V8 to V8 power sharing? I hope it's all at the rear wheels.

They don't even know what they are selling:

"OS: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Linux"

  • Just fyi it's cheaper on eBay with stock in Australia

      why plus vote then.

Would handy for those who carry two devices and no additional power cables/power banks. It sounds like a great product in theory but would hate to think how conventional it would be in the real world. I find lots of people get finicky about battery life on their phones and sometimes it's hard enough convincing them to borrow their ordinary charging cable for those times when you don't have one.

Heaven forbid if you asked these same people for a percentage of their phones battery life!

  • Looks a bit suss. You've been a member for 2 hours and post this an hour later….

the real giveaway is the absence of the words "first post, please be nice".

      • I voted + just for the absence of "first post b kind blah blah" nonsense

  • Low-tech phone-jacking.

  • Yes 1st post - But I have bought a few things from them, and I have a Mi4 Xiaomi phone - 2 days battery life, and this is great to top up my wifes iphone, without using the battery pack. Thought it was a good deal!

It's a shame you bought this then, because you won't be able to charge your wife's iphone with it.

  • I highly doubt this would even work at all. Most smartphones these days require more than 500mA to charge. It's extremely unlikely that you would get even 500mA of current out of a USB OTG port, considering they are only required to supply 8mA! They're only designed to connect to USB flash drives, keyboards, very low power items. They are certainly not designed for charging other mobiles.

"Just like a standard USB host port, an OTG host must supply power. However, the required supply current is limited to 8 mA."

From experience with Samsung Galaxy devices, some mobile phones go flat FASTER if plugged into the wrong type of charger. When run from battery and low on charge they use a lower power mode, but when hooked up to a charger they use more power to become faster/more responsive. If the charger can't supply enough current the phone will use up more than it can suck, and go flat faster than it would if not plugged in at all.
