An alternative would be Backblaze at $95 for 2 years. I've been a customer for over 5 years and i've got 1.3TB backed up with them. I don't want to discredit the OP, but in the spirit of OZB it's just an alternative. If anyone is interested, the below referral link will give you a month free (I also get a month free, in the name of disclosure).

    • Agreed. Crashplan is my preferred backup provider, but BackBlaze is good too.

However BackBlaze, Crashplan, etc are backup providers, rather than cloud storage/syncing/sharing services like DropBox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.

SpiderOak's claim-to-fame is full encryption and zero-knowledge of your stored data. They won't and (allegedly) can't access or decrypt your data.

If privacy is important to you, I'm not aware of any other cloud storage providers that guarantee zero-knowledge online data storage.

      • Also, SpiderOak has a Linux client. Most only support OSX & Windows
