  • First reply gets my $5 Hoyts voucher

  • Peeps: these attraction passes….
Is there anything worthwhile in any state?
Unless I was missing it, there is no way to check the terms of the attraction.
I chose a timezone (or whatever its called) pass for sa, and its basically a BOGOF.

    • BOGOF - no better than ShopperDockets etc that I throw in the bin :-(

Only way seems to contact attraction.

If you've got the time before code expires & attraction responds quickly, you can search attraction contact from the list of available attractions.

Voucher I got is for 1 free admission / session per group. Mine expires end of March.

I've booked in Cairns - on my way to Japan in March. Will email them, but don't like my chances… kite surfing / kayaking & horse riding are not cheap activities & far more expensive than $10 the voucher is supposed to be valued at.

Would be worthwhile posting attraction conditions here, by State.

      • NSW flip out (trampoline place) is good value because the $10 voucher is the total cost of entry so it's a free pass. Only thing is it says one per group

        • Is that confirmed by attraction?
It still could be BOGOF or similar as in Timezone above, if you haven't checked with attraction or used voucher.

        • @Infidel:

Yeah says "one free admission / session per group" on the voucher

        • @Hoju:
I think that's what it says on every voucher. Says it on mine for horse riding.

You have to ask the attraction for their conditions, as Food did & found it was BOGOF with Timezone voucher. As the voucher is for a group, it could be only 1 person in a group of 10, or only children, or only certain times.

        • They all seem to say one per group and that's it. I find it strange that some of these attractions seem to be making up their own rules that aren't in the terms and conditions

  • Another attraction pass today. First to comment gets it.

  • Can anyone help me with the gifting process for food/drink wins. I have tried it on iPad2 and my android phone but I can't get anywhere with either. So I just go to "Gift" and it says Select a friend to gift this prize to and has a search box. I know my son and daughter both have the app but no names are showing - I put their names in and nothing happens. Are names supposed to start showing as soon as you input a letter??

    • I thought it's a Facebook share?

      • +1

It is done through the app as far as I know - the prize has a gift icon that you click on and then asks who you want to gift to and then presents a search box. You can only gift to someone who has the Prize alarm app and connected My Maccas account and also connected FB to the app. I'll double check with my kids that they have done all that. I get nothing when the search tries to search - that also means none of my other FB friends must have the app or it's just not working properly ;)

        • +1

          1) Connect via FB
          2) "Gift" prize, select receiver. The reciever MUST be FB friends and MUST have the Maccas Alarm app installed

  • @Food:

OK thanks that's what I thought but no names show up - perhaps my kids haven't connected the app to FB because they are deffo my FB friends and have the app installed ;)

Happy for somebody to have as nothing I need at Surfstitch

  • Anyone want an attraction pass PM me

  • $10 SS code: 5100000000943413 pin: 3046, full price items only.

  • Does anyone know the minimum order value when using the SS gift card, is it $10.00+? Also I can't seem to redeem it on any sale items, is it only full priced? Thanks!

    • Used to be valid on all items (incl. using a sale code and multiple vouchers) however it is only $10 per order, no sale items. I saved up all my winnings to go on a small shopping fun time but now the codes are all but useless! #thanks

      • Sorry you missed out! I realised that there were a few restrictions on the voucher when I tried to buy various items. The vouchers don't stack, only on non sale items and have up pay for shipping for less than $50. Have you get creative to what to spend it on! I was going to buy two blocks of surf wax for $5.95 delivered.

      • +1

That changed fast! Glad I ordered on 26/12 with sale items & discount codes accepted.

        • +1

That is strange, you'd think that seeing they are "prizes" that they'd not have these type of conditions. I mean a gift card is a gift card.

        • +1

@b-hunterr: I'm going to contact them. As you said a gift card IS a gift card. If its only $10 off full price then don't call it a gift card

        • @Food: yeah exactly! It seems some of these "gifts" aren't really gifts. But at the same time it's running daily for quite some time and some prizes are really great. All the best with contacting them, keep us posted!

        • @Food: Yes please, let us know how you go. I saved my 2 vouchers to use today but got a rude shock that they no longer count towards sale. Surfstitch have become so shady lately.

        • @maynesworld: They're doing a good job of stitching OzBargainers up! I remember when they used to be better.

      So:
Was on the Live Chat. Asked abou t&cs of the card.
"Unfornatley there are restircitons placed on these" (sic)
Asked her tl;dr : Why call it a gift card? It's not a true G.C, Bait and Switch? Not worth it, etc. and she disconnected on me! How bloody rude!

      • Hey, thanks for trying! Here is the email for the Maccas Alarm [email protected]

Edit: I contacted them about the non response from St Kilda Spinner and someone got back to me saying they will contact the provider and let me know the outcome.

        • Yeah I'll email Maccas Alarm and Surfstitch tomorrow

      • Wow. Sounds like Dick Smith tactics.

        • aGREED!

EDIT: My 2500th comment.. whinging.. lol

I was keen to use my GC's for some items I had lined up. Shame on you Surf Dick.

  • Anyone got an attraction pass that could be used this weekend?

  • $5 off cinema ticket up for grabs.. It expires in 22hours once claimed the purchased ticket is valid for 3 months.

