        Since it's my first time to ever install a VPN I am not sure if this was supposed to be a full package on a limited giveaway kinda deal or just the free, basic version that almost all software has. Hope TA (or anyone who's familiar with this VPN) would reply with a 411.

        This allows you to log straight into the servers. The free one puts you in a queue and is slower. The difference between the various packages is on the website.

          I also wanted non-premium Canadian, UK or US IP addresses but either they're all premium ones (you have to upgrade/buy a subscription) or are banned on whatever server you're on at that specific time. You have way too many free-to-connect European IP addresses but nothing from the US (though I got connected to some US IP addresses but still I couldn't watch videos on blocked US YouTube channels when I was supposed to be connected to a US server), UK, Canada or Australia, apart from the premium/banned ones. I call this bull-crap! Well, it's a freebie so it might come handy for some other purpose in the future.

          Edit: For some reason, after I have been connected to the same US IP address on which I couldn't access a banned US channel, now it's working fine. Cool but crazy!

          Huh? Are you saying it still disconnects and gives you the "Time to take a break"-Screen, are you sure it's activated properly then? On the upper right of the interface you should have a setting symbol, next to your username. Clicking on it should give you 3 tabs, the 3rd tab is "My Account" and should tell you that you're on the "Chip Adventskalender 2015" plan if everything goes right.

    Last time I tried cyberghost it was a pretty poor experience, connecting to servers was a finnicky experience that worked about 20% of the time. Lets see if its any better now….

    got the confirmation email and asked me to continue to the activation, and they said that I've already joined one of their campaigns for the last 12 months, but why? I didn't and haven't register in any of their campaign before, tried with different email address and got the same result :(

    For people not receiving the email, check your spam, that's where my email was.

    The activation process and the website is pretty rubbish. Took me quite some time to get logged in and get my key through. Just stick with it.

    Tested it on a few things and quite happy with it so far.

    Skip that one guys, don't work so well is a slow Ad Blocking spot ads, but still some pop up ad pages starting. I can't chose manual server, I live in Europe and program set USA server!? wtf is so slow like that. So if you want to be protected search for promotion about free antivirus software they also protect from dangerous pages, get Ad-blocks(work fast and better) plus for you browser. Only good feature is keeping your private in internet.

      something wrong with your end i can choose auto and manual and change my servers as i please….. i guess if you really want protection run linux distro and cyber ghost well with linux you avoid them nasty for microsoft malware/ adaware/ spyware crap……..

        Thanks you for your answer, I try again and with success I change simulated server (for some reasons denied to set German servers). I just make internet speed test and result was 0,55 Mbps download speed and 5,47 Upload eh… but loading pages almost quick is not so bad.

          @tyler.durden: Well, I received the email (and I am sure many others did too) so it's either you've set up your email address to not receive emails from unknown/new addresses, or the email went to your junk mail, or you've entered your email address details wrong or maybe the deal is exhausted (which I doubt). There are many possible scenarios as to why you didn't get the email, mate. Just try to figure it out calmly and you'll be fine.

    Where do you enter the personal activation key. When I clicked Activate Now, I was brought to their website to enter account details. There's no where to enter the key.

      Ok, can't believe so many "smart" people here yet no one bother to tip a bit help.

      After you get the activation code, you need to register an account from their home page. Once you registered, you will see a page regarding your account configuration. From there you can see a link of already have an activation code, which you can click and paste your code. After that you are able to log on to the vpn client with this registered account to use the service.

    Edit: It seems you can only choose from a few (heavily loaded) servers with this plan. In my case it's USA, Netherlands and Germany. Not very useful.

      To set it up on your Asus router you need the open vpn files. To do this, go to your account on cyberghost, click on add a device, click other, set up the details as you want then click download file. This will create an openvpn file and a ca.crt file.
      Now login to your asus router, click on vpn, click vpn client, click add vpn and upload the openvpn file you just created. Done!
