Starmaid Storage Plastic 52L Containers. These are clear, but there is also a purple transparent version available for the same price.

Definitely not as good a deal as offered previously, but perhaps there will be further price drops early in the new year?

There are no wheels on these, and while there are cheaper options available in other brands, may be useful for those that already have some of these and want to keep the same style and shape (and stackability).

It is interesting to note that Masters sell these for $33 which seems to be a high price for a company whose "number one goal is to bring our customers everyday low prices year-round". Yes Masters & Big W have similar ownership. With Masters price match, you would potentially get these for $11.48 each (as they offer to beat competitors price by 10%).

Im using these at home from Bunnings with wheels,
    http://www.bunnings.com.au/award-50l-pack-n-stack-storage-co…
Maybe the ones from BigW is better quality but I have had no problems with these from bunnings, plus they are cheaper as well.

    • Ive had some of these for years, but Im not tough on them, they do work well though.

I also prefer this style of clipping on the lid.

    • im using the bunnings ones right now to move my home. Does the job.

I think this deserves a post.

    • Wheels are fine where there's plenty of room.

If you're stacking them on top of one another on high shelves or in any situation where you need to be pulling them in and out from confined spaces, the wheels are just a pain because they only move left and right.

      • You can easily take the wheels off

        • Yes but the sharp edges of the cut-out where the wheels are supposed to slot in, will scratch, snag and get caught on things. I have the Award 50L containers as well.

    • I was looking at the awards storage in store, and when trying to pull 1 out to look at it, the area around the handle broke (I wasn't being ruff with either), there was a few others in the pile (2 stacks), also broken.

So I would say stay away from them.

      Guess you got lucky.

Starmaid make extremely good boxes and if you do need clear boxes so you can see what's inside, this is a good deal. I own a couple and after five years or so they still seem to be going string. I've had success with Starmaid, Sistema and Supercheap Auto boxes, but most other generic brands seem to disintegrate fairly quickly.

I know it's a completely different product, but if you just need lots of stackable storage boxes and not specifically clear 52L, Supercheap Auto have some very good roller boxes pretty cheap, three 45L for $22.95:

They have some other sizes here. If you wait a few months they often have smaller boxes 3 for ~$20:
    http://search.supercheapauto.com.au/search?w=storage+roller+…

The Supercheap boxes are extremely sturdy, I've accidentally dropped them down flights of stairs while full of heavy tools and there's not even a mark, whereas some of the other containers crack or shatter if you do as little as pick them up the wrong way with an uneven load inside. I've had some for more than ten years which have been treated poorly but they're still going strong, whereas nearly all the other generic brands of boxes purchased from Big W, Kmart or Coles I've owned have degraded or split open. Most of the other brands have extremely flimsy lids so you can't stack them safely or reliably, but the Supercheap, Sistema and Starmaid have better designed ribbed lids which support a lot of weight and evenly spread it out throughout the box edges.

  • Be aware, the stickers on the boxes actually say StoreMate Storage System but in the lower right-hand corner, the Starmaid logo is visible.

  • Thanks for sharing! Need a few to move home.

  • Starmaid are BPA free, I think also made in OZ, no chemicals leaching out.

  • I have about ten of these 60L ones for $9 each.. Never had a problem with them. http://www.target.com.au/p/6-lt-plastic-storage-container-gr…
Also if you have a target receipt from a previous shop you can $10 off when you spend over $60

Starmaid are the best tubs I've used. Thanks OP got another 6 price matched less 10% at Masters.

  • The link is showing $17 now, so looks like this deal has expired.
