      It's getting old JV.

  • Think you forgot about the "Sale Begins December 26" so canon cashbacks are moot..

    • i think the discount has started, anyway it has passed midnite, sigh

    • Sale started early as mentioned. Canon cashbacks now over. The rest continues for a bit.

Pretty good price on the 25mm f1.4 Olympus, 25mm f1.4 panasonic, 75mm f1.8, for micro 4/3 mounts. Not the cheapest they've ever been but compared to the other local options, the pricing is pretty sharp.

    • Get the gx7 or gx8 body with it. Also on sale.

      • already have an em5-mk 2 haha

        • Meant panasonic g7. Most underrated video camera out there.

          Olympus is brilliant to.

I'm a semi-professional photographer, so I spend quite a bit of money on gear every year and purchase at various destinations including DigiDirect, Ted's and grey market e-tailers. Just so everyone knows, whilst Digidirect might have nice prices, they tend to be very reluctant to haggle.

I was after a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART today. Digidirect had it for around $1k, I knew that the 10% sale was coming, so I figured it would be around $900. I called up Ted's, who had it for $1049 and asked for their best price. They gave me $1,000. I told them Digidirect will have it for $900 and they were happy to match.

Came in store and chatted to the sales guy and he ended up doing $890 after a bit of conversing about general photography and gear.

    • good deal!

    • Digidirect were happy to price match a 200mm f2 for me last year. That was an interstate store as well.

Might pick up the sigma 20mm which they have at a lower price than most places. With the 10% off it's even cheaper again by about $150 from camerapro for example. Couldn't see it on teds site.

      • I'm not referring to price matching, I'm referring to haggling, so basically just trying to cut out a deal with them. Doesn't happen as much as some of the other stores around.

        • Their price matching is not that good either. At least three times lately I walk in with a print out of ebay local store price with discount promotion. They refuse to match it.

I can see some of the prices are cheapest o market. However they do change price before they do these kind of promotion, So most likely more like 5%.

I dare any of you go and ask a price match for the E-M1 price from Gerry gibbs. $699 after visa voucher. I bet they wont do it.

        • Why does everyone think I'm talking about price matching? I'm talking about haggling - it seems like everyone is obsessed with price matching these days. If Gerry Gibbs is doing a great deal on the E-M1, then buy it from Gerry Gibbs, why would I buy it elsewhere?

I'm referring to haggling, which is where 5 stores list it at $1,000 and you go to each store and try to negotiate a price. More often than not, I find Ted's to have a lot of haggling room.

      • 200mm f2 niceee

        • One you get over the initial shock of dropping so much cash on it… It's the most beautiful thing with the best picture quality.

        • @bbourizk:

I got to play with one for about an hour a few years back (best hour of my life) if I had the cash I would get one but I think my 70-200mm f2.8 non is will have to do, just spent almost $1700 on a 7d mark 2 :O

Sorry Paul, I have had a different experience. My last three Nikon lenses were all 'haggled' but I did it online, 2 via their FB page and 1 via the online request.

Not bad, great lens. I managed to pick it up for $758 in the ebay 15% off everything sale, Australian stock! I have found DigiDIRECT will negotiate on price as well…

  • i bought Sigma 50mm Art for $785 in last december from JB HiFI. I am really surprised that this lens is holding its price quit well, i got good deal because i bought it with nikon D810. This lens is worth every penny you spend on it.

    • lenses always hold their prices very well, especially if they got good reviews. this particular lens has top rated rating.

  • do they sell AU stocks?

    • Yes

      do they sell AU stocks?

      No, try ComSec

      • it is CommSec

  • How long will the promotion last?

  • Cheapest 760D body around. IM VERY TEMPTED :S
My 550d is doing well so im not sure if this is worth the upgrade or do to somthing like the 7d mk2 :S

    http://www.digidirect.com.au/slr_cameras/canon/canon_eos_760…

    • If you like the grip on your 550d then I would say go for the 760d but if your like me who has big hands get the 7d, having a big grip really helps when you use a big/heavy lens as well. I just ordered a 7d mark 2 will be upgrading from a 40d that has taken 141000 photos to date :)

  • Looks like they have the best price so far for the Sony F43M flash but so loath going into the Melb CBD.
