new mobile contract as well? As in, would it renew my contract?

  • What happens when the post paid mobile contract runs out, or if you are on a casual plan and you cancel it?

Does the $33/month deal for the z4 tablet keep going regardless?

  • What if one is not a current customer? Says you have to be with telstra for 6 months. Did anyone sign up as a new customer and get the deal?
