20% off Google Play Gift Cards at JB Hi-Fi (in-Store)

420

Discounted Google Play gift cards are hard to come by, but thankfully JB Hi-Fi has come to the rescue with 20% off all Google Play gift cards in stores! There is no apparent limit on this deal, so now is a good chance to stock up on this rare discount.

We are unsure of when this promotion ends, so if you happen to know the end date for this deal, please let us know in the comments.

Thanks to Trevor for sending this one in.

  • It's probably part of the End of Year Madness sale which ends today. There is a lot of 20% off in that sale.

Why does this link to gift cards on sale in the go to deal link? Shouldn't it link to the jb hifi website?

  • What a shame you can't use it for any hardware from Google. :(

    • Is there T&C somewhere that prevent google credit to be used on Nexus phones ?

      • google hardware are not part of the play store, and i'm sure it is written on the back of the gift card. lots of people have made this mistake, and then were disappointed unfortunately.

better off getting the Telstra starter sims when they are on sale

      A lot more effort.

Second that, I bought the starter kit, but in my 2 unlocked Optus phones, "paying with Telstra credit" simply not available in Google play, talked to Telstra custom service for a few times, not helpful, and it seems that many people have similar problems.

        • Have had same problem. Been trying to pay with Telstra Credit for a couple of years now, different phones, different sims. Have spent hours with customer service but still no reason can be found. The script ends with suggesting a new sim card after about an hour and a half, even when using a brand new sim.

        • I had the same problem. Rather than calling up, I posted in a telstra forum and someone from the support team got in touch with me to resolve the issue.

        • @phil1311: I get a call every few weeks from telstra now, alternating between asking me to thank them for doing such a wonderful job in solving my issues and running through the exact same script after escalating it to a higher level.

Honestly, I would rather keep my time now and just use offers such as these for the little I actually spend. Google rewards (the survey app)seems to pretty much cover all my credit needs these days.

  • Cheaper just to buy telstra credits at around 35% off on ebay.

    • Or $30 starter packs for $5..

Not sure how x% off google gift cards is ever a deal unless you are gifting them to people.

is it really that hard to scroll up slightly to find your answer?

  • These are only ever discounted when I don't need them argh!

    • Do they expire?

      • Not sure about these ones but often GC's have 12 months.

I tend to buy them spontaneously, if my other half needs store credit (only happened once in 5 years) or as a gift. It isn't worth me buying in advance because I'm on Telstra Pre-Paid for myself and have plenty of store credit :)

        • Whats a good telstra prepaid plan/ cost effective to replace my 19.90 amaysim service? Wondering if I can make use of my credit where as my amaysim credit goes to waste.

        • @battosai:
For $20 (?), probably nothing with Telstra directly.

I'm on the old Encore plan, no longer available I think. $30 per month with $220 calls/txt, 400 MB data & $30 credit - this is enough for me most months, occasionally need to buy a data pack, using the credit.

          Link with Encore PDF

  • The cards aren't on special at my JB, so either this sale hasn't started or it isn't on.

  • Went to local JB in VIC and they did not have the special. Has anyone confirmed this??

    • Read the very first comment.

  • Not on sale at JB in Armadale Perth
