Good for a printer server and also whack on a USB HDD and have a network attached storage. Anyway, just though I'd pass it along ***

Apples and Oranges - you've referenced an Airport Express. This deal is for an Airport Extreme.

A- You are comparing a new product to a refurbished one.
B- You are comparing the wrong product.

      Well done on the post.

    • +2

maybe you want to revoke your negative given you have made a mistake here

    • +1

      lol comparison fail.

  • Yeah, the Apple refurb store is great also when they have stock. I've bought iPods and other stuff from there over the years. Never a problem. And if it's over $100 the shipping is usually included from Apple. As long as you don't care about the retail packaging. So really, my deal kinda sucks in comparison, Oh well… When you shop Apple, every $aved counts :-)

Call it jumping the gun a bit early. I had 3-4 things on the go at once when email arrived, and didn't check it out with the scrutiny it probably deserved… live and learn.

    • Ahhh yes… I STILL have 3-4 balls in the air tonite so I was perhaps too quick to "diss" my own deal posting abilities… I have the Express also. GREAT for travel. Thanks to the others for pointing out the discrepancy.

  • it's apple Airport Extreme Base Station not AirPort Express Base Station

  • is this the current model airport extreme?

    if so, great deal

  • +1

Thanks! I was looking for an express, but another extreme would never go astray :)

    • yeah one extra is nice and the DUAL BAND is great

  • site says $229 ???

    • Use the promo code "48hours" at checkout and it's $139

      • cheers

  • Bought one thanks

  • Very very tempted…
Is it the current model ie: same one you would buy off the Apple site but cheaper price?
And i havent shopped at Wireless1 before… safe and reliable enough?

    • +1

I bought this Logitech keyboard and mouse combo from them in October.
Very happy with the price, and the service, packaging/delivery were no complaints.
Can pay with PayPal, which I always like… rather than every little once-off purchase web store getting my CC details.

  • can anyone confirm whether or not these are refurb or brand new.?

    • Will let U know when I get mine delivered. I'm expecting new. It's certainly being presented that way on the site. No mention of refurb, or anything other than retail packaging. We'll see soon enough. Of course that will be too late the deal to still be effective. But I cannot warp space-time (yet) so this is all I can offer tonite.

      • yeah I think i'll just take the punt and grab one also :).. thanks for this!

    • +1

      they are brand new.

  • Good deal. Thanks.

  • Just be aware that this is not the latest model. This model (MB763X/A) was released a year ago if I remember correctly, whereas the current model number is MC340X/A. Improvements of the latest model: according to Apple up to 50% better performance and up to 25% better range.

    • Is this a G router? Vs N?

      • 802.11 a/b/g/Draft n

  • I'm a noob when it comes to these things, but I'll still need a ADSL2 modem when using this right?

    • -6

Yes, you will still require an ADSL modem. Just plug it into the back of the Airport Extreme which will become your router, wireless access point etc.

I would rather pay the extra and get the current model. If you are a student, you can buy from Apple Online store for $199 shipped.

      • +1

I'm glad that you pointed out that it is an older model. However I don't think it deserves a negative vote.

The RRP on the new version is $229. That is $80 more than the one listed here, which is a pretty big price difference. I still think it's a decent price for a quality Apple WiFi router.

      • +1

so I am confused - whats the negative for? Not latest model, or because it requires an ADSL modem?

Your comments are valid points but really is a negative vote adding anything that the comments dont do on their own and not everyone has access to student prices so please compare like with like. Its sorta like saying you can get it for 10% off if you have a seniors card - not much use for someone 20 years old

    • yep

  • The difference between the old model and the new model is minimal;
    http://www.applesource.com.au/reviews/soa/Apple-AirPort-Extr…
Scrolll down to "Performance" for a comparison.

    • yeah and on their website, it also got the 5X faster icon, maybe we will get a new one

    • Thanks for that link. Now I only have to look for a bargain on the D-Link DIR-825.

  • If there is only one USB port can you use it as a print server and also a NAS, ie connect printer and hard drive simultaneously? I presume you have to load Airport Extreme on PC to use Print Server.

How is $139 +$10 freight Cheaper than $149 incl Delivery from the Apple Store??????????

    • it’s apple Airport Extreme Base Station not AirPort Express Base Station

    • which apple store did you go to?

    • +2

Because this isn't $149 from the Apple Store! You're comparing different productions you douche nozzle.
