When you set up an Xbox One or Xbox 360 console and create a new Microsoft account, you’ll be able to sign up for an Xbox Live Gold monthly renewing membership and receive your first month free.
You can also sign up for an Xbox Live Gold trial membership when you create your new account online. Here’s how:
After you create a Microsoft account, sign in to the Subscriptions page.
Select Gold – 1 Month FREE Trial, and then click Next.
Click Add a credit card.
Important Although your Xbox Live Gold one-month trial membership is free, we need a payment option on file because the membership will renew to an Xbox Live Gold subscription unless you cancel it. You must add a payment method such as a credit card or PayPal to your account. If you don’t want to keep your membership going after your free trial, you must cancel your membership. See “How to cancel an Xbox Live Gold trial membership,” below.
Enter your billing information, and then click Next.
Follow the prompts to complete the signup process.