  • Quickflix 1 month code - does anyone (really) still use them. But anyway let me know if someone does ;)

I just realised there is a 1/99613 chance of winning a prize over the value of $50.

    Dear X

Thank you for your kind patience.

I have received a response update advising that St Kilda Spinner is no longer in operations.

With further investigations, it appears you successfully redeemed for the venue. Please find below a new reward code so you can proceed to redeeming another venue listed.

Thank you and i hope you have a wonderful day!

Did you have a good experience with our service? We would greatly appreciate your feedback!

  • Attraction pass ZX2XBUXZ

  • Won Quarter Pounder

    • Won that too few days ago! :)

  • My comment's been a little buried now, but I still have one remaining attraction pass. Please send me a private message for the code.

  • +1

won a quarter pounder yesterday at about 12pm and set the timer for 10am today, and scored myself a mc chicken! so i scored free two burgers today, bought a large fries combining it with the student edge deal, got myself a free medium coke! $3.20 for two people! pretty happy!

    • Only thing is its meant to be 1 per person per day (? Unless you got the 2nd person to redeem ?)

      • really? i didn't even know that but it let me redeem two in a day. i went into two different stores in the city so maybe that was why it worked?

      • I've gone in with previous days breakfast offer, ate, read paper, new offer - ordered.

Similar situation to above of overlapping offer. Above could have been done as 2 sequential, non-overlapping offers, ordering previous offer at 11:57 or so & next at 12:01 etc.

No problems as each days offer is for 24 hour period since last alarm. So placing order just before previous one expires & waiting for new offer works.

I tell the staff that's what I'm doing. Staff redeem it if the app lets them - that's all that concerns them. No problems so far.

  • winner winner McChicken dinner

  • $5 Hoyts CDGDXUBE

free quarter pounder. finally a food prize

  • haha, only hash browns allocated to me now, oh well, I've won a couple of great things with this app. All the best everyone!

  • Won a Small coke yesterday and Quarterpounder today

  • 7WJXEJZU - attraction pass for whoever wants it

  • I am still chasing Universal Music downloads - not sure what I can offer you as I keep winning hash browns but I may have an attraction pass or a $5 off Hoyts voucher but I don't think those are highly sought after haha

    • I got a Universal Music download prize today. I can give that to you if you want.

      • If you don't want it I will happily take it. What would you like to trade it for?

        • I'm only really interested in the food prizes (or the iChoose prizes!), which can only be transferred as facebook friends. I can just PM you the code.

        • @tanoshiiki: That would be fantastic! Thank you heaps :)

  • I getting a minimum purchase requirement at Surfstitch, refers me to t&c but can't see anything there. It seems to be $20 minimum after wasting some time.
Nothing like a poorly executed promotion to drive your customers away instead of reeling them in.

      • Looks like you got your time wasted, the terms she quoted weren't even close to relevant.

Would not be bait and switch.

        This from ACCC

        Prize giveaways and competitions

If your business gives away free items or prizes as a promotional activity, you must not mislead your audience about the items on offer or the chances of receiving these items.

If there is a catch (for example, if people must meet certain conditions to claim a prize), you must let people know at the outset.

      • +1

        Sent them a mail

Hi, I'm a little concerned you have a problem with your Maccas Alarm promotion. I just tried to claim the the $10 Surfstich card but it has a minimum purchase.

        ACCC States
        Prize giveaways and competitions

If your business gives away free items or prizes as a promotional activity, you must not mislead your audience about the items on offer or the chances of receiving these items.

If there is a catch (for example, if people must meet certain conditions to claim a prize), you must let people know at the outset.

As you would know complying with ACCC requirements is not a casual requirement. The inclusion of this Surfstich promotional discount as a giftcard prize would seem to leave you in breach of the ACCC guidelines.

        • I may send the same and I encourage others to do the same!
          Keep us informed!

        • Tonka
Have you received a reply yet?

        • @Food: Nope, not really expecting one.

        • @tonka: damn!

        • @tonka: re-emailed them. Take 2!

        • @tonka: gee, what a surprise. Email back in 10 mins. Must have a red flag for ACCC.

          Hi food,

          Apologies for the confusion here.

We issue these gift cards to a third party that then issue them as prizes on behalf of McDonalds. We have contacted them prior to your email asking that they mention terms and conditions apply to the offer and we are just waiting on this to be added.

As we dont manage the promotion or distribution of these gift cards this is out of our direct control, but we have asked them to update the info based on feedback from customers trying to claim the offer.

          Sorry for any disappointment caused.
          Kind regards,

          @Food:
To be updated… just in time for close of promotion - how convenient for Maccas & promoter :(

        • @Food: You emailed Surfstitch? I emailed McDonalds who are the ones running the comp.
While the Maccas food prizes are OK, I think it's very wrong to disguise joint marketing as 'prizes' which is what is happening.
It's probably an outsourced promotion but I may just make the report to ACCC if McDonalds doesn't reply.

        • @tonka: yeah emailed SS. I will email Maccas Alarm but doubt I'll get a reply

        • @tonka: talking to a mate, he said he definitely used more than one ss gift card at the start of the maccas alarm app. Even showed me the shirt he received.
So they changed the deal on us?
