    Great jerky, been buying them for a while now but just wondering do they contain Nitrates or Nitrites :) thanks..

      @vid_ghost No we do not add any artificial preservatives or colourings. The beef is preserved by drying for 14-16 hours in our natural mixture.

        I'd be a little more concerned that any dried meat products didn't contain sodium nitrite? Surely cured meat products (especially unrefridgerated ones like jerky)are required to be treated with sodium nitrite to prevent the very real possibility of contracting botulism…

          We follow strict guidelines set out by SafeFood Qld with full accreditation which includes micro biology testing. Never had an issue with our process. It is one of the reasons our product is dry compaired to the plastic/rubbery jerky people buy in the majors.

          @Mobe1969: Yes, some have really weird aftertaste. I have tried just about all jerkys wanting to get an idea of what the market is like. Some jerkys are very nice but the rubbery soft ones are just disgusting. Amazing when you flip the packet over and read what is put into some of them..boggles the mind

        Ah ok. I dont think pickup is working. I select it but it defaults back to delivery. Weird thing is that when i select delivery it goes to $38, but when i select pickup it goes back to $30 but the selection defaults back to delivery.

        Its a weird error.

      the 10 packs i got were fine… one was super chilli though and i couldnt eat it at all.. i guess its just a bit of a gamble.. not every batch will be the same

        The missus is good…she's actually part of the reason why I need to order a kilo+ at a time, she now loves your jerky as much as I do, so I find my stash whittled away very rapidly nowadays! :'(

        Much like areustillpretty, I'll defer my order til I can get a kg at a time at least to maximise the value from the shipping cost. This is still a good deal for those who don't need as much in a single order.

        I'm kicking myself for missing the last 50% off 40g bag deals, I really like that format for snack convenience…please consider another one of those for the next deal. :)

    I want to know what they put in it to make it so attractive to cats.

    My cat freaking LOVES the stuff. Anytime I open a 40gram bag she will run from the other end of the room and demand some. Not to mention with the 200gm bags I ordered last time she opened one and ate the whole thing while I was at work one day.

    Geronimo rep, how long will the jerky stay fresh once the bag is open? ive only bought the small bags so didnt have to worry about not finishing the bag.

      The best way to keep it is in airtight container out of direct sunlight. Doesnt need to be put in fridge and is much better in cupboard. It will last AT least 6 months this way.

    My little dog actually broke into my last order of 10x 40g bags, stole the flamin arrow flavour and then buried individual pieces all around the back yard, in the next week he would always be running off for one of his snacks, surprisingly the chili didn't seem to affect him.
    Time to get more though.

    Tried to order multiple times. Can't due to pickup not working. When selected it just defaults back to delivery.

    Not really wanting to pay $9 for it to be delivered when I live 2 minutes away from the store.

      No PW, $3 each is close to cost for us with beef prices doubling in price of what we paid when we first started times are tight.

      We are always in for cutting it fine to get it into as many mouths but dont want to sink the ship :-)

      I wont Answer this question Colblair-It would be Better for her to speak with her Obstetricians.

      We do cook our product to the recommended temp and go way over the required time it is heated. Other meats like cold cured meat is what the doctors recommend to avoid .

          Beef jerky can be contaminated with listeria, it depends upon how hot the meat is heated during the drying process.

          As I don't work at Geronimo Jerky I felt it pertinent to ask the question.
