  • Careful with these cheap ones. I bought a $10 one from Ebay. Didn't detect two out of three devices.

  • Note that this only works from DP computer to HDMI monitor, not the other way around.
Not that its much of a bargain anyway.

    • Well, graphics cards these days usually only have 1 HDMI port.

      • Then this adapter is no use to you.
An example is the Dell monitors which have DP input, but no hdmi or dvi.

    • Would it work if my monitor is dvi. So I connect a hdmi to dvi to the hdmi end of this connector as my monitor has no hdmi.

      • yes, but no sound of course.

Zapal's delivery would be much, much faster than HK.

If you look at where the products are coming from, it's most definitely coming from China/Hong Kong due to the amount of waiting time required.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/219202

The time taken in this example is 2-3 weeks. The picture of Aust Post seems a bit misleading.

Have you received a product from them in the past? If so, what do the postage marks state?

You have to remember that the site also allows for shipping internationally. If you use kproxy and use the Canadian server, it shows exactly the same delivery time frame with the exception there is no Aust Post Logo. Go FIGURE! How can it be correct?

I also don't understand how they can claim 15+ years operation in Australia when their ABN was only registered recently in 2014…

I'll let you guys figure out the rest…

      • @Dagmar:

Zapal's delivery would be much, much faster than HK.

Ha, from what I've read in past Zapals deals, delivery has been hit and miss… and in some cases, Ozbargainers have been receiving telemarketing phone calls. I'm not willing to risk it.

        • Yep, been waiting for a cable from zapals for over 2w and nothing yet, sometimes I get stuff from hkg in like 7-10 days, so i'd say case by case :-)

    • I agree with you, and to be honest, are any of these actual bargains except the true freebies?

They aren't even giving their consumers a rebate on the saved ebay fees. That's 10% at least and they cannot beat eBay…

Even though cashback is linked, it doesn't seem to actually be available on the sites except for Pricepal, with the clause:
Cashback is calculated on the purchase amount and may exclude GST & delivery charges.

Products on eBay may have a different physical design but basically it's the same low priced product, possibly from similar manufacturers in Mainland China.

These deals look more and more like free advertising for stock eBay deals.

Considering they are buying 10k+ product, you would probably agree that they can give a better price…

Can anyone recommend me a good mini display port to HDMI to use with surface pro 4?

    • +1

I have one I baught from MSY maybe two years ago. I use it on my desktop and has been working fine ever since. Also have used it for my Surface Pro at uni. The adapter looks same as ones in this deal. (cheap chinese made)

I also have a pile of them from fleabay (Also look the same as ones in this deal). Majority of them straight out do not work. The few that do work…do not work properly. They have lines through the image or weird greens/purples etc.

      Well that's my experience.

TL;DR Stay away from cheapo fleabay cables..

    • I've purchased a heap of 2m and 3m Mini DP to HDMI cables from Mushtato to patch computers into my AV system at work. The equipment I have is very intolerant of dodgy cables but I have had no problems whatsoever with the Mushtato stuff.

Obviously more expensive but you get faster local stock and easier retailer support if there are issues.

    • Good find, will add to post. My keyword search didn't pick up those for whatever reason!

    • Ignore hi.
