Logitech Create Keyboard Cover for iPad Pro - $138, Google Chromecast - $38 at Harvey Norman

30

This is a very niche offer as it's for the Apple iPad Pro. Now I know a lot of people think the iPad Pro and associated accessories are way overpriced, but point here is that the very recently released Logitech Create keyboard cover is on sale for $138, down from the RRP of $229.95

Unfortunately, it's not yet available at Officeworks for a 5% price beat, but still a good saving over RRP.

Surprisingly, this deal is at Harvey Norman.

Google Chromecast

Google Chromecast for $38 at Harvey Norman. I price matched at Officeworks ($36.10), although it took a visit to a second Officeworks to get the price. The manager in the first place said they don't price match clearance sales.

That's indeed a good price but I don't recommend it. I own one and attaching it to the ipad is a struggle as you need to clip only 2 ends of the ipad (makes it feel like it could pop out at any time). The keyboard is bulky and heavy which is quite inconvenient to carry around and the outer material feels quite cheap (not to mention it doesn't look that good if you care about that). Sure if you are in the market for a working keyboard case then go for it, otherwise I suggest waiting for a better release in the near future. Currently I would just simply buy a 13 inch laptop sleeve and use that to slip the ipad in when you are on the go.

  • I'd probably give it a miss too. Though I like the disclaimer at the bottom: *Keyboard pictured for illustrative purposes and is not included.

    • They probably meant ipad not keyboard lol

  • Yeah, I'm using a generic sleeve with my iPad Pro at the moment. I'm waiting for a nice minimal folio style cover to come out.
As for this logitech keyboard, I got it to explore the possibility of cutting the cover bit off to just use the keyboard with whatever case I finally settle on. :)

  • HN mobile site (http://www.harveynorman.com.au/google-chromecast.html) stated half yearly sale and not clearance, and why doesn't OW accept the price match?

  • I guess all those people expecting the new Chromecast to hit our shelves before Christmas are disappointed.

Anybody wanna guess when it does arrive?

That being said, $38 is a good, if not typical price for this when its on sale.

  • Keyboard case quality not so good… Returning it as corners already coming off… After just opening a brand new box

    • What do you mean by corners? I've had mine for a few days and it's doing fine, would like to know so if that happens to me I'll return it. Cheers

    • Yeah, i read one review where the reviewer was complaining that the + - labels for the volume were peeling off. is this what mean? none of the other reviews mention this, so may be some and not all the cases. at any rate, i've been using mine for a few days and is fine so far, but can and will return if it starts peeling off.

  • Top right corner, opposite side to + - side, the rubber/plastic appeared to not be glued on right. May be this one only, had the inconvenience of taking it back to swap for another.. Taking a punt on quality…
That's the way for new adopters

    • How's the new one now? Is it showing signs it's happening again?

      • So far so good. No issues, keyboard is pretty responsive

        • Same here, just I hoped it had more backlighting options like my macbook lol.

  • Just wanted to input a few more things about the case after prolonged use. The backlighting seems to have a minds of its own and that's quite annoying. The clamping function that keeps the iPad attached to the case combined with the bump on the keyboard (bottom area with the logi logo on it) resting on the screen when the iPad is closed has been reported to have damage the top 2 inches of the iPad screen - causing flickering (makes sense due to the constant pressure from both sides). I read this from the reviews on the apple website so I'm reconsidering using this case. If any other users can put in some other inputs of their own experience that would be great.
