Get yourself a cheap electric guitar off gumtree or dig out the old one gathering dust and get some new strings - either way i dont care - make some noise over the summer holidays!

EDIT: Audio lag/latency is an issue with HDMI connections on Rocksmith so its recommended to hook up directly to your stereo / receiver / amp / headphones via your console optical output - if anyone needs a digital to analog (optical to RCA) converter here is one for $11 on ebay - it can be had a few $$ cheaper from HK or China but this one is from Darwin so youll have it before Christmas 2016 - dont forget to try your luck on Cashrewards too for a cool 55c rebate within 55 days

      The ebay cable thing is needed if you have older analog sound system with RCA inputs. New gen consoles only have optical output.

    The Rocksmith USB cable isn't platform specific from my experience. You can pick the game up cheap for PC on a steam sale. Definitely try playing on PC as latency is so much less an issue. This is a brilliant way to play guitar, I've been using it for nearly 2 years now and my progress has been unbelievable playing a bit almost every day.

    Where do I find a cheap electric guitar from? I remember EB Games selling this game, with a Les Paul guitar for about $100 a year or so ago. I have been kicking myself because I missed out ever since.

      At this time of year it may be worth waiting for Boxing Day sales in your local music shop. A couple of years ago when 2014 came out for Christmas I was able to pick up a brand new Fender Squier Bullet Strat for just under $100 in Perth. The musos there thought it a little strange that I came to them to purchase a 'gaming' guitar but they've always been helpful since. As always, you get what you pay for.

    Don't forget http://customsforge.com/ for all the custom songs, there's thousands there, its a goldmine! Instructions to get the custom dlc working are pretty straight forward. Hook up decent speakers, put some time in, and this game is alot of fun!
    Works with bass too, and both guitar and bass at once (with 2 cables).

        Apologies, I just realised custom dlc doesn't work on next gen consoles, or unmodded 360 or PS3. Buy this for the cable, sell the game, get a cheap pc version of the game, and you're away. Game doesn't require a graphics card, plays well on 1st gen i3 with 4gb ram.

    To play your guitar through the amp without Xbox/Rocksmith you will need your own cord (different from the true tone cord which comes with Rocksmith) which may or may not come with a guitar and/or amp you purchase.

      No way i had a feeling about this my first order just came today more than 2 weeks to come.
      But ordered this rocksmith and game of thrones for xbox one.
      One being a few days back where it was 25% off and thrones 50% off this had me thinking.
      Nothing much on there site.
      And a week ago or so unless they do it all the time had listings on ebay.
      But i had the emails through saying both my orders are or would be dispatched?
      And one is from a tool store selling tools does not make sense.
      If they could not follow up with orders why rob people of there money if they knew they was heading this way?
      I may just hold off on my guitar for rocksmith just incase rocksmith is a no show.
      I paid with paypal so should be ok for refund right.

    Not sure what that means scanned 21st so maybe im ok dont know.
    Looking at there site its got nothing on there now at all.
    Wondering what it means above in perth around then or its leaving them 25th if thats the case even lesser chance on getting it.
    I paid half this paypal and half card through paypal.
    As for other order this was emailed as dispatched with au post but no tracking so may never know if this show up.
    Great i place my first order wait more than 2 weeks and then two other orders and they maybe out of business just my luck.
    And here was me looking at a deal with a guitar but holding off as might not Get game yet.

        It wasnt the cheapest but i picked it up from Mega Music and price matched it from http://www.musicpark.com.au/index.php/epiphone-les-paul-spec… @$350

        Mind you the guy was really helpful at the start and said the price was set at $475 and then got really dejected when I showed him the price match.

        But I reckon you can pick it up off gumtree for the half the price. Though I have 0 knowledge with music instruments so I decided to buy new.

        EDIT: It's also MUCH better quality than the $98 Jb HiFi guitar but I guess you get what you pay for.

          Yea I had a look at the Les Paul Jr too and decided to jump for the special II. The Squier Affinity Stratocaster is roughly the same price as the special II, but again have a look around and see.

          Also the Squier Bullet Strat is roughly the same price as the Jr if you wanted a comparison.
